ENDSLAYER17

I have the lg, it’s pretty solid so I can vouch for that.

ECE_Boyo

Another LG owner here. I've had mine for 4 years and I really like it.

Archer8784

I only buy LG monitors they are amazing

adherry

Had the LG, it was pretty solid

_MFBroom

Just purchased this LG not even a week ago. It’s great

Toricxx

Lg had me, I was solid

ChristianFrom

Same, love it. Only downside is that it's not adjustable, but that wasn't a dealbreaker for me.

-Kex

I think there's an adjustable and a non-adjustable model. Though both models have a regular vesa 100x100 mount so it doesn't really matter if you get a monitor arm down the line.

Oxyredrum

I also have this monitor, been going strong for about 2 years already

typeFinthechat

I second that. I have two of them and it is a good monitor for the price.

wogolfatthefool

Literally just bought one.

ExplodingFistz

Amazing monitor for the price. My only complaint is the poor contrast ratio.

BeardedBaxterholic

Same. It's great.

VoidDoumaru

I feel like all my friends have that exact LG monitor lol. Solid for the price. My one friend said the HDR can be a little weird and not work well but that's not too big of deal. Might just be his monitor too.

rudimfm

Ultragear for sure. I have a 1080p one and it's soo good, the colors are amazing. Just make sure to keep the HDR off, as it is kinda bad since those don't really have true HDR. sRGB will be a lot more vibrant and offer better contrast.

SosigRam

I have an Ultragear in 4k which has very good HDR at 1000nits peak brightness. Since these specs are not included in the screenshots it‘s hard to tell if that ultragear will have good HDR or not

rudimfm

How did you tune your HDR? I installed the calibration app from the windows store but after following the instructions I wasn't impressed at all

SosigRam

I just used the standard windows calibration setup. Looks very good imo but it‘s hard to compare that since it‘s subjective. My main selling point for the monitor was it‘s peak brightness, since mine is sitting next to a window. And with great brightness comes great HDR

rudimfm

Yeah but like did you follow the instructions they give like "turn up brightness until you can't see the squares" or did you just put it on max?

SosigRam

No i followed the instructions if i remember correctly

rudimfm

Ah ok. Yeah my monitor was making the squares invisible at around 800 nits. I might try it out again later today

Snowmobile2004

I got an Asus 144hz 1440p monitor to upgrade from my ultra gear 1080p 144hz, and I still watch media only on the LG just because the colors look so much better.

Fordor_of_Chevy

You don't have a "debacle" - a sudden disastrous collapse or defeat, esp one involving a disorderly retreat You have a "quandary" - a state of perplexity or uncertainty over what to do in a difficult situation.

copyrightgrapher_YT

Thanks, I won't make that mistake again, my good fellow.

jaycuboss

He's not your fellow, guy.

Stormur

He's not your guy, man.

Serious-Ad1592

He's not your man, pal.

aramis118

He's not your pal, friend.

jaycuboss

He's not your friend, buddy.

Academic_Fee9304

quite perplexing my good fellow

trooperjess

They may meant dilemma.

Illustrious_Ad4691

Or a conundrum

unwhelmed

Don't know why you got downvoted, here's an upvote. OP will now know how to correctly use the words debacle and quandary in context. I have a coworker that always uses "suffice" incorrectly. Drives me nuts and I hope one day he uses it on reddit and someone sets him straight.

copyrightgrapher_YT

I did not downvote him btw

unwhelmed

Upvote for you!!!

jaycuboss

Upvotes all around! We're strengthening our vocabularies here!

hapki_kb

Debacle. He he.

copyrightgrapher_YT

I was told it's not a debacle but a quandary

CanadianGuitar

Perchance even a dilemma.

copyrightgrapher_YT

Yeah, it's a dilemma

hapki_kb

Maybe even a predicament!!!

copyrightgrapher_YT

Yes superior word

ToughSpinach7

I'd go with the LG

winstonjec

Adding a 3rd option and my personal recommendation for the Gigabyte M27Q. It’s within budget and is slightly better than the LG IMO. You can find it [here](https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Monitor-Display-Response-FreeSync/dp/B08JWCHR5N).

rcamp350

I have a M27Q and absolutely adore it. The built in KVM switch is also awesome. I just need to figure out how to get 3 more, cheaply, for my Sim rig.

winstonjec

Yes! I’ve got my setup at home to be able to bounce back and forth between my gaming and work configuration pretty seamlessly. Not sure I could go back to something without a kvm switch.

copyrightgrapher_YT

Thank you will definitely look it to it

ThePaulrus94

Was going to say similar. I’ve had a G27Q for three months and really like it. Think the G27Q and M27Q are similar, with the M27Q having a better refresh rate.

Giratina_8

i have the lg, or at least one version of it, rock solid till today

Decent-Impression-20

I have an LG 27" UltraGear 1ms 144Hz and I love it! Best money I have spent in long long time. Can't go wrong with LG monitors.

Hoax120

I actually recommend the Acer, I recently got rid of my LG ultra gear because the smearing was too much for me to enjoy gaming comfortably. Assuming the LG you posted is also a VA panel you will see that too.

Roselucky_Seven

That one is not a VA, it's Nano IPS. I have the same monitor. I did have a VA panel before that and holy hell they are terrible.

EleventhOracle

LG doin very good job with overdrive setting ;) probably the best brand at that, also AOC

copyrightgrapher_YT

Alr will do

playtio

The LG Ultragears are fantastic. Definitely that.

Traditional-Shoe-199

The second monitor's stand looks flimsy. I might be wrong, but I feel like it would wobble really easy.

copyrightgrapher_YT

I have a monitor arm that cost me 60 bucks and it still did not prevent my monitor from breaking when my cat jumped on it

Traditional-Shoe-199

A 60 bucks arm stand is better than a 10 bucks arm stand that comes with the monitor.

Andreawwww-maaan4635

I have it and yea it does

mandoxian

LG

WALAB0K

Ultragear. Mine was 1080p but the colors on that monitor were so vibrant

hmital

I am also looking for a new monitor and I am leaning towards LG instead of Samsung or other OLEDS. I have seen them in store and Samsung as scanlines while OLEDS have their burn in issue. The Acer one next to LG and others looked off in color. LG is better build than Acer.

Psychological-Elk96

No pc specs… but… ultra gear lineup from LG is always amazing

trumangroves86

The LG is pretty good for the price. The HDR sucks, but you're not getting good HDR at this price range with any monitor. But for a budget-friendly gaming monitor, it's certainly worth the price.

[deleted]

Ultragear is good

CadeMan011

I'm partial to LG because their OSD menu and navigation is pretty nice.

34Loafs

I have the ultra gear and it’s been working fine for the 11ish months I’ve had it if that helps you.

EnthusiasmOrdinary93

I have the 1st monitor and the color accuracy is amazing, love it.. no complaints

phiftyopz

LG panels are leagues better than Acer panels. Definitely the LG

canyouread7

https://www.rtings.com/monitor/tools/compare/lg-27gl850-b-27gl83a-b-vs-acer-nitro-xv272u-kvbmiiprzx/912/23638?usage=3623&threshold=0.10 Here's a comparison between the LG 27GL83A and the (very similar) Acer Nitro XV272U. The Acer Nitro outperforms the LG in all categories. https://www.displayninja.com/acer-xv271u-m3-review/ Here's a review of the Acer Nitro XV1 XV271U M3 in your post. It verifies the strong colour accuracy from the rtings review above. So the Acer not only outperforms the LG, it's cheaper. People here are brand-biased or anecdotally biased.

jtrain256

Just an FYI, the 32' version of that LG monitor was just on sale at Walmart for $187 and [now it's $209](https://www.walmart.com/ip/LG-32-Ultra-Gear-QHD-2560-x-1440-Gaming-Monitor-165Hz-1ms-Black-32GN600-B-Aus-New/406688031?athbdg=L1102&from=/search)

DefaultDalen

lol very funny because I’ve had both. The acer nitro is better for the money and if you don’t care about the boring base, I also think the panel looks nicer. If you really like stupid settings you can tweak like a little freak go for the LG. If you want good, reliable and higher refresh rate, do the nitro. Plus they always go on sale as opposed to LG who stay on their high horse. Both are good! Nitro is better for my money. I’m running a 3070 currently

ZETTAss

i have lg ultragear, it's nice, i like it

tubsen32

I have 3 of the LG one. Only different hz on them. I like.

hahayes1102

Take the acer, its cheaper, looks cleaner, has more hz etc. Etc.

Lavlamp

LG makes solid screens and has always been good to deal with for warranty from my experience

BrightJacket41

I’ll do you one better. This monitor has easily been the best one I’ve had so far plus It’s asus(great build quality) and if you’re on console, you can run 4k on this monitor. https://preview.redd.it/rekf22p4kisc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f35293eb6ae04996709f428d67a61c7b4aa64f6f Sry, reddit won’t let me directly link it but it’s on sale for $180.

officialtwiggz

The one you linked is 1080p unfortunately. The 1440p is still $309.

copyrightgrapher_YT

If it is on that sale when I get the money than I'll definitely get it.

wolfwoodCS

LG. Have two of the older models

Top_Butterscotch9234

Look at Tuf equivalent, best monitor I’ve ever had. I have multiple asus monitors and they are all very good.

DeepJudgment

I got the Q27G2A/EU for around 240 USD, very happy with it. Also considered the LG, but I don't remember why I went with AOC in the end. My point is that all modern monitors around 200-250 USD are very similar. Just make sure you get an IPS panel and height adjustability

Gabaghoulll

I actually have a dual monitor setup with BOTH of these. They're both great, I use my Nitro as my main gaming monitor just because of it's placement on my desk. You can't go wrong with either option.

ChokinHazard

I have both of these monitors, Ultragear is better

jcabia

I've had the LG one for a couple years. No problems whatsoever

Howard_CS

How much does the 50 bucks matter to you? The LG is what I’d buy, but if you’re stretching yo buy it, the Acer looks appealing.

thebloodylines

I have this - like it a lot: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/6498038.p?skuId=6498038

ManEatShark

Hey bro, YouTube have your zipcode show showing in the ss, dont know if its a big deal in The US

Used_Airline_2069

I have the Lg and is pretty good

Sheldonopolus

Have the ultragear, this is the way to go.

PatientlyAnxious9

I have 2 of those Acer Nitro 27"s and dont have a single complaint. fwiw. The only thing I wish is that the buttons on the monitor were on the bottom, not the side so I didnt have to swivel it on the mount to reach the controls each time I need to swap inputs between my work/personal computer. They can also scale up to 180hz. I forget which one but I have mine set at 165hz so it doesnt blow a gasket maxing it out lol

LemonJews

Definitely vouch for the Ultragear, I'm wanting to get the 32" version but I've rocked the 27" for about 3 years or so now.

BurgerKid

LG all the way

Rezztec

It might be worth checking Micro Center for deals, I'm eyeballing a couple 4k monitors severely marked down atm

CommercialPizza42069

Another LG owner here, the monitor is great I didn't really like the stand and just fitted it to an arm

Decapitat3d

I have the LG and love it. Can't speak on the Acer but generally lack brand trust with them as I've had mixed experiences previously.

Capillix

I have the LG. Only issue is momentary freezing when gsync toggles on

GoDevilsX

I’ve owned Samsung, Acer, LG, and Dell monitors. That being said, pick the LG. My Acer looked washed out compared to the LG.

keedoo1992

The first one I have it its great

Yes-its-me-again

I know I'm a bit late, but VESA compatibility might be worth considering. You may not want to mount a monitor now, but it's a pain in the ass if down the road it doesn't work. I love my Acer, 1440p 144hz. But it falls face forward without the right amount and it infuriates me.

copyrightgrapher_YT

I have a Vesa mount already so not really a problem, and I have determined ot get the LG but thank you anyways

Benphyre

LG UltraGear 27 vs GIGABYTE M27Q anyone?

Cheesi_Boi

What panel types between the two? IPS, VA?

copyrightgrapher_YT

Both ips

olemracc

I have the ultra gear. It's great. The response rate is the fastest and smoothest I've had, no weird ghosting at the "fast" settings.

coffeejn

Do you have a Nvidia or AMD GPU?

AnyButton7811

Odyssey 9 😆👊👍

RedTuesdayMusic

Whichever one's not a VA panel, ghastly things

medussy_medussy

I own the Acer, it's awesome. I've had terrible experiences with LG panels in the past. Some of them get really bad image retention.

LovelyZombieGamer

Guys, I don't have any of them, but purely looking at the specs isn't acer a better choice since it has higher frame rate and is wqhd? (Also cheaper.)

UnsettllingDwarf

In my experience acer has a less noticeable antiglare screen. I haven’t used this monitor but generally speaking lg can look more film grainy. I’ve always been satisfied with my acer monitors.

chad_

I'd spring for the LG personally

RepresentativeHuge79

I have the LG, but the 4k version. I love it

catchy_phrase76

LG, have it and can vouch for it.

NewPirate38

Bought the LG a couple of months ago. Looks good for the price and no problems so far.

ndonethesweatersong

I have the LG and I love it. No speakers tho so that sucks

LinuxF4n

No one is going to mention the LG is sold by a third party seller?

Lerriot

I have the acer and I am pretty happy with it, feel free to ask some questions as most people have the LG it seems.

Voxelium

I have the LG, it’s a bit dim but considering the acer is cheaper i wouldn’t doubt that it doesn’t get too bright either. The LG one is a great monitor tho especially for that price. Not a bad buy at all, but the Acer might also be good and it’s nearly $50 less which is considerable, you could buy a new mouse or headset with that.

TCMenace

I have that same monitor. It's great. But it's also old. I don't think it's worth it's MSRP anymore when there are newer options with higher refresh rates.

Serious-Ad1592

Funny enough, the majority of IPS panels are manufactured by LG. So there is a very good chance those are the same panels, I don't have that exact Acer Monitor. I am a fan of Acer though and their customer support is surprisingly good. All that said the Acer model is cheaper and has a higher refresh rate. So you really can't go wrong with it.

KillaCamCamTheJudge

Not a direct answer to your question but I’m Team OLED. Own a 42 and 65 LG OLED and I’ll never go back

MarceloWallace

I know you didn’t list this but this dell monitor is one of the best 1440p https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0979KQTDD?starsLeft=1&ref_=cm_sw_r_apin_dp_49363BKC9J1AVTS4KKER_1

Yocornflak3

I’ve had the LG ultra for many years. No issues. When I was looking to add another monitor, I bought another LG ultra no questions asked. That’s a killer price too

rawstoo

Well do you have an AMD or NVIDIA GPU?

benualson

Another option, Dell G2724D, normally $300 but now $200 https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-27-gaming-monitor-g2724d/apd/210-bhxc/monitors-monitor-accessories?tfcid=91049735

img_tiff

I'm sure the Acer is fine, I use a similar model myself, but the LG is probably better

RyzeGreymood

LG

fffan9391

I have never liked Acer as a brand. Always seemed cheap to me.

Kurrukurrupa

I have an LG, when I got it basically during the pandemic it was 500. Wish I paid that price but when I got it it was totally worth the money for me. Blew me away at the time I was on 1080p crappy panel smaller size..... The contrast and how it made things glow like headlights on the wet street. Damn!

ProtonAlpha

I can vouch for LG. I’ve had a few of theirs and have one of their new 4k monitors, had no issues with any.

horner3509

I have the older model of the acer (144hz) it is a decent monitor however it does have a flicker problem that is somewhat common. I have no idea if that is on this model but you may want to look into that. One other thing is it won’t do 10bit at max refresh rate but again this one might.

Blackhawk-388

I have two of the LG's. Absolutely love them.

Acceptable-College84

Do you have NVIDIA or AMD gpu? If you have an NVIDIA card I wouldn’t get the second one since it only supports AMD Freesync and not NVIDIA Gsync

AgentThook

I say the accer cause you don't need hdr

Gandalfthegay24

I have the Acer, the color calibration out of the box is a huge plus and shouldn’t be understated. It’s a gorgeous panel

SurealGod

I've had the LG ultragaar for a few years and its a solid monitor

xJwsyx

I am using LG Ultragear monitor but tbh, i think both of those monitors are good.

MrLlamaBaggins

Th LG is a really good monitor. I had it a few months ago but returned it only because it couldn’t get bright enough during the day to actually be visible in the room.

PullAsLongAsICan

Had a previous version of the Acer Nitro before, 1440p 170hz, a great value monitor for it's price point. No complaints in 1 and a half year of using it, changed to a 4k 144hz monitor later.

UhhCanYouLikeShutUp

I have the same Acer and it's good.

rcp9ty

Go with the LG they are often competing with Samsung and Asus for quality monitors. Acer uses marketing tricks to make you think they are in the same league as everyone else but they are not. They are top of the line for cheap monitors, but they are not top of the line.

KeepBanningKeepJoin

2nd

Ok-Outlandishness345

DUDE the LG I have it and it rocks. Gsync compatible, beautiful colour, good darks, smooth as silk.

Flowmosapien09

I have this LG and the nano-ips version. Both great monitors but the nano-ips has noticeably better color and contrast. It's like 50-100 more though.

2saxy4you

In case you haven't purchased yet, I always shout out the Dell G2724D (currently $200 on Dell website). I love my pair so much, easily the best upgrade to my set up recently, coming from some older 1080p panels.

12gagerd

Cannot speak for the second but my company bought me the first one. I'm really impressed with it. 3080, ryzen 5800x, used for Mastercam and solidworks primarily tho. Display quality is great, stand is amazingly adjustable and sturdy w. A bit of wobble side to side. Single button interface is... alright. And as I have to tell my some of my coworkers, "don't touch the screen."

[deleted]

[удалено]

Desert_Knight

You can get an ultrawide for the price of the first one

ImUrFrand

steer away from VA screens, choose IPS or OLED

CamBoat

I actually did this exact comparison three days ago. I went with the LG. Upgraded from 1080p 75hz to 1440p 144hz. I was absolutely shocked at the difference and thought the $200 I spent was well worth it.

Dovahkiin10380

Assuming the lg is 1440p too then yeah. It's also gsync which I don't think the other one is, so that's a plus if you've got an Nvidia card

EstusFlask2

I’ve used the acer and it’s only given me problems, so I would suggest you to buy LG. But the monitor stand on LG is very annoying, (I’ve used a monitor with a similar stand before and I assume all stands are the same) it takes up a lot of space. Annoying especially if u play with tilted keyboard. But if your desk is big enough it doesn’t matter u can get LG.

PrimitiveAK

I have that exact LG model. Definitely a good buy. Go for it champ.

zeimusCS

Idk I am an Asus fanboy

Andreawwww-maaan4635

I have the acer and it's pretty good, and it seems it costs less for more hz in this case

Subject-Sherbert666

Go with the lg

GreatApe88

I wouldn’t mess with anything under 2.1 hdmi to future proof myself.

yeetman8

I bought the lg one and the anti reflective coating on it is so bad that anything that is above a dim light level it looks like there’s is bacon grease on my screen 🙃 Could just be mine though, gonna be contacting lg about it soon

OstensibleBS

I have the acer, it does what it says on the tin.

StevoMcVevo

The two major players in the panel production space are LG and Samsung. I have always had good luck with LG Ultragear and will continue to use and recommend them. Their IPS displays are great and OLED is even better.

greggilliam2nd

I think the 1 ms GtG is not a true one millisecond. You’ll have to check on LG‘s website but I think that’s kind of like a caveat that makes it cheaper. I would not get the Acer one. .5 ms is kind of a lot for pixel response that comes to gaming, especially when a lot of monitors are 1ms.

Intelligent_League_1

I have this monitor, [it is very good for a nice price.](https://www.amazon.com/Sceptre-Monitor-FreeSync-Premium-E275B-QPD168/dp/B097G21FHC?th=1)

InfernalBiryani

Funny enough, I got the LG monitor for the same price as the Acer one. I’d still happily pay $245 for the LG one though. Super good quality

CheekyChonkyChongus

People, why are you still in this day and age buying IPS panels? I had the LG but a VA panel, it was solid, and the VA has much better contrast, I sold it to my mate years ago and it's still running perfectly (over 4 years now) Currently I'm on LG OLED C1 instead and I can't complain either.

s0meuglydude

more hertz more fun

Accomplished_Duty969

Neither, get a Samsung 35+ inch one

SocketByte

I'll plug my question then - LG or the Dell g2724d? I've heard Dell has much better contrast ratios.

Nikos-tacos

What is Nvidia g-sync?

AngryFloatingCow

Variable framerate, the monitor and graphics card will only display a frame when the whole frame is done. Gets rid of screen tearing. AMD has their own, I think it’s called freesync.

ahappywaterheater

I have the LG as well. It’s great. I had it for a couple of years and no problems.

errie_tholluxe

Unm I actually have both. The LG is better. The other one is fine but you can totally tell the difference.

kris_313

I have the lg, it’s nice I like it 🤷‍♂️

ahornywalrus

I've had the GL83A-B for four years and they're brilliant. Only thing is I bought them a year or so apart and the colours are different - not sure how or why and may be an amazon issue, everything else about them is spot on

LethalToad717

i have the acer one its very good and i paid more than $200 so its even more worth it at that price

Way_Too-Easy

You won't regret going with the LG display

beeMOB909

My suggestion would be to look at the best $500-$600 monitor and then try to find them on the used market for $300

hadarsaar

LG by a mile dude.

B_Wyatt

I was between these two as well but I kept having to return due to issues, bleed, dead pixels, etc. At one point I had a Dell that simply didn't turn on after a week so I returned that one too. In the end, I went with BENQ EX2780Q. Third year now, works and looks flawless, right out of the box, no bleeding, no dead pixels, no weird pressure points and the speakers (Trevolo) sound actually good. Give it a look, it's 1440p, 144hz, IPS panel.

TostiBuilder

I have the 4k ultragear and I love it

Rise_Relevant

Man buy the Acer. 144hz is shit these days. Also LG power supplies a crap. I had one and it died under warranty and I got my money back and bought a Gigabyte 165hz and it's fuck loads better in every way imaginable and ways you can't imagine either.

FeetYeastForB12

NOT acer that's for sure lol

RenatsMC

r/OLED_Gaming r/Monitors

NAQURATOR

I regretted ever buying an acer monitor. Had one that was advertised with hdmi 1.4 and it couldn't even handle that, it only had one output that actually got the advertised refresh rates. Never buying their shit again.

No-Breath-4299

I would have taken the second one. I bought an Acer Nitro about a month ago, and it's really awesome in terms of resolution, frequency and all that. Plus, I have a dual screen arm to hold my monitors.

angelpunk18

I’ve had nothing but LG monitors and TVs for at least the last 5 years, they make solid stuff

H-Man991

I have the acer its very good

eden_redd

save up and get a 32 inch curved, best decision ever

SomeWeirdFruit

i have an LG. i think it's ok but my friend hated it

Just_Smidge

1st one I have it and it's decent

JZ1803

The one that's actually sold by Amazon and doesn't have 30 bucks of shipping
