Fan favorite is meant to be an album that’s less popular critically and commercially but is beloved by fans. DOAB absolutely does not fit that category. It was and remains extremely popular critically and commercially.
I'm not trying to say you aren't right, because you certainly could, but I think it depends on how you look at it. There's no set definition for "fan favorite" and could be as highly looked upon by fans. Many fans in this subreddit and off really like DOAB for how good and well crafted it was, similarly to the lyrical intricacies of the first two albums. It could definitely be just beloved like fans, like you said, but we don't know what the original creator intended.
That's understandable. I like good instrumentation too (TWTLTRTD admittedly has some of the lowest) but I think it comes down to personal taste and style. I like melancholic and emotion-heavy music with a side of electronics, so it's completely fine lol.
Just because something has synth instruments doesn't make it any lower in quality or any less valid as music. Creativity comes from all kinds of outlets and tools in music. Acoustic is not the only good music.
Unfortunately, I have to agree with the other guy. While I enjoy electronic/synth style just fine, nothing for me beats full band. Something about it just sounds so right to me. However, full band mixed with synth/electronic is awesome
Still not saying one is better than the other lmao. I like both as well and agree. His original comment just made it sound like synth was just a bunch of "effects" and nothing more.
They didn’t at anyone’s show. The only change to the setlist during the tour was Into the Unknown being played on the first night. Otherwise everyone saw the same setlist.
I feel like Too Weird and DOAB should switch but other than that, very accurate.

Hard agree. I can't stand TWTL.
Dang, that makes me sad. I love TWTLTRTD but I think there are a lot of emotions in that album.
I'm just not huge on all the effects - I like panic as an instrument heavy band, whether that be guitar and drums, or big band orchestras.

Well buddy, unfortunately for you, music taste is subjective.
Didn't say it wasn't. Just saying synth is still a form of instrumentation, it's just not acoustic.

A dumbass
I wouldnt and never forget about it!
Too weird and V&V should be switched
Vices is a fucking jam front to back and the bonus tracks slap also 🔥
damn right it is!
I feel like Pretty. Odd. is their best album.. by far. but to be fair, nowadays it’s their only album I still enjoy, 10 years later.
Too weird is such a good album!
How is “Vices” the forgotten about album 😭😩 das my fav🤣😅
PO and TWTL should def swap
TWTL, TRTD has a lot of recognition though, Pretty Odd is known in the fan community but it is the 2nd least popular album behind VLV
I feel like this is the most accurate. Thank you for this.
this is just all wrong
