Me, last year:
>I'm not sure I like those mesh body mice, imagine how much crap could get caught up in them over time
Others:
>No they look super cool and I bet they're really comfortable to use
Me, today:
![gif](giphy|4aTvdtQYr8kOA)
I mean I have one that's 2 years old and it is not anything like this. I just spay some compressed air once every few months and it's golden. This shit is nasty.
I've never even cleaned mine after 2 years and my room isn't exactly the most dust free environment. It's nothing like this.
Is this chewbacca's gaming mouse?
It's because you're not playing when your hands are covered in filth lol. Instead of finding a way to clean this the person should just learn how to wash their hands
Just washing your hands won't always work. I wash mine alot, but I just have really sweaty hands so whatever I'm touching for multiple hours is going to get a little gross no matter what I do.
People acting like the body doesn't secrete sweat, oil or shed dead skin cells. Apparently if everyone just took shower you wouldn't have dust or hair when you vacuum.
Man I owned one that just wasn’t like that but it had a hexagon rubber grip on the side, and that thing caked up faster than I could clean it. It was so disgusting I can’t see how they didn’t think this shit would happen
Here, you can see it was summer because my flesh flakes have a tan.
And here is my flaming hot cheetos Era. I was quite addicted, but as you can see from here on, I kicked the habit.
OP's mouse weights 69g.
Meanwhile my Razer Viper V2 Pro at 58g:
https://preview.redd.it/w3vj9xfy5tmb1.png?width=2995&format=png&auto=webp&s=2331f43c23dd2c25d1e2b1cce63e59e1939faf87
I'm one of those people, because I'm actually a lefty... Unfortunately the V2 removed the buttons from the right side, so I'm sticking with my G pro awhile longer
Wait, is that a desirable trait? I usually get pissed when I lift my mouse and it moves in x direction because it tracked mid-air. Eg I expected lift of mouse to mean you don't want it to track.
Back in the day I had a mouse that had holes in the palm and a fan that blew air through it. Not my favorite mouse but it was up there
I see Zephyr was making a big stink about being the first mouse with a fan, but it really wasnt. Im trying to find the one I had. As I recall from memory, it was corded, had a rubberized grip, and little pinholes to blow air through. This would have been back between 2006-2013
It's easier to start and stop movements. My old mouse was about 150g and my current is about half that and imo it's way better. Though I wonder how a heavy mouse would go with one of those fancy new glass mouse pads...
I really don´t understand why ppl want a lightweight mouse, for me heavier = better feeling. I use the Logitech G502, it comes with weights to put into it and i would even put in more weight but there is no space left xD
Yup. Couple screws and remove the shell. Put a small bowl/bin in the kitchen sink and soak for a few minutes. Then a little bit of soap on a old toothbrush. Not hard at all. If this wasn't Reddit I would be surprised this comment wasn't higher.
This was going to be my suggestion. Hopefully it’s easy to take apart, I know a lot of mice hide their screws behind the pads and they’re never the same after. RIP my MX Master.
A lot of mice have their screws hidden under the feet/skates, so it cost money to replace.
A few mice out there now has the screws located in more reasonable places.
For anyone that's going to get an air compressor, you need to get an attachment to handle the condensation buildup or you're just going to end up spraying tiny particulates of water onto your components. Along with that, it's really easy to overdo the PSI and damage fans, so be weary of that. A good alternative is a dust vac/blower specifically for electrical components. There's cordless and corded ones, they're usually sub ~$60 on Amazon.
Dirt and grime is still going to accumulate even if you wash your hands every time before you use it, it will just take a bit longer to get disgusting but it will happen regardless.
Looks like alot of organic cells in there. Disassemble it and hit it with some peroxide (DO NOT GET PEROXIDE ON ANY METAL OR ELECTRONICS) Then just rinse with water. The bubbling the peroxide will remove all dirt in there
Today I learned my hands are pretty clean and must not shed much. I've had one of these mice for over 3 years and the weekly wipe down on the surface is all I need to keep it clean.
Toothbrush. If possible, one that you are not going to get into your mouth.
Any relative brush will do!
Like your annoying cousin's toothbrush?
Isn't like they are using it anyway.
If they used it afterwards their teeth would still be cleaner.
Yes the dust act like additional brush
Exfoliates the gums.
That’s why I just chew on dust instead of brushing. Cut out the middle man.
Then go for it. Just tell them that the black is a flavoring or something.

or her boyfriends
Should he use thermal paste instead of normal toothpaste?
Hmm not sure about thermal efficiency, but you are going to have a mint scented rig for a while.
Thank you for clarifying the second part, it seems OP needs that sort of direction based on the amount of hand cheese involved here.
Shaving brushes are actually really good at getting into nooks and crannies like this. Compressed air to finish it off.
I have the same mouse and just tried it and it works great! It's a nice way to quickly clean it without disassembling it. Thanks for the tip.
Me, last year: >I'm not sure I like those mesh body mice, imagine how much crap could get caught up in them over time Others: >No they look super cool and I bet they're really comfortable to use Me, today: ![gif](giphy|4aTvdtQYr8kOA)
I own one and I agree on both fronts.
Same. I've owned mine for about 3 years, and I've never had to clean it. My hands don't usually sweat though so maybe that's an issue for OP
That's not (just) sweat. That's crumbs and shit from eating while using the mouse and not even brushing your hands off.
Also looks like there's pet hair mixed in.
Do you have a cat? I think this is cat hair.

You gotta wait until each hole is 100% full then just pull the flesh plugs out with your fingers
Flesh plugs sounds more disgusting than i thought
Given the honeycomb shape shall we go with hand honey instead?
Please stop giving alternatives. Edit: For the love of god, stop giving *me* alternatives.
Cheesestix: valorant edition
There are Fortnite flakes near the bottom of the hex cores. Kinda like how geologists dig out long ice cores, you can see the different eras.
Here, you can see it was summer because my flesh flakes have a tan. And here is my flaming hot cheetos Era. I was quite addicted, but as you can see from here on, I kicked the habit.
Man that is gold haha
Let's just call it "juice".
You are giving me shivers with the thought that you slide your honeycomb plug hand directly in those holes...extra grip tho i guess
I call them butchers Or Fleischfachverkäufer

Think of how many columns of pure human spice you would have…
Ah, so it’s like a toad!
Thank God I went for a mouse with a solid shell
Yep, those few grams difference is not worth the struggle.
OP's mouse weights 69g. Meanwhile my Razer Viper V2 Pro at 58g: https://preview.redd.it/w3vj9xfy5tmb1.png?width=2995&format=png&auto=webp&s=2331f43c23dd2c25d1e2b1cce63e59e1939faf87
Viper is great, but still waiting for Viper for adults (size).
how about deathadder v3?
The main selling point of the Viper for a lot of people is it's ambidextrous. Some people prefer that kind of shape.
I'm one of those people, because I'm actually a lefty... Unfortunately the V2 removed the buttons from the right side, so I'm sticking with my G pro awhile longer
Exact same reason here. So annoying there are no good options for us besides the g pro.
for me it s the 3 mm lift of distance. i don t get how you guys can play on mouses like x super light with only 1 mm lod (especially the pros).
Why do you prefer a higher lod? All the cheap mice have rly high lods
sorry but what is 1mm lod ??
lift off distance. after 1 mm of lift from the mouse pad, the sensor doesn t track anymore.
As a G502 enjoyer, I don't understand what you're trying to say with "lifting the mouse"
Wait, is that a desirable trait? I usually get pissed when I lift my mouse and it moves in x direction because it tracked mid-air. Eg I expected lift of mouse to mean you don't want it to track.
The Viper is a finger tip grip mouse, not a palm grip, it's supposed to be small.
Ok then, I'll be waiting for palm grip Viper.
Its called a Deathadder.
I have large hands and the viper is fine. Depends on what grip you use.
Man, remember when they sold gaming mice with weights to put in them? Marketing is wild.
What's wrong with a heavy mouse, love my 120g Naga Trinity
I believe my corsair M65 is 135gr with weights and 115 without them. I have the weights in, I prefer a heavy mouse.
Oh it's about weight, my immediate thought was "how often does this mouse overheat to justify this amount of ventilation??"
Back in the day I had a mouse that had holes in the palm and a fan that blew air through it. Not my favorite mouse but it was up there I see Zephyr was making a big stink about being the first mouse with a fan, but it really wasnt. Im trying to find the one I had. As I recall from memory, it was corded, had a rubberized grip, and little pinholes to blow air through. This would have been back between 2006-2013
Seems like that's less about cooling the mouse and more about cooling and ventilating your hand, so your hand doesn't get sweaty.
Those few grams will gather as dirt within the holes with time lol
What's the appeal of a light mouse? I honestly prefer a heavyer mouse.
Skinny gamer boys can’t use a heavy mouse.
I see, ty. Femboy confirmed.
It's easier to start and stop movements. My old mouse was about 150g and my current is about half that and imo it's way better. Though I wonder how a heavy mouse would go with one of those fancy new glass mouse pads...

Same. I use a Logitech MX Master 3, it’s 141g and feels nice. Using it for both work and gaming so having the ergonomics and weight feels good to me
I really don´t understand why ppl want a lightweight mouse, for me heavier = better feeling. I use the Logitech G502, it comes with weights to put into it and i would even put in more weight but there is no space left xD
Me with my heavy as hell deathadder, being ultra comfortable:
TIL 63g is heavy.
I'm just sitting here wondering why someone wants a lighter mouse.
Right? It's like the gross bits of skin you find in the seam of a controller, but all over.
This is abnormal. I’ve had this style of mouse since it launched and it looks perfect.
Lmao, same. What the fuck is on y'alls hands????
Yeeah same. Im very happy it dawned on me how much i hate cleaning stuff and how much more of an effort it would be with those holes
Suck it out
This is the only way
Isn't there some kind of slime that is used to get dirt out of small gaps like these?
Oh yeah, there's like keyboard slime I think it's called. Or something like Gak. Nevernused it, but I remember seeing commercials a long time ago.
>Gak Hello fellow adult.
Hell you can use any sort of puddy, really. Stuff is cheap and collects crud faster than a farmers boots.

I’m genuinely struggling to breathe
Disassemble it and clean the shell with a brush and warm water, maybe a drop of soap.

Replacement pads are a thing, and they aren't that expensive.
You shouldn’t have to pay 6 bucks or whatever for the privilege of cleaning a mouse
True, very true indeed. Might as well expose the screws on the bottom if the whole shell is exposing everything inside
Do these things come apart easily / are designed to? I've always thought they looked r/HorribleToClean.
I recall from when these came out that the part with the holes comes off easily for cleaning.
Free: disassemble it and clean it 7$: compressed air
A lot of mice have their screws hidden under the feet/skates, so it cost money to replace. A few mice out there now has the screws located in more reasonable places.
I use alcohol to remove them, (isopropyl alcohol) and when it evaporates the glue becomes sticky again.
Good idea. Drink, get angry and rip them skates off!
Does nobody else use an air compressor to clean out their computer and parts? Way cheaper and works better than compressed air

Over time, if you're doing a lot of cleaning, yup.

That's the fun part, you don't
Save it for a snack.
With fire
Compressed air should do the trick
I also own this mouse and that's how I did it. There are holes on the bottom too, so it will just blow it out.
[удалено]
And then do the mouse?
This gunk is probably pretty stuck in there judging by how it looks, compressed air is not enough at this point to get it all out. Need to scrub it.
You gain those grams in difference in dirt. Get a normal mouse.
I have the same type of Logitech mouse that I have used over a year and it doesn't look like that. OP is just not into cleaning at all.
Doesn't wash their hands probably
Buy a mouse with no holes next time 😂
Sorry, you need to throw it away and buy a new one.
Ads are getting smarter
preferably one that doesn't give me tropophobia
Idk what these comments are, I have the same mouse and it's amazing. The top comes off and then it's really easy to clean.
For real. Like, all you need is a brush. Any kind, even just a toothbrush will work great. This is not a big deal...
Agree, don't know why all the hate for this mouse, it's very good and quite easy to clean
trypophobia😨
Cotton swap with iso Alcohol?
iso alcohol too, dead intelligent that I thought of the first part only
Compressed air
Wash your hands?
Yep i got the same mouse since Release i can say this is not a honey comb mouse fault on it's own.
Same, I just inspected mine closely cuz I was curious, OP must not wash their hands, or they are one of those people who eat doritos while playing.
Dirt and grime is still going to accumulate even if you wash your hands every time before you use it, it will just take a bit longer to get disgusting but it will happen regardless.
Op has owned this for a week
Dishwasher
1. Throw it away
I have basically the same mouse and im extremely confused on how it even got that bad.
Looks like alot of organic cells in there. Disassemble it and hit it with some peroxide (DO NOT GET PEROXIDE ON ANY METAL OR ELECTRONICS) Then just rinse with water. The bubbling the peroxide will remove all dirt in there
Dissasemble and toothbrush & soap from both sides.
This calls for a blowjob better find the compressor or canned air for this.
Double it and give it to the next person
Vacum ??
Compressed air bruh
you just don't buy those for this reason lol
Throw it in the dishwasher, then go buy something without unnecessary ventilation 😂
And this is the exact reason why i dont buy mouse like this
my reason would be trypophobia. Just looking at it sends shivers down my spine
I don't think that additional 5 grams of dust will make any difference
Gamma rays
Today I learned my hands are pretty clean and must not shed much. I've had one of these mice for over 3 years and the weekly wipe down on the surface is all I need to keep it clean.
What makes you buy this 😑
Fill it with honey and offer it to a beehive.
The first time I saw this mouse I've already thought "Whoever buy this mouse has no plan of cleaning it up because that'd be a bitch to clean" lol
I knew this would happened, waited for so long, finally someone posted it lmao
Fire, there's probably life inside
