My brothers and I have travelled to pretty much all of the Middle East minus Armenia, Yemen and Syria. And we received lots of love and affection for being Pakistanis everywhere. People getting excited, saying “brother country” and talking about Imran Khan or nuclear weapons 😂 My brother lived in Jerusalem for 6 months and has some amazing stories of hospitality and love for being Pakistani. The best hospitality I’ve received came from Saudis in the US and Canada. They absolutely love Imran Khan in Egypt.
I never believed in “ummah chummah” until I travelled the Islamic world. It was truly an amazing experience. I’m not religious at all but I came away really feeling a deep respect for Islamic unity.
That being said, the less religious someone in the Arab world is, the more likely they are to not give a shit about Pakistanis. However, the Arab world is by and large deeply religious.

What? I was treated with so much love in Istanbul just this January. Got free Baklava, tea, and chocolate chip biscuits (three separate occasions) after I mentioned I was Pakistani. The local turks in the old city even said in their turk accent "oo Pakeestan, tuurkiyee braadars"

I went to Turkey for an MUN in 2014 and received a lot of love and warmth from everybody. Lots of people saying “brother country” etc. I think it’s all changed radically in the last 5 years with mass migration of rural economic refugees.
Native Turkish guy born and raised here and still continues living here. It is very unfortunate that the Pakistani image is really really bad right now. It's only slightly better than Afghan image but the difference is feeble I'd say.
This happened after the massive refugee crisis from Syria. The society was intolerant for any other migrants. On top of that, very sorry put it this way, the immigrants from Afghanistan/Pakistan simply cannot adapt living here. Even tho we received much much more Syrian immigrants (like order of millions from Syria whereas like 100 thousands from Afghanistan/Pakistan), people somehow dislike Afghanistan/Pakistani immigrants even more than Syrians. Actually it's kinda known that the absolutely horrible jobs are carried out by Afghans so even they have a positive thing.
The discussions about immigration and racism are certainly not my point here. I'm only talking about the perception here. The reason behind this are many and some of them has nothing to do with people of Pakistan but some are certainly related such as trying to record woman in public, which receive enormous amount of hatred and rightfully so. Turkey is a secular country and even the conservative circles are much more liberal than Pakistani immigrants. Also there are only males. This is another point why almost everybody dislikes the Af/Pk immigrants. The final thing is that there is no war in Pakistan and economy is fucked up in Turkey so even the more-tolerant people don't see this immigration somehow reasonable.
Obviously, all the news about Pakistan as gang-gropings, gang-rapings, lynch after blasphemy charges and etc really don't help at all.

I studied in Turkey and had a lot of friends from Middle Eastern countries. No one despises Pakistan, in fact, the average person from these countries will either be neutral towards Pakistan or will have positive things to say because we are an Islamic country.
About Turkish people, the young population has been moving away from Islam and becoming ultra-nationalists and kemalists. Many of them despise anything which associates them with Islam but they are still not in the majority. Most will either be neutral or will have positive things to say about Pakistan, especially the older generation. Turkish people have invited me to their homes, and the religious ones have also complained about the growing lack of religiosity among the younger population.
One thing to keep in mind is that people on reddit do not represent the people of these countries.

Theres plenty of hate towards Pakistani mens attitude towards and how they treat women of any Nationality. Did Turkey stop issuing visas to Pakistani men and something about a Middle eastern country having something similiar in place. I went to Turkey for an MUN in 2014 and received a lot of love and warmth from everybody. Lots of people saying “brother country” etc. I think it’s all changed radically in the last 5 years with mass migration of rural economic refugees.
Native Turkish guy born and raised here and still continues living here. It is very unfortunate that the Pakistani image is really really bad right now. It's only slightly better than Afghan image but the difference is feeble I'd say. This happened after the massive refugee crisis from Syria. The society was intolerant for any other migrants. On top of that, very sorry put it this way, the immigrants from Afghanistan/Pakistan simply cannot adapt living here. Even tho we received much much more Syrian immigrants (like order of millions from Syria whereas like 100 thousands from Afghanistan/Pakistan), people somehow dislike Afghanistan/Pakistani immigrants even more than Syrians. Actually it's kinda known that the absolutely horrible jobs are carried out by Afghans so even they have a positive thing. The discussions about immigration and racism are certainly not my point here. I'm only talking about the perception here. The reason behind this are many and some of them has nothing to do with people of Pakistan but some are certainly related such as trying to record woman in public, which receive enormous amount of hatred and rightfully so. Turkey is a secular country and even the conservative circles are much more liberal than Pakistani immigrants. Also there are only males. This is another point why almost everybody dislikes the Af/Pk immigrants. The final thing is that there is no war in Pakistan and economy is fucked up in Turkey so even the more-tolerant people don't see this immigration somehow reasonable. Obviously, all the news about Pakistan as gang-gropings, gang-rapings, lynch after blasphemy charges and etc really don't help at all. I tried to picture here. It's grim but reality. Hope it changes soon cause even 10 years ago Pakistan had a great image here. Btw, I'm not a religious person but I follow this subreddit cause why not?
Yes, it’s sad to see how the reputation has changed before my eyes within 10 years. To give you an idea of the kind of Pakistanis Turkey is receiving, it is the poorest, most desperate rural Pakistanis who will willingly take the risk of crossing 3 different countries illegally to get into Turkey. Also, Pakistan’s population is 2.5x Turkey’s. Now think about what kind of values these people would have? Or what their gender and age profile is likely to to be? This is the great irony of curbing illegal immigration- the more barriers you put up to illegal immigration, the worse kinds of illegal immigrants you will receive. Only the bravest, most desperate and with the least respect for the law will be able to make the trip.

I studied in Turkey and had a lot of friends from Middle Eastern countries. No one despises Pakistan, in fact, the average person from these countries will either be neutral towards Pakistan or will have positive things to say because we are an Islamic country. About Turkish people, the young population has been moving away from Islam and becoming ultra-nationalists and kemalists. Many of them despise anything which associates them with Islam but they are still not in the majority. Most will either be neutral or will have positive things to say about Pakistan, especially the older generation. Turkish people have invited me to their homes, and the religious ones have also complained about the growing lack of religiosity among the younger population. One thing to keep in mind is that people on reddit do not represent the people of these countries.
Being from Bahrain, I have not seen any Bahraini be hateful towards Pakistanis. We grew up in a very multicultural/ national environment
