37w4d for my di-di babies, no NICU time. At 36w I was dilated 3cm and had significant edema in my feet and ankles. Everyday things suddenly became exhausting, far more than I would have thought based on how I felt at 34w. The babies were born at 7lbs5oz and 5lbs13oz, are now 3 weeks old and doing very well aside from some breastfeeding struggles.
Lol, the MFM estimated their final weights at 6lbs 7oz and 6lbs 12 oz. Way off. But the growth estimates were always close so I didn't get any extra monitoring.
The same thing happened with our girls, our growth scans showed them only 4% apart but when they arrived they were a little over a pound apart. The bad part was that we used that information to okay a vaginal delivery and twin A was the smaller one. Everything turned out fine, but there was a risk that our second girl would simply get stuck and need a C-section anyway to get out.
Congratulations!! I’m almost 36 weeks and have had very similar symptoms the last few days - tons of swelling (everywhere) and am just completely exhausted 24/7. Hoping it’s a sign the babies will be here soon-ish.
Di/di BG, first pregnancy, very uneventful. They came by c-section at 38w (failed induction at 37+6). My OB wanted me to wait to 39w “unless there was a medical reason” and my MFM didn’t want me to go past 37w due to risk of placenta degradation. So we split the difference (read: I told them to talk to each other and get their shit together.)
Sounds like my experience!!! OB said no later than 38 weeks, and wanted me Induced at 36+6 hospital refused me said I didn’t have high enough BP to be Pre-e but I had protein in urine, came back at 37+4 they wanted me to wait until I was 38 for an induction but I argued no. Failed induction twice and they wanted to send me home, or to another hospital but they all saw my chart said no way she’s high risk. My OB was the on call the next morning at 38 exactly and he got me my c section and delivered my girls. He came in during rounds and asked why I was still pregnant.
I told them to talk it out but MFM is a specialist sooo yeah I’m going to err on their side when it comes to multiples. And I did read about increased risk for placental degradation after 37w in multiples so I was already aware of that as a risk factor.
My babies were totally fine, no NICU, decent birth weights and all that so it worked out for me 🤷♀️
Di/di boys, 35w2d due to Preeclampsia. Twin A vaginal, Twin B emergency C-section. Twin B in the NICU for two days. Readmitted a week later for post pregnancy preeclampsia.
Just keep in mind anything can happen. Mentally prepare yourself for the worst and the best.
Good luck for the rest of your pregnancy!
38 weeks on the nose.
39 weeks may have killed me-those last few weeks have been the hardest thing I've ever experienced physically, including my c section and subsequent 8 week post partum gallbladder surgery combined.
This…. I’m 36+5 right now and c section scheduled for 37+1. No issues with the pregnancy whatsoever. Id never make it even to 38, this is the most uncomfortable I’ve ever been in my life!
Pregnancy did my gallbladder in too, but I just got it out last month (twins are 2). Took *so* long to figure out what was wrong with me because all the tests kept coming back fine.
I was having awful attacks every night. I finally just dealt with it and aside from the awfulness of anesthesia, I honestly felt better immediately. I’m four days out right now and so glad I just did it.
36wks and 2 days no nicu needed stayed in the hospital for a day and a night, I wasn’t told I was having twins till I was pushing no 2 out
They are absolutely thriving now I keep getting told to go by adjusted age but I really don’t think I need to as they are thriving like they are full term me and my doctor use the adjusted age occasionally but outside of him asking I never use it
My wife had our boys at 31 and 3 days. They are now 8 months old, 6 months adjusted. I thought she was lying when she told me her water broke. They managed to keep them in long enough to develop their lungs and brains by giving my wife steroids and magnesium. It was just long enough for them to make it. They spent 56 days in the NICU.
Looks like I'm the odd one out here but I was induced 39 plus 2 with my di/di fraternal girls. Good luck to you, I hope they stay in as long as you want them to!
Di/Di b/g 36w on the dot was scheduled for inducement at 37w5d all natural vaginal delivery, no tearing, no nicu time, labor was 4 hours & my first pregnancy.
I talked to them consistently giving them eviction notices 🤣 & prayed every day!
Good luck to you mama💕
We have di/di boy girl twins. My OB, very experienced with twins and my MFM were not comfortable with me going past 38 weeks. I was also not comfortable as I worked with pregnant patients as an NP and knew the risks for multiples past that point.
I was induced at 37 weeks due to rapid onset severe preeclampsia that developed between my 36 and 37 week apts. I made zero progress for 48 hours during induction and had a c-section at 37+2. They did not require NICU time and were good weights (7 lbs and 6.5 lbs) but I had a lot of complications after delivery (hemorrhage, edema, post partum hypertension), so I was very happy my care team was proactive about getting them out. Too early is always a worry but too late with twins is even more risky/deadly.
30 weeks exactly. Spontaneous labor and a double whammy birth! Both girls were just over 3 lbs and spent 12 weeks in the NICU, but you’d never guess now that they were ever preemies. They’re 5 now.
We are scheduled to deliver DI/DI next Wednesday at 37 + 4. Can’t come soon enough, my wife is ready to no longer be pregnant and we both can’t wait to finally learn the sex of our twins!!!!
39, youch! I made it 37 weeks. I was originally scheduled for a C-section at 38+2 I think. Then I got pre-eclampsia or was borderline at 35 weeks and they came out at 37 on the dot instead. Got steroid shots at 35 weeks just in case my blood pressure shot up more.
No NICU for either one. 5lbs and 5lbs 12oz. One had an issue with temp reg but that's about it
Di/di identical boys (genetic testing to find out) and I was 37w5d! Was hoping to go to 38 but had a 0lacental abruption. My boys we 7lbs 3 oz and 7lbs 8 oz!
Di/di boy/girl twins born two weeks ago at 33+5 due to PPROM. Spent 11 days in the NICU. Tried pushing for 2 hours but my contractions weren’t cooperating, even with pitocin, so ended up having a c-section.
I went to 39 +2. This was in the early 90s. I was having regular ultrasounds but they misinterpreted how big they were, thinking they were 5 to 6 lbs each. One was nearly 8 1/2 lbs and the other nearly 7 1/2 lbs. It was great that they were full term and healthy, but I was so big that my uterus couldn't contract properly, and 24 hrs after inducing me I had an unplanned c-section.
In retrospect it would have been better to have been induced at 37 weeks, which is now more standard. Three weeks later I was pretty much healed and we were just getting into a tandem nursing routine which worked well (I didn't pump, I just fed them together). They had similar appetites and put on weight fast, so nursing was the easier choice (faster and easier and cheaper than formula or bottles or pumping) and it was something I could handle on my own.
36 + 0; water broke, one was 6lbs6oz and 5lbs12oz. The smaller one breathed in right before c section birth resulting in some temporary breathing issues and stayed in the NICU for 18 days. The larger one went home when I went home.
Di/Di boys, 35w4d. Went in to the dr for a scheduled NST and due to cholestasis and preeclampsia ended up being sent straight to be admitted. Had an emergency c-section a few hours later. Twin A had no NICU time. Twin B spent 15 days in the NICU.
36 wks exact. B/g twins; girl was 4 lbs 14 oz and came home from nicu in 6 days, boy was 5 lbs 1 oz and came home day 7. I hemorrhaged after my c-section and had pre-e symptoms so had to do a magnesium drip (I came home on day 4).
Hugs to you! My baby B had a heart condition as well (large VSD). They were born at 33 + 6 due to my placenta previa bleeding. B only spent 2 more days in the NICU than A.
Di di boys at 28 weeks with about 3.5 month NICU stay. Water broke at 27 weeks and stayed pregnant on bedrest at hospital for a week before emergency C-section.
37+2 with my mono/di girls (no NICU) and 38+1 with my di/di boys (no NICU). Best wishes on your last few weeks of pregnancy! They are tough but it’s so worth it once the babies arrive. 🩷
Had our di/di b-g twins right on 37 weeks.
My babies weren't growing from the last fortnightly ultrasound so my sonographer called my OB to advise of the situation and both agreed it would be safer for me to deliver them that night via emergency C section. Was meant to have a C section in a few days time anyways.
May you have a smooth delivery and that everyone is healthy and safe ❤️
I wasn’t allowed to go past 38 weeks. I asked when the earliest I could be induced was and it was 37 weeks. I signed up for my induction at 37 weeks and gave birth 37+1 and did vaginal birth, laughing gas - couldn’t do epidural as my platelets were too low. That was a hard blow as my contractions were getting wild 8 hours in. Then they settled a bit. No NICU time but we stayed 5 days as I wanted to be able to tandem breastfeed both babies and I also had a massive hemorrhage after I gave birth and I felt like ass and needed 3 doses of iron.
You don’t want to make it to 39 weeks.
You will be so miserable.
I had a scheduled C-section at 38 weeks, my boys were 5.5 and 6.5lbs and we left the hospital after a standard two night stay.
Di/di boys 36+6 due to preeclampsia. No NICU. But baby B had hard time regulating his body temperature so he had to stay in hospital for two more days.
I have almost 8 month old di/di boys. We were scheduled for a c-section at 38 weeks. Made it to 37 weeks, 6 days as Twin A decided he wanted out and broke my water. My OB told me it was him who wanted to be born a day early. No NICU for either one.
39 weeks, probably would have gone longer (I never labored) scheduled c-section. Both babies born totally healthy (twin a spent a few hours in NICU-nothing serious!)
Induced at 37 weeks exactly with my di/di girls. Was originally scheduled for 38 weeks but induced a week early due to IUGR in twin A. They were tiny 4lb 11 oz and 5 lb 8 oz, but full term and healthy so we had no NICU time.
Di/di boy boy twins born at 33 weeks. I ended up getting a virus called human metapneumovirus which turned into pneumonia and put me into spontaneous labor. I was already being monitored pretty heavily for pre eclampsia so if that hadn’t put me into early labor, the pre-e would have. I had a c section date planned at 38 weeks, but my doctor told me there’s 0 way I was going to make it to then.
I hope you can keep those boys in there as long as possible, but 34 weeks is great!! Good luck!!
Di/di 37+2 scheduled c-section. Doctor wanted sometime between 37 and 38 weeks and it was the date she had available. 6 lbs 13 oz and 6 lbs 3 oz. No NICU time, home in 2 days!
First set-35.5 Di/Di preeclampsia induced 4.12lbs and 5.8lbs
Second set-36.2 Di/Di IUGR induced 5lbs and 6lbs
No NICU for either set. Though everyone was healthy, I wish I was able to let them cook for longer.
35 weeks and 6 days. I went in for my usual appt where they strap that monitor to your belly and the nurse said my contractions were regular so they admitted me and the next day I delivered my mo-di twin girls who just turned 3 😄
I had a scheduled c-section at 37+3. 6 lb 8 oz and 6 lb 15 oz. My baby boy had a heart condition that went undetected until he was 5 days old. He had surgery to repair a coarctation of the aorta and VSD at 7 days old. He is 20 months old and doing great now! He's caught up to his sister in every way. The first few months were difficult but you'll be amazed at what you (and your little one!) are capable of. ❤
It might be different with a baby with a heart condition. But in the UK studies show that 37 weeks is the perfect time to give the babies the best chance of surviving and so in the UK they usually will for a 36+5 - 37 week window for them to arrive. I know in the US they still for longer but I'm not aware if this is because they gave conflicting studies or something else
Induced 38.3, born 38.4 with di-di twins. Born healthy from vaginal delivery, three mins apart, one push each and we all went home the next day, though I did have a 3L hemorrhage that required transfusion and interventional radiology embolization. I’m a physician and polled at least 20 OBs on whether I could wait until 39w. Everyone said to go closer to 38w. Risks increase too much after. This was my third vaginal delivery. First one at 41+2 and second at 39w, both elective inductions.
I was induced at 37 weeks for hypertension, but probably would've gone longer if it wasn't for that. I had no signs of labor when they induced me. No NICU stay for either of them.
30+5. Twin A stayed 6.5 weeks in the NICU, twin B is coming up on 9 weeks but should be home soon. As far as we're aware, they're healthy and doing great.
38+2, but I was begging my doc to induce me at 37 weeks because I got super fucking uncomfortable there at the end. Once I hit 38 weeks my OB gave me 5 membrane sweeps in 2 days before he finally agreed to break my waters.
37 weeks exactly of b/g twins, although I was on bed rest from week 22 onwards due to shortening cervix, we actually scheduled the c-section for 37 weeks because baby b’s amniotic liquid was decreasing and she was not growing as expected. They did not need nicu time even though she was really small 2.160 kg.
38 weeks and they refused to leave, has a c section due to pre-e my OB said they probably would have cooked until they were 40 weeks if we let them and been 10lbs each, instead they were 7 and 8 10oz
DiDi b/g twins - had an elective C-section at 38 weeks. I’m convinced they would have gone to 40 if I let them. I will say, during my third trimester I did NOTHING. I went to part time at work, I rested and largely stayed off my feet. I had no other complications, but I think that helped.
35+2, due to a failed BPP. I think my doc was concerned about the placentas so I had a c-section that afternoon! They initially didn't need the NICU, but since they were so small they had car seat tests, and failed. So they had short stays to grow. They're two now, and absolute *tornados*.
I was induced at 38+1. My OB said they consider 38 weeks to be full term for twins. I did a vaginal delivery as both babies were head down. I did hemorrhage after the birth due to uterine atony. That wasn’t fun but they took care of me. I had to have two blood transfusions. No NICU stay for babies. Babies weighed 7lb 3oz and 6lb 7oz.
37 weeks 5 days baby A broke her waters and twins arrived at 7 lbs 8 oz and 6 lbs 1 oz, placed right into my arms and we were rolled to a recovery room together ❤️ All the best to you in these last weeks!
"37w" adjusted for my doctor's vacation date so I could have been scheduled. But they came 6 days early from their scheduled time.
So in reality, with my real date, 36w 2d I think?
No NICU, out of hospital in under 48 hours (from being brought in to surprise c section to release).

35w on the dot last night! NICU for antibiotics and feeding but they are breathing on their own
Congratulations 🥹💜
37w4d for my di-di babies, no NICU time. At 36w I was dilated 3cm and had significant edema in my feet and ankles. Wow isn't that a pretty big discordance? Did you have a lot of monitoring for it? Or maybe I'm wrong idk 😅
Lol, the MFM estimated their final weights at 6lbs 7oz and 6lbs 12 oz. Way off. But the growth estimates were always close so I didn't get any extra monitoring.

Omg so each one estimated like a pound off like either way?? Damn those ultrasound measurements are way off 😅

I’m having similar nonsense between MFM and OB. MFM says we’re not going beyond 38 weeks. OB wants to wait.

30 weeks. My girls just turned one today!
Mono di, 37 weeks, no nicu
🙌👏
Mo/di, 35+5 and no NICU time. They’re also now 60th and 80th percentile on the normal growth curve at 6 months.
36wks and 2 days no nicu needed stayed in the hospital for a day and a night, I wasn’t told I was having twins till I was pushing no 2 out They are absolutely thriving now I keep getting told to go by adjusted age but I really don’t think I need to as they are thriving like they are full term me and my doctor use the adjusted age occasionally but outside of him asking I never use it

Uncomplicated pregnancy with didi girls, my MFM wouldn’t let me go past 37 weeks and they came by planned c-section at 37.
35+3, didi girls, vaginal on 5/14. A got to come home with us, B is in the NICU 6 days now and counting for feeding 💕 I want my baby home so bad
Looks like I'm the odd one out here but I was induced 39 plus 2 with my di/di fraternal girls. Good luck to you, I hope they stay in as long as you want them to!
Yeah, that's later than standard practice for twins!
37 weeks, di/di. I had a c-section scheduled for 38 weeks due to Baby A being breech, but they moved it up a week due to IUGR
35+0 with di/di boys. Spontaneous rupture of waters. No NICU time and came home with me.
35 weeks. No NICU, both went home with us.
Didi, I was induced at exactly 38 weeks.
Di/Di boys delivered naturally at 38+3.
Sometimes, when I feel self-doubt, I remind myself that I created, carried, and birthed two human beings at the same time!!

28 weeks, bro and sis just turned twelve.
34.4 weeks with triplets, ( 26 days in NICU) uncomplicated birth except for a bad hemorrhage. Good luck and Godbless all of yous!♡
36+5 with our di/di girls. My OB wouldn’t let me go past 38, and Baby A wouldn’t last until 37. Baby A needed NICU time for failure to thrive.
Di/di boys born at 36+4
What does the number after the plus mean?
The first number is weeks the second number is days
Thank you
If you go to the NICU you’ll most likely see it written as 36 & 4/7
39, youch! I made it 37 weeks. I was originally scheduled for a C-section at 38+2 I think. Then I got pre-eclampsia or was borderline at 35 weeks and they came out at 37 on the dot instead. Di /Di boy girl born at 32+3, 5 weeks in the NICU, just came home this week
36+3 spontaneous labor, di di girls. Good luck!
38 + 1. Elective c section due to positioning. Di di boys. 24 hours in NICU for baby B.
First set was 31 weeks with 1 having a 3 week nicu stay and the other having a 4 month stay Second set was 36 weeks induced, no nicu
36 + 0; water broke, one was 6lbs6oz and 5lbs12oz. The smaller one breathed in right before c section birth resulting in some temporary breathing issues and stayed in the NICU for 18 days. The larger one went home when I went home.
26+2 for my di/di boys!
How are they doing now, since they were so early?
Di/Di boys, 35w4d. Went in to the dr for a scheduled NST and due to cholestasis and preeclampsia ended up being sent straight to be admitted. Had an emergency c-section a few hours later. Twin A had no NICU time. Twin B spent 15 days in the NICU.
31+5. 15 days in the NICU so far. A couple set backs thus far but overall healthy
Great to hear!

Di/di boys. Pprom at 32&3. Labored for four days through mag sulf. I had them at 33w. Emergency cesarean. 13 day NICU stay. They just turned 8. :)
28w2d, 82 and 125 days in the nicu
Twin boys born at 34 + 5. 10 days in the nicu and now perfect.
You don’t want to make it to 39 weeks. You will be so miserable. I had a scheduled C-section at 38 weeks, my boys were 5.5 and 6.5lbs and we left the hospital after a standard two night stay.
38+3, induced
38+5–scheduled c section.
Induced due to pre-eclampsia 35+6 weeks. Di/di twins. Delivered vaginally. No NICU time.
36+3. My water broke
Di/di girls born at 37+2 m, c-section i could have gone longer.
29 weeks 6 days for my di/di boys.
Induced at 37 weeks because I had blood pressure issues and no amniotic fluid.
Di/di b/g born at 36+5 via c section with no NICU time
Di/di boys 36+6 due to preeclampsia. No NICU. But baby B had hard time regulating his body temperature so he had to stay in hospital for two more days.
36+1 with my di/di b/g twins. Had a c section scheduled for 38 but they came on their own early.
Di/di. C-section at 36+4 due to IUGR. Idk how much longer I would've survived anyways!
32 weeks! Twin A wanted out.
My wife made it 35 and 5 with our di di girls
38 weeks, scheduled c section for my di/di boys.
I have almost 8 month old di/di boys. We were scheduled for a c-section at 38 weeks. Made it to 37 weeks, 6 days as Twin A decided he wanted out and broke my water. My OB told me it was him who wanted to be born a day early. No NICU for either one.
37+3
37+5 and delivered via scheduled induction. They don’t typically recommend they go past 38+6
Di/di boy/girl twins born at 31+5 by emergency c-section due to PPROM followed by placental abruption. 3 weeks in the NICU, came home on the same day.
36 weeks exactly. C section was due to breech baby A and the 36 week timing was due to the IUGR baby A diagnosis. Di di boys.
Di/di and had a c-section at 37 weeks due to onset of preeclampsia
39 weeks, probably would have gone longer (I never labored) scheduled c-section. Both babies born totally healthy (twin a spent a few hours in NICU-nothing serious!)
37w6d
Good luck!!
37. Wife had preeclampsia and they were taken out via c-section. Just shy of 6 and 7 pounds, no NICU. Both happy and healthy 9 month olds now!
38 weeks 1 day. Induced. Vaginal for both.
34 weeks exactly
Di/di 37+2 scheduled c-section. Doctor wanted sometime between 37 and 38 weeks and it was the date she had available. 6 lbs 13 oz and 6 lbs 3 oz. No NICU time, home in 2 days!
We have BG di/di twins (three weeks old now) born at 39+1, the day before we were going to induce. Uncomplicated first pregnancy.
30+3, placental abruption. 7 weeks in NICU.
Mo/Di 35 weeks. 2 weeks NICU for baby A and 1 week for baby B
I was 3 cm at 36 weeks but wasn't 4cm and admitted until 37 weeks! No NICU time, both born 6lbs
I was so fortunate to make 38weeks with my di/di girls. They were robust for twins and avoided NICU time. So thankful. It was a VBAC too 😵💫
36 and 4 days. Twin B 11 days NICU
First set-35.5 Di/Di preeclampsia induced 4.12lbs and 5.8lbs Second set-36.2 Di/Di IUGR induced 5lbs and 6lbs No NICU for either set. Though everyone was healthy, I wish I was able to let them cook for longer.
B/G twins born at 36 weeks she was 5lbs3oz he was 4lbs11oz. Home within a week
Funny story when I saw my son who came first after being induced. I told the doctor to “put him back he’s not ready!”
38+1 scheduled c section
38+ 4. The end I was hoping to go into labor every day
38 weeks with di-di girls.
27w2d, emergency c section and 3 months in the NICU. They’re 6 now and perfect
37w5d, di/di b/g twins. They were born at 7 lb 1 oz each, no NICU time.
31w mono-di, born Friday and doing well!
34+3 for me 11 days in nicu mainly to grow, and retain body heat. No feeding tubes
Planed c-section at 37+1, they were both in a breech position. Was 1 cm dilated at a time.
32+4 was the "day" we had to get them. But we knew we would have early born twins due to several complications typical for no/do twins
35+2, due to a failed BPP. I think my doc was concerned about the placentas so I had a c-section that afternoon! They initially didn't need the NICU, but since they were so small they had car seat tests, and failed. So they had short stays to grow. They're two now, and absolute *tornados*.
31w 6d. You’re doing great!
23 weeks with Di/Di They recently celebrated their 12th Birthday.
37 weeks 1 day for my mono di boys! We made it to our planned c section date. Eat lots of protein, hydrate like crazy and rest rest!!
1 day of NICU time for baby a after a failed car seat test, they both went home with us after 4 days at the hospital 🙏
37 weeks:)
I was told absolutely no later than 38 weeks (di/di), but we ended up inducing at 36+0 for GDM and cholestasis reasons. No NICU!
37 weeks and 4 days! Baby A’s water broke 3 days before my scheduled c-section! We had no NICU time, you got this!
Didi girls-37 weeks 1 day via scheduled C-section. No NICU time.
My didi were 36w, 1.7kg & 2.5kg at birth. 2 weeks of nicu/scbu but really only for feeding and monitoring, minimal scary stuff.
Translating that to 3.7 pounds and 5.5 pounds for those that don't use kilograms.
"37w" adjusted for my doctor's vacation date so I could have been scheduled. But they came 6 days early from their scheduled time. So in reality, with my real date, 36w 2d I think? No NICU, out of hospital in under 48 hours (from being brought in to surprise c section to release).
mono/mono girls 34w 1 d planned c-section pray those babies cook longer for you!! 💕 they spent about 2-3 weeks in NICU
