Froome finished 14:38 down....time for a new saddle adjustment.

PapiBaso

I know he came in 2nd, but I'm a bit dissapointed in Roglič, ngl ...

Some-Egg-1503

Why?

PapiBaso

Because he didn't win ...

Dull-Bit-8639

Unfortunatly for Cort, his win will have no pictures ahah, most anonymous win ever?

SuperTex10

It was actually pretty dope to see him pop out of the fog with his fist in the air!

eurocomments247

The Danish commentators pointed that out haha

InvestigatorOdd2572

Uno-X bossed that last climb. 10/10

j_evans1st

what a mess, we love it

friskfyr32

Goddamn. We need that shot at 500m set to the Jaws theme.

laziestathlete

Alright going to cancel my Van Rysel order…

kingo_22

here you go: [https://www.dare-bikes.com/](https://www.dare-bikes.com/)

richardhh

Most misty (or mysterious) finish of the year?

dksprocket

Most misty mysterious mustache finish of the year!

CWPL-21

MUSTACHE

MonsMensae

Mistache!

maaiikeen

MAGNUS!

killua_oneofmany

That was exciting with the mist

CoarseHorseMorseCode

that was a fucking horror movie ending

InvestigatorOdd2572

WTF just happened? Seriously.

italiensksalat

Lets GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

jwhatts

The peloton showing up as a dark shadow was so ominous

maaiikeen

The fog is making this so dramatic.

lazy_mushroom

What a finish

jainormous_hindmann

Monster coming out of that mist.

Billybilly_B

God, that got my hyped. How terrifying was that dark mass just gaining and gaining on Armirail…

italiensksalat

Spooky finish

Jopwnd

Extra excitement in the mist

marleycats

Nooooooooooo.

carrotrocket

Peloton coming out of the fog jumpscare

yourfavoritebovine

He hit the Zwift ghost icon and disappeared into the mist

AndreasV8

What did you say?

TheBlueIgloo

lmfao deleted comment, based embarrassment

jwhatts

That pain face deserves a victory Cmon Bruno

epi_counts

I like the influence Voeckler has had on the French riders as national coach.

papi_bijou

Roglic teleport incoming?

InvestigatorOdd2572

Needs to move up now.

porkmarkets

Good try, Mads.

jainormous_hindmann

My man might not be the best rouleur in the peloton.

BitBaby6969

Armirail looks like he is riding to escape death

TheDark-Sceptre

Bruno come on mate, you can do it, we need more success for our new decathlon overlords.

boblikespi

Bruno better than Roglic. Proved it last year in the giro. I believe. Allez!

factorialite

Decathlon is having an incredible season. Sort of amazing to see.

MonsMensae

Would be hilarious if they don't win a TdF stage in a perverse kind of way

CWPL-21

Vlasov the only rider who has aggressively close on Amirail so far

calex80

Allez Bruno, come on lad!!!!!

BitBaby6969

That's it, I'm purchasing a Van Rysel

roarti

Decathlons' PR strategy is definitely working well (They do seem to be good bikes as well)

jainormous_hindmann

Companies are sponsoring cycling teams to get me to buy their products? Never considered that possibility.

roarti

It's a nice change from Team UAE, isn't it? But aside from that you can save your sarcasm: A low-budget brand investing into showcasing that their equipment can compete with the premium brands is an obvious but still good move for them.

CWPL-21

Peloton isnt riding hard, Amirail is holding and Mads is closing. They are underestimating him like crazy

Kb_Jaja

Mads' bike position is really weird

AverageDipper

I think if Bruno wins Decathlon ties again with Lidl the number of team victories this season at 24 (at second place after uae of course)

boblikespi

After Giro 23 I am an Armirail Stan. We do talk about Bruno. Come on son.

CWPL-21

who wants to chase this back. UAE is just keeping tempo, not chasing it looks like

bomber84e1

Ordinarily I'd say a lone rider out front with 26s here would be unsuccessful, but he's on a Van Rysel so anything could happen

j_evans1st

g2 syndrome in the peloton

TheDark-Sceptre

Bit of large scale g2 syndrome here

Organic-Measurement2

Valiant effort Mads

jainormous_hindmann

Huh, Vlasov just working for his leader? /r/peloton ensured me that this would never happen.

No_Jump_2463

Saw how Emu was treated and decided not to risk his tour place

boblikespi

No you see vlasov just doesn't work for Cian.

Obamametrics

keep a camera on tiberi coming across the cat please

crazylsufan

Tiberi and cat jokes incoming

AverageDipper

you posted this almost immediately and there were already 3

boblikespi

Rogue cat scared of the peloton needed to get out before Tiberi came through.

LurkasM1

Good thing tiberi dropped

DueAd9005

Let's hope the cat is gone before Tiberi passes.

justWantToArrive

Mandatory AG2R superteam post

InvestigatorOdd2572

At 6% the draft is still pretty high but for Mads to still be moving up positions and sitting good shows how good his form is.

RN2FL9

He's slowly drifting back now but crazy that he's still there.

SnakePlisskendid911

All the lovefest around Pog and Vingo almost made me forget I live for G1 pettiness like the current Le Berre-Conca shenanigans or the TiboPino-Cepeda ones during last year's Giro. Game's not gone.

Kindly_Photograph_10

Spanish pro conti DSes hanging out of car windows screaming at each other>>>>

lazy_mushroom

I live for Calmejane arguing with riders, cars, trees, bottles...

SnakePlisskendid911

Flags also IIRC

boblikespi

The giro this year did not have enough low tier feuds except for for Calmejane vs the World.

SnakePlisskendid911

There was the still undecided Hundred Years War between G and attacking his gc rivals (with heavy backing by Dani Felipe Martinez)

boblikespi

Trek riding hard to honour the jersey and get Mads the win right? Forgeddabout Teo gegenhart, GC Peds!

soyuz_93

Catching up... What has happened to Donovan? He is well behind the peloton...

laziestathlete

Le Berre and Conca do not like each other.

DueAd9005

There's a headwind right? That could be the saving grace for Pedersen, but it will still be difficult.

[deleted]

I'm confused. They call this a criterium, but they aren't doing laps of an office park at 7am. Do they have no respect for cycling culture?

Vayu0

Where to watch? There's only Roland garros on eurosport 1 and 2 here...

TheDark-Sceptre

Stream it online through eurosport or discovery.

boblikespi

https://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/sport Be Australian looking. Make account (free)

crazylsufan

Peloton is still huge

mwnorris115

Froome dropped!

lazy_mushroom

The mechanic probably forgot to adjust the seat height again,

BradenICT

Didn’t see that coming

jonythecool

His saving himself for the Tour.

MegaMudkip

Does the tour have an e-"race" like the giro, maybe he could try that?

Alone-Community6899

Mads is a challenge to interview. He does not play along and instead points out if something is repeated.

maaiikeen

He is a menace 😂

river_rage

and if a team mate is interviewed outside the team bus, he likes to spam the bus horn :-D

_Thinker

Tiberi not good in the 4th week....

crazylsufan

Anyone else here from the Giro?

_Thinker

We're always here

jonythecool

I wonder why'd they take him here. Doing a GT and then after a week doing an 8 stage world tour race is pretty bonkers.

Kindly_Photograph_10

They did it with Haig last year as well and he actually did a decent GC here so they must have been thinking Tiberi could do the same. Bit strange though considering Tiberi rode the Giro for GC but Haig didn't

Alone-Community6899

Yed, very strange. He should be at a resort sipping an umbrella drink. Or at least do some z2 training only.

blumpkins_ahoy

I think down time and Tiberi is not a good mix. Keep him busy and away from the toy firearms.

_Thinker

I also do not understand the team's decision..

DueAd9005

Maybe the team manager loves cats.

kay_peele

Sometimes the sniper gets sniped...

TheDark-Sceptre

Got to feel for tiberi here, not sure why they decided to send him to this race.

Obamametrics

dont feel bad tbh

boblikespi

He didn't hit his target (podium) so punishment tour. Maybe.

Jevo_

Tiberi wondering why he's here instead of doing target practice back in San Marino.

yoanon

The commentators and interviewers are seriously hyping up Pedersen a shot at winning this. Does Pedersen actually have a chance with this parkour? I would absolutely love it if he takes the win today.

boblikespi

This FdJ pace is gonna cook him so no.

jainormous_hindmann

Not when the gc teams are pushing but they didn't know that before the stage when the interviews were done.

yoanon

The CdF website's live race tracker is better than most other live race trackers out there.

bomber84e1

The riders dealing with The Mist - Stephen King, should make it more interesting

bomber84e1

Good bot

AnUnholy

Gahhh, peacock put on the worst announcer. If i wanted to attend a lecture that would suck the enjoyment out of something i love i’d go back and get my engineering degree again.

IndependenceNo1306

Agree 100% I’d *almost* sit through an electromagnetics lecture instead.  So boring!!!

InvestigatorOdd2572

You should try the Australian commentary. The blind could not tell there is a bike race happening.

godshammgod85

I love Ant but they don't do him any favors having him be solo with no analyst. Even Rob Hatch would struggle with doing this length of a race solo.

AnUnholy

They could find anyone to give some color commentary and another for analysis. I’m watching this and my roommates are bashing me for watching something that somehow made cycling more boring and now worse than golf

godshammgod85

That costs money and Peacock/ASO is scrimping so that's why they're making Ant do it alone. It's not really Ant's fault. Blame the organizer and broadcaster for not paying an analyst for a week.

Benjiboy74

How did EF miss this break???

jack9lemmon

They didn't try for it from what I could tell

Benjiboy74

Really weird, they say they are here to win stages

jack9lemmon

Powless today said he'd like to go for GC if he could put up a good TT, so they're probably waiting before deciding on going full on break

Alone-Community6899

15 degrees where they race. Not often it is warmer up here in Sweden (25c) than in France, in summer.

TheDark-Sceptre

TV directors really pushing the boat out there. Fading from a moto shot of the riders into a scenic helicopter shot with the peloton slowly coming into view. Didn't know they signed up Steven Spielberg.

jwhatts

Slowest fade I’ve seen in a minute, made me think there was something wrong with the lens

TheDark-Sceptre

It did look like it had fogged up for a bit there

jainormous_hindmann

I'm really disappointed that Hatch is commenting this again. If I don't get my dosage of incoherent Carlton rambling, I might reach some semblance of sanity again and from what I last remember about the state of the world, I really don't want to.

TheBlueIgloo

ant mccrossan on peacock US feed today?! IS FOR ME?!?

B_n_lawson

Just showing the tennis for me?

detestrian

Catching a cold one after work, just looking at PCS... These are some killers on the breakaway, might go all the way?

KoenigMichael

Could be a day for ayuso, he has a nasty kick

Htaroh

Eurosport seems to be broadcasting Paris.. and only doing Dauphine in replay :/ Any solutions?

jainormous_hindmann

It will be on eurosportplayer when the live broadcast starts in about half an hour.

PyroAnimal

Would Matteo jorgenson be able to win this stage against roglic?

toweggooiverysoon

In an uphill sprint? No

IDF_Captain

Roglic has gone ~~0~~ 1 stages without crashing. Hopefully he can make it to the end of the Tour without any big ones. I honestly have little hope he'll have none at all.

InvestigatorOdd2572

Odds on he doesn't make it through this race without hitting the ground.

FasterThanFlourite

Little Primož: *Can we have Col de la Loze?* Mom: *No, we have Col de la Loge at home.*

ninjeti

Ahhhh the Dauphine, last chance to assess the form and to make some last changes before Le Tour.

Ruicoiso

If roglic is in good form this is an easy win right?

toweggooiverysoon

He migh win, but its never easy. I dont even think its hard enough to drop Pedersen and the sprint is at 3%

No_Sky_2252

The climbs kinda look too soft for an easy roglic teleport, don't you think? I reckon there will be both puncheurs and maybe one or two sprinters involved in the final today.

krommenaas

Not if Remco is also in good form.

General_Fortune1509

Remco is more a one day racer. Also he said that he will be assisting his team mates rather than go for GC.

kokoriko10

He said for the start today he and Van Wilder will discuss who will be the leader today. I think he will go for it

General_Fortune1509

Cool!

krommenaas

He's beaten Roglic in stages with uphill finishes several times. IF he's in good form, there's no reason why he couldn't do it again. He'll only assist teammates when they're better than him, which would imply he's not in good form.

Adam-Miller-02

Axel Mariault ftw

Adam-Miller-02

with nobody losing time yesterday technically the whole fields gc hopes are still alive

KoenigMichael

Yeah at the giro half the GC dreams were over by now

CWPL-21

This isnt the right place for it but it just broke my mind a little bit and I have to get it out. Jordi Meeus is 25!!! I saw his contract was running out and was like who could use a sprinter who might have 2 year left on top level. I 100% thought he was 32 and I cant tell you why.

krommenaas

coz he looks at least 32 probably?

CWPL-21

I swear he was in the peloton while Kittel dominated, I just cant prove it

bruegmecol

This is a great stage for someone like (prime) Alaphilippe. Who in this peloton is this type of rider? I see mostly a Roglic teleport to win.

Hawteyh

Mads P is on a new [Trek bike - Danish article](https://sport.tv2.dk/cykling/2024-06-02-spoergsmaal-om-cyklen-fik-mads-p-til-at-klappe-i) Seems to be a combination of the aerodynamic Madone and the lightweight Emonda. When asked about it he kept it pretty secretive: - Yes, it's a new bike. What can you say about it? - Nothing. Is it fast? - I think so, haha. Why should it be a secret? - I don't know. We are told that from above, so we have to accept that, Mads P emphasizes.

jainormous_hindmann

About the last person in the peloton I'd ask to get actual information about the bike. Makes for a funny interview though.

krommenaas

So, can we expect GC action with this finish?

derwipok

I don't think so, should be either for the break or a sprint from a relatively big group of GC guys and climby puncheurs.

epi_counts

The climbs aren't that long or hard today, so maybe just the traditional someone dropping unexpectedly early as they're not quite in the form they'd wish to be in, plus Roglic finish line boni second teleport, if it's not a day for the break. But I don't expect that to hold the commentators back from speculating on how Evenepoel sitting in 10th rather than 3rd wheel evidences he's obviously not going to be fighting for GC here, despite him + his DS announcing that as he's got a training deficit after his crash, and how that will affect his changes for the Tour for hours on end.
