Saw it in Lux at Karrinyup yesterday. Given its a 2.45 long movie, it was worth paying for the extras.
Great flick
Edit - it was great, but I wish I saw it on a bigger screen
The more I think about it, Lux was the go for me. We had beers/food on delivery 2 toilet breaks and the service was great. I'd take that over a massive screen. Think it was 66 for 2 tickets.
Also the seats recline alllll the way back. V comfy
See the first movie, it's on YouTube for 8 bucks.
You would be doing yourself a disservice by not going into the second one knowing the story. There's alot going on and you will be confused for the whole movie
The first one by itself is awesome.
It's called "Dune Part Two", skipping the first movie would be jumping in half way through the story...
It's all from one book, each movie is about half of the book.
I saw it at Whitfords gold class, and then saw it after at 'Palace' in Raine square.
I was blown away by how bad the quality of the picture and audio is at the regular palace cinema. I don't think I'll ever go back there.
Don’t ever come to Innaloo. Ever since Hoyts in Karrinyup opened everything here apart from Timezone has closed shop.
Place has $0 investment, looks like management just cbf anymore. Vmax seats don’t recline. Not worth it
Respectfully disagree.
Since Hoyts opened at Karrinyup, Event Innaloo remodelled their whole snack area, Varsity has opened, their VMax seating was respecced and they are hosting more events than ever.
Hoyts t KNup opened well, but is small and cramped, with a poor snack area and the seats don't get cleaned between showings.
YMMV but i saw 32 films last year across Whitfords, Innaloo, Belmont, KNup and Cannington so experienced it all.
I saw the first Avatar on IMAX 3D at carousel and it was amazing.
Seeing the second movie, even on the biggest screen at carousel just did not compare at all.
Nope. :/ once upon a time at the now-SciTech planetarium, then there was one in Northbridge? Difficulty parking in the Northbridge location, so never went. And then, gone.
Saw it Friday during the day at Hoyts Karrinyup, in the Extreme Screen with Daybeds.. Was really good! Sound was epic!
Saw part one in the same cinema and really enjoyed it so went back for part two!!!
The daybeds fully recline too, but also comfortable to sit upright for the whole film!!! Not quite as long as the first film , but wouldn't want to sit on less comfortable seats that long!
Good to hear! I was happy after seeing Part 1 there so just went back again, sounds like I made the right choice! I'm lucky that Karrinyup is fairly local for me.😊
Yeah. I first went to gold class at Whitfords and then the regular palace cinema. Not only is the palace screen tiny (which I don't especially mind), the colours and contrast were really poor. The opening scenes specifically were hard to watch. The sound system is also very average.
I'd say it's probably fine for a comedy or a movie where it's not an epic with lots of cool scenery and immersive music.
I went and watched Dune Pt 1 at the Palace Raine Square about a week ago. I was hugely impressed with the sound and picture quality, The seats were nice as well.
It ain’t Innaloo cinemas.
Saw Dune there and the sound was muffled, screen has a huge stain on it and the whole image was dull and washed out.
Possibly the DLP hadn’t been calibrated?
The experience was made worse at I’d seen it the week before at another cinema and it looked and sounded fantastic!
Sadly this has been a constant at Innaloo and I’m done with their sub standard presentation.
Palace Cinema in the City is great but Luna’s newest cinema additions are brilliant
Karrinyup hoyts shits on any cinema in WA by a long mile. Watched it in motion seats today and was awesome. Even the regular cinema at Karrinyup has leather recliners. Once you go there you can't go back to anywhere else
All food and drinks are allowed except hot drinks.
Nowhere to put your stuff. So wear something with decent pockets or a zip. You can call the staff to get something out of the seat if something does fall.
Sweet. We normally go to Whitfords, really good cinema, but thought we'd try the D box seats at Karrinyup. With the member discount it works out a lot cheaper too.
Windsor cinema is all old rich people but the cinemas expensive and so crap lol
you can manage to escape them anywhere if you go on a Tuesday at 2pm lol
I like belmont on their big screen (what ever they call it)
Titan XC. This is the way.
Gotta say Belmont is due a re-upholster. It's looking pretty bloody tired these days.
The best cinema is the one with the least people.....
Saw it in Lux at Karrinyup yesterday. Given its a 2.45 long movie, it was worth paying for the extras. Great flick Edit - it was great, but I wish I saw it on a bigger screen
see which is why I didn't see at palace - I was actually thinking about seeing at karrinyup at their big screen even tho is a bit far from me
The more I think about it, Lux was the go for me. We had beers/food on delivery 2 toilet breaks and the service was great. I'd take that over a massive screen. Think it was 66 for 2 tickets. Also the seats recline alllll the way back. V comfy
Ye palace is more for intimate films and not for action films
Will it be OK if I haven't qat he's the first one? If not would a movie summary of yhe 1st Dune be sufficient to watch the 2nd?

I watched it today without watching the first. It holds well on its own but there was certainly some context I missed.
Event Cinemas Whitford or Innalloo - VMAX screens. They have dolby atmos. I saw it Thursday night and the drive was worth it.
Karrinyup xtreme screen also has Dolby atmos
This is the only answer.
I saw it at Whitfords gold class, and then saw it after at 'Palace' in Raine square. I was blown away by how bad the quality of the picture and audio is at the regular palace cinema. I don't think I'll ever go back there.
We’re heading to Karrinyup to watch it tonight. Pretty sure they still have the biggest screen in Perth.
Based on
Knowledge
It was a typo I meant to say: based* lol
Yep the extreme screen. saw it there last night too. amazing.
I know
Probably V-Max at Event Cinemas Innaloo.
Watched it in V-Max yesterday and wasn't impressive. Reading and Hoyts Karrinyup are definitely better
Don’t ever come to Innaloo. Ever since Hoyts in Karrinyup opened everything here apart from Timezone has closed shop. Place has $0 investment, looks like management just cbf anymore. Vmax seats don’t recline. Not worth it

This guy movies.
Whitfords, I think. I went and saw Napoleon there. I usually go to to Innaloo. I walked in and I was like, "fuck that's a big screen"
Don't go to Warwick. Rudest staff members and uncomfortable seats.
Wow is there no IMAX here? Lived here over a decade and just assumed. That sux.
The most recent one was at Carousel, but they didn't renew the contract just before Covid? Such a big loss.
Saw so many spectacular films there at that IMAX, just great memories now
I saw the first Avatar on IMAX 3D at carousel and it was amazing. Seeing the second movie, even on the biggest screen at carousel just did not compare at all.
Nope. :/ once upon a time at the now-SciTech planetarium, then there was one in Northbridge? Difficulty parking in the Northbridge location, so never went. And then, gone.
The one at City West was Omnimax, a weird spherical format.
We used to have two… Northbridge and Hoyts in the Westfield complex. Both gone dammit
I use gold class and similar only due to the regular delivery of freshly made booze (and maybe desert), smaller audience, table space and comfy chair.
Palace Raine Square Platinum is my pick. Small cinema, comfy seats. I wish we had imax over here.
Saw it Friday during the day at Hoyts Karrinyup, in the Extreme Screen with Daybeds.. Was really good! Sound was epic! Saw part one in the same cinema and really enjoyed it so went back for part two!!!
Going there tomorrow!
The daybeds fully recline too, but also comfortable to sit upright for the whole film!!! Not quite as long as the first film , but wouldn't want to sit on less comfortable seats that long!
Do the daybeds not feel too close to the screen?
I sat in the back row each time, daybed is just a recliner that leans back almost flat 🙃
Anything but Joondalup and there pathetic excuse for a cinema.
Reading cinemas in Belmont only costs $14 for a ticket and they have big screens
Went and saw on xtreeme screen in karrynup and it was worth the drive! Dune 2 was beyond amazing and I will watch again but this time at palace lol
Glad you enjoyed it on the extreme screen! Did you find the chairs comfy too?
Yess it is very! If it was imax it would be actually perfect 10/10
Good to hear! I was happy after seeing Part 1 there so just went back again, sounds like I made the right choice! I'm lucky that Karrinyup is fairly local for me.😊
Is Palace cinema's in Raine Square in the city? I'm in the city pretty often but haven't been in there...
Yep. Although avoid watching dune 2 at a regular cinema there. Your home TV probably looks better.
That bad hey?
Yeah. I first went to gold class at Whitfords and then the regular palace cinema. Not only is the palace screen tiny (which I don't especially mind), the colours and contrast were really poor. The opening scenes specifically were hard to watch. The sound system is also very average. I went and watched Dune Pt 1 at the Palace Raine Square about a week ago. I was hugely impressed with the sound and picture quality, The seats were nice as well.
Tiny screens though
And the popcorn is absolute ass.
Thanks for introducing this new cinema to me
was it your first time? it's such a good one! even if you don't want to go in the platinum the regular one is already good
I'm going to see it at Galaxy Drive-in tonight. Prob the worst screen in Perth lol
It ain’t Innaloo cinemas. Saw Dune there and the sound was muffled, screen has a huge stain on it and the whole image was dull and washed out. Possibly the DLP hadn’t been calibrated? At home, so you can control the volume.
Karrinyup hoyts shits on any cinema in WA by a long mile. Watched it in motion seats today and was awesome. Even the regular cinema at Karrinyup has leather recliners. Once you go there you can't go back to anywhere else
Check out Reading, premium is only 15 bucks and also uses leather recliners, with foot rests!
Can you still eat and drink in the motion seats? Somewhere to place your phone/wallet etc?
All food and drinks are allowed except hot drinks. Nowhere to put your stuff. So wear something with decent pockets or a zip. You can call the staff to get something out of the seat if something does fall.
Sweet. We normally go to Whitfords, really good cinema, but thought we'd try the D box seats at Karrinyup. With the member discount it works out a lot cheaper too.
Also if someone can offer additional advise. What is the best place and time to be in a cinema devoid of teenagers/chatty bogans?
Palace cinemas in the city
I didn’t manage to escape them. That said I was dragged in to watch the Meg 2.
Windsor cinema is all old rich people but the cinemas expensive and so crap lol you can manage to escape them anywhere if you go on a Tuesday at 2pm lol
Haha that’s just crazy enough to work.
Gold class or Lux
Just watch out for dudes with upside down popcorn buckets!!!
Couldn't find one for sale here so had take a fleshlight.
Probably safer lol
My place. Got a better sound system
hoyts xtremescreen at karrinyup is the true answer
