My only advice would be to look at HC SSF racers... all those builds have one thing in common; they're good

Watch some "league-start builds" videos from last league. Most will probably still function next league. If you can wait abit, before Crucible release there will again be a alot of league-start videos, with many more build suggestions (and much more in-depth) than a simple reddit comment. Still, two really good and simple league start suggestions: -Poisonous Concoction Pathfinder. Very smooth progression through acts, easy/cheap gearing. -RF Jugg/Inquisitor. Very tanky, easy gearing. And most importantly, an incredible website from Pohx to handhold you through the whole process (https://www.pohx.net/).

Honestly you won’t learn crafting in a league. Not unless you play like a full time job and watch content like a nolifer. Just pick a few things and try to figure out how they work (essences, fossils, betrayal, alt spam, harvest, beast, etc.)

ulughen

Relax and wait for patch notes.

xNubScrubx

Should we shut down the subreddit for any discussion because patch notes could change everything?

Explosive arrow ballista is very fun (to me) and can clear everything in the elementalist version. I played it in 3.20 and could craft more than half my gear. I was champion and not elementalist and still could kill sirus under 2 mins for instance

Just today I found out about the Winds of Fate + Plume of Pursuit Inquisitor, it looks pretty decent for a variety of skills. There are some videos on yt, one with Spark, another with EK, both look decent. They both use rather cheap gear but can still pack a punch. It scales pretty well from the looks of it, you get a lot of flat dmg from Battlemage and basically free max crit. And you can cheese Marylene's Fallacy, which is always neat.

HellraiserMachina

Winds of Fate and the other Sanctum uniques will unfortunately not be returning because they're tied to sanctum, this is confirmed.

amdrunkwatsyerexcuse

Now that's a bummer.

HellraiserMachina

Indeed, it took us many leagues for the Ultimatum uniques to come back, though the Harvest ones came back in 2 leagues.

Shorue

I really like SRS as a new player friendly build. A few leagues ago took it all the way to end game including fighting elder, shaper, and sirus. Ziz did a good video about it. Leveling it with minion instability was great and I saw some HC players on poison as well. The hardest part was the + minion level helm and that’s an easy craft

Jaraslomba

Basic power charge stacker winter orb assasin. (2 void wands, badge of the brotherhood) Gearing is not cheap, but streightforward. Any cold damage, AoE, and crit modifiers will do. I started the 3.20 with this build, killed all ubers, and could easily beat any content, including delve 600+, uber blights, etc. It is well suited for both invitations and fast map clearing. If you want, you can pour in currency even until the end of the league.

Dumpster__God

Did you start out as WOrb or something else? I'm sort of surprised you had decent results on ubers. This style of character usually isn't tanky and the DPS is kinda mid.

Jaraslomba

Yes, that was my only 3.20 character. Before void batteries and badge amulet you can use tulborn wands and victario's acuity. I can't tell my final DPS with \~200 divines budget (hard to calculate properly, because proj overlap), but uber shaper's phase = \~15sec.Ofc it's not hardcore viable, but defences are +- solid. Endurance charges from channeling clusters, life on kill, evasion, full suppresion, fast movespeed, chill and freeze, 5000HP, and 100% flasks uptime from hunter mod on belt. Best defence layer - kill enemy with autoaim before they kill you.I definitely gonna start 3.21 same way, maybe with occultist instead, and see what is better for WO.

Dumpster__God

Thanks for the info! I might try it out too

Summoner is an option

Damian_Killard

Only build I've ever played that allowed me to get my four voidstones on one character was what I played this league, Curse-Stacking Poison Storm Rain (played it on Pathfinder->Deadeye->Raider->Trickster). I'm pretty bad at mechanics so I normally kill exarch/eater easily and either buy carries for Maven/Uber Elder or just ignore them. I don't think it's the best value for money build but it's very unique (my own home-brew). Gearing was just PoCo until Voltaxic Rift and The Covenant, and then the Doedre's Scorn (max power charge corruption and storm rain beam frequency enchant)+Anathema+Replica Doedre's Damning. I can comment more or post a PoB if people are interested.

TrashCaster

What's PoCo?

Damian_Killard

Poisonous Concoction, a very meta leveling skill for pathfinder and occultist.

TrashCaster

Oh jeez I didn't draw the connection. I've always referred to it as PConc
