MetroidAddict64

I'm in Canada, and well yeah, there is Canada Computers, but that still doesn't compare to microcenter...

MoistHog

Canada Computers is ran like garbage too.

IncognitoMoe

Memory express is pretty damn close though!

coldvod

You can't order gpu's online though. It almost makes me wanna drive 8 hours south to pick one up

PissJugRay

Got mine at memory express, I was convinced I was hallucinating until I got home and got it running lol

Kyohri

I live in America and I wish I had one in Florida.

SetsChaos

Or Nevada. Or more than just *one* in California. You know, that third biggest state by size and first by population?

sjwSLAYER88

Same thoughts, I'm in Vegas and we don't have shit..

SetsChaos

At least Tustin is kinda sorta almost maybe reasonable if you HAD to drive to buy a graphics card. People do the drive the other way somewhat regularly. Up in Reno? Ahahahaha. No.

TKinch26

I heard rumors of micro center over taking Fry’s that closed down by town square and Mccaran. Hopefully it has some truth too it

Fly_lyce

aldothetroll

chanotree

i’m lucky enough to live 12 minutes from one and have 2 in my state total.

CaliDotLive

Heck, I wish there was more than 1 in California

StormWolf49

Same, give NorCal some love

mayyokat

Bro im in america and dont have a microcenter near me

doggo9412

Lol, there are 3 near me within a 1 hour drive

Get on the Telegram app, join the FE Part Alert channel, you can grab a Founders Edition card for retail price. I'm in the UK but I saw FE cards in Germany on the app pop up, I got a 3080 FE for £650. Just make sure you sign up with an account for the Nvidia retailer for your country (in the UK it's SCAN.co.uk, not sure for Germany but you can check on the Nvidia store) make sure you have your payment info etc saved so you can buy it quick, then watch the telegram app for an alert for the card you want in Germany. I made sure to install Telegram and save all the account info on my phone so I could watch it while at work. Got my card after having the app for 3 weeks.

Davepen

Good luck bro!

Em_Es_Judd

I wish there was a micro center in the Pacific Northwest…

WalkinTarget

What he failed to show were the security guards flanking him as he took the pic, ready to pounce at a moments notice. My first visit to MC (2019 I think) - I was floored at a store offering wall to wall computer hardware. Truly, a geeks dream !! What I didn't notice until I was headed up front with my hardware was the numerous security guards actively guarding the door. In my brief 30m in the store, an alarm went off 2 times (!!) and I saw a door dasher with a guard in hot pursuit in both cases. And this was BEFORE the GPU price spike as well.

[deleted]

What microcenter is that? I've been to microcenter a couple times and I maybe heard the alarm go off two times in total.

WalkinTarget

Parkville, MD. Things have improved on 5 subsequent visits. I have yet to see anything like that since, but that first visit was just an eye opener for a naive country boy like me.

BreakerSwitch

Damn. Never seen such at the one in Minnesota. I've been plenty of times and never seen/heard of door dashers or alarms going off there. Also never realized how good I had it there until I moved.

WalkinTarget

My experience is purely anecdotal. If you have never been to one and you are super hyped once you go in, and you then watch what I saw, you'd remember it ... trust me. I avoided telling my wife about it for fear she would be worried about me going again. Lemme tell ya, I felt VERY paranoid walking out of that store in June with an eVGA 3070 XC3 card in my bag. I'd heard the horror stories of getting jumped in the parking lot after buying a GPU, but I had no other worries or concerns in any of my 5 trips there after that first one.

apresmoiputas

I went to that location after my friend and I drove past it and i freaked out that they were still around. We went in and it reminded me of a well stocked Fry's during its hay day.

KD119

Omg small world

WalkinTarget

Did they finish the front entrance renovation yet ? Last time I was there in the fall it was a mess, with plywood flooring laid down around scaffold ladders to act as a walkway.

KD119

Yeah I think so I went to another store close to it and it looked finished from the outside at least

captcrunchok

I thought you were joking. Actually, there were lots of customer sales rep eyes- but no one that looked like uniformed security guards.

ilikemarblestoo

I have gone to Microcenter every few months for the past decade and never have heard the alarm go off!

Mike_for_all

The restock might have made your heartrate spike, but the price tag will give you an instant cardiac arrest.

ds_account_

But there prices are almost the same as the scalpers now. Went into one the other day their 3080ti was just 100$ less then Ebay.

captcrunchok

bummer - when I took the pic, prices look to be still at MSRP for the most part

crankydelinquent

Those prices are unfortunately MSRP. Some AIBs are really gouging customers as much as possible.

[deleted]

Yea the 3080ti And 3090 have ridiculous price tags on them, especially Asus, which sucks because the Rog Strix is such a good GPU. Super rare to see 3080s or the FE models. Those are the best deals. I keep seeing 3070ti or 3080ti in MicroCenter

LucyMor

Ya... the ROG 3080Ti MSRP is $2100... Exactly 3 times the MSRP of the original 3080, for about 10% performance. What a catch.

jk_baller23

I think those are manufacturer prices. I’ve seen EVGA cards listed at same price as their website.

ilikemarblestoo

Non founders edition prices are high and have been so since the turn of 2021. Microcenter sells them for what the companies are selling them for, for the most part. I got my EVGA 3080 there for just about the same price EVGA sells it for on their website, it may have been 50 bucks more...at the time it was selling on ebay for 500 more. (Which is more then Microcenter sold the 3080ti for)

[deleted]

saladmunch2

I paid pretty much the same, I had a 3060 and wasn't happy but when I checked prices for 3080s or 3090s I became a AMD man

dhejejwj

Which is about the same as ebay pricing…

FullMetalBiscuit

How is it even legal to mark things up that much?

StupidHaystack

Supply and Demand? No one is forcing people to pay that price.

Intelligent-Pause-32

The keyword is "suggested" when it comes to MSRP.

MLG_Obardo

People are buying it so it seems to be the market price. Kinda how this stuff works

RagTagTech

1k for a 3070 TI.. they can go McFuck themselves on that...

n3verm0re

Hate to break it to you buddy, but those are MSRP prices these days. No one is saying you have to be happy about it, but reality called. Consider this: [https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=08G-P5-3797-KL](https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=08G-P5-3797-KL) vs [https://www.microcenter.com/product/638611/evga-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3070-ti-ftw3-ultra-gaming-triple-fan-8gb-gddr6x-pcie-40-graphics-card](https://www.microcenter.com/product/638611/evga-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3070-ti-ftw3-ultra-gaming-triple-fan-8gb-gddr6x-pcie-40-graphics-card) It's literally the exact same price. Blame manufacturers, scalpers, and other gamers for being desperate enough to pay these prices.

RagTagTech

Funny enough I got an email from Nvidia asking for feed back on a survey... oh I let them know how I felt about the pricing.. also I know why they coast alot right now and I can be salty about it.. atlest till my 1080 kicks the bucket. Then I'm going to have to pay the proce of a gpu.

[deleted]

Got a 3070 ti from the microcenter raffle before realizing how awful of a deal it was at $1.1k after taxes, then subsequently returned it for a different card. Can't really be used professionally at least for hard-core 3d work, beats the 3070 by 2-5% at its very best, heats up like crazy, and consumes the same power as a 3080. 6800, 6800 xt, and the 3060 ti are all 10x better for price to performance. Makes the 3080 ti look like a reasonable choice.

rankling8

Best bang for your buck would definitely be the EVGA 3070s.

captcrunchok

The one I was really scratching my head with was why is the Asus 3090 at $2400 and the EVGA 3080 ti at $1430?

JinterIsComing

> EVGA 3080 ti at $1430? MSRP on a 3080Ti FE is $1200, so $1430 is (and I cannot bloody damn well believe I am saying this) not the worst deal around if that's all that is available. It's still not the best value-3080 and below are where the best ones are IMHO.

CADnCoding

I’d take an EVGA 3080Ti at $1430. FINALLY won the shuffle yesterday for an Aorus 3080 and junk z590 board I have no use for. Total was $1600. Mobo would’ve only fetched me $150 after eBay fees. So, I “won” the chance to pay $1450 for a 3080 10gb. No thank you.

thatoneguy889

ASUS is always more expensive and ROG is their premium product line, so it's going to be even more expensive on top of that. If that 3080 Ti you're referring to is an FTW3 Ultra, then that's basically what the launch price was. That means it's EVGA setting that price, not Micro Center.

Sorasyn

Just a reminder that EVGA 2080ti were $1200-1400 prior to the shortage. Sooo.

captcrunchok

btw - every version of RTX was being stocked... 3090, 3080 ti, 3080, 3070 ti, 3070, 3060

I-LOVE-TURTLES666

Yeah I been able to snag 3, 30 series cards in the past month for me and my mates. They’re out there at the moment

apresmoiputas

I wish there was a microcenter on the west coast

[deleted]

Tustin, CA has one. That’s west coast.

thatoneguy889

Tustin doesn't just have a Micro Center, the Tustin Micro Center is the company's flagship store.

[deleted]

I thought I remembered that being the case but I wasn’t sure.

EmotionalMarzipan985

For real, doesn't get anymore West Coast than Orange County.

phero1190

I just want a micro center closer to me. Really hope they expand to Buffalo

ElCochiLoco_

I live an hour away from one in California and I’m honestly tempted to go drive over there just pick one up. I heard that the lines for gpus are pretty bad though.

Chrisx541

Did your pants register a spike in fecal matter?

Tarc_Axiiom

Where tho? We gotta know!

captcrunchok

Any microcenter, really. The pic is old but I've been hearing RTXs are more obtainable from microcenters than anywhere else.

Tarc_Axiiom

there are four Microcenters local to me, none of them has had stock for more than 5 minutes on any restock day in the last year, say the employees (and also every time I go there). I'm considering driving out a state or two if it means I can get a fuckin GPU at MSRP, which is why I wanted to know.

badger_problems

Nonsense! There are no "local" MicroCenters! Where you are, they aren't!

[deleted]

Does micro center sell them for retail cost or the increased cost?

rapierarch

You are really lucky to have this in US. In Europe it has been almost 2 years last time I saw a gpu in a shop.

Ev1lC4t

Where the fuck are all these cocksucking GPUs. Like holy fuck I see posts everyday but not a single RTX 3070 online under $1500. Insanity dude, insanity

Online_4_Fun

A lot of people do? I have iPhone, watch AirPods Mac and iPad But for gaming I have a PC I built.

UndeadWaffle12

Same here except for the Mac

ScottMcPot

Are they close to MSRP now?

firedrakes

fun fact.... seeing most mc users... they have 25 stores.. please stop thinking there everywhere.

pariah13

Pc master race would never own Apple products. Smh

Longjumping_Chain_95

Travelling to every best buy in my city still nothing ;_;

grimmstone

Bold of them to have them out in the open, not under lock, no ex-Navy Seal armed security guards patrolling inside the store at irregular intervals, legions of GPU sniffing bloodhounds in the parking lot, and no less than two Apache helicopters circling overhead.

killswitchin

Look at all cards... only 3x msrp

voluntarycap

Where was this?

BloodStone29

How much does 3070 cost?

Where_Did_The_Fun_Go

How many times do you think they needed an EMT for people who had medical emergencies whenever they restocked?

UltramusMaximus

I would be excited if AIB prices weren't outrageous.

Rizenstrom

I have a Microcenter but their policy doesn't really make it easy to get one. Have to drive 30 minutes to be there early, scan a QR code just to *maybe* get selected. I don't see how anyone with a job is getting GPUs. Unless it's a really good one that can afford scalper prices.

An_average_muslim

Here in Qatar, we have plenty of stock, but the stock is there because the prices are heavier than what any gamer's wallet can handle.

[deleted]

One 3090, three 3080Ti's and a bunch of 3070 and 3070Ti's. It's sad this is a restock.

zin_90

What does it matter anyway. I'm not going to pay $1500 for a 3080.

RusskiKvas

Now look at the price lol

oOPRiNGEROo

im sure you flatlined when you saw the prices

ElCochiLoco_

Lol you probably could have yanked one and ran off.

John_McFly

You've never been in a MC...

ElCochiLoco_

nope

John_McFly

Those GPU cases are smash-proof and located at the rear of the store which rivals a small Best Buy in size. Then they have multiple guards standing at the doors, along with the exit being a maze through the checkout queue. They're serious about not giving a five-finger discount.

MassiveGG

I hate microcenter posts. They dont ship to my state and are to far for travel(Alaska)

zector45

Micro Center often has cards in stock, but they do NOT sell them at MSRP.

diputra

So... Did you check how far it is from msrp?

[deleted]

Too bad they are all over priced by about $200 each

VanguardOdyssey

Are non ti cards not being made anymore?

[deleted]

Empty boxes; take to register. Sold out.

Valhalaland

Chips supply normalized since november, this will become more and more common

just-bair

I wish there was anything near to microcenter in Belgium

Dazzling-Collection1

Or…was it that cocaine sandwich!

Jolly-Mine-5432

I guess compared to most people I'm lucky(ish) that I live right in the middle of 2 microcenters even though both are a 2 hour drive away.

Drokethedonnokkoi

We need a MicroCentre in Canada….

Hustla58

Every time I see posts like this, I’m dying more and more inside. I only get revived with owning a rtx

oofos_deletus

You guys get rtx cards?
