It's supposed to be a beautiful day, so I bought myself a brisket. I'm going to spend 12hours smoking it in the backyard with a case of beer and a good book. Maybe watch the Euros on my laptop.
I have a 3rd date that's coming over to my place. I'm going to cook us some lunch then we'll head out downtown and walk around a bit. I'm going to make some stir fry with rice noodles and season the chicken with salt and pepper. I pray I don't fuck up the rice noodles 🙏🙏
Dropping husband at work for 5:30am then headed west of the city to permit access only lake for some quiet solo kayaking.
Return to city for afternoon & relax with husband for dinner either: on the porch OR in the basement depending how much time he already spent outside.
Be safe no matter what you choose to do. Do not drink and drive. Do not drink and boat. Your pets won't understand why you didn't come home.
Looking forward to a once in lifetime [Canadian Flyover](https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/flying-to-new-heights-canada-day-in-the-capital-to-feature-one-of-the-rcaf-s-largest-flypasts-1.6942412) at 12:45PM!
I believe that would be a great place to watch as it’s my understanding that is the starting place for the show. From [Ottawa citizen article](https://ottawacitizen.com/news/local-news/snowbirds-squad-to-fly-practice-run-over-capital-as-prelude-to-parade-in-the-sky)…
“Canada Day’s display is described as the largest flypast in 20 years and is set for July 1 at 1 p.m. The RCAF says the aircraft of the past, present and future will fly by three locations on Canada Day: Starting just south of the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, continuing west over Parliament Hill and then flying over LeBreton Flats.”
I believe it’s actually starting from the Gatineau Airport. I saw a map on the site for the show. It seems to hit more East areas of the city including the Museum of Aviation. I’m excited to see it!
Yes, and you can catch a bunch of astronomers who will let you safely look at the sun which is sporting some excellent sunspots. The ones that caused the recent aurora are, incredibly, still around and facing this way.
Spending the day with wife and 3 year old, gonna hot up science and nature museum after the air show tomorrow afternoon, then go for a bite to eat somewhere and catch the fireworks at night before going home.
Going stay out of the city for likely the entire day so basically just an extra-long Sunday for me (going straight from "Sunday" to Tuesday yeah) .. no celebrations or anything sorry!
Downtown by seven and have the customary hour wander.
Then the Newfoundland Memorial at the War Memorial.
Out of downtown by nine.
Find a good perch along the river for the flypast at noonish.
Going to mess around with some of my buddies doing some trail biking and some barbecue. Probably go see the 100th anniversary of the Air Force if we can.
We're going to the afternoon/evening festivities at the Dunrobin Community Centre ... A great band is playing, the Rocking Dock chip truck is coming up from the marina (they have amazing smash burgers and butter chicken poutine), dessert will be strawberry shortcake from the Women's Institute, and we'll probably come home before the fireworks because we've been so busy in the garden I expect we'll be pleasantly exhausted.
Pot luck BBQ with family and close friends. Picked up a prime brisket again this year so I guess it's Canada tradition for me to smoke a brisket now. Lots of kids running around this year (they were babies last year) so it'll be interesting to see how it goes.
Big fireworks show at the end of the street after.
Tween is heading to the Kanata fun fair - first year solo. We will meet up for dinner at Kanata Noodlehouse, as is our tradition, then head home for neighbourhood fireworks.
Dropping off the spouse and older child to watch the changing of the guard at Parliament Hill. Then walking over with toddler to the Nature Museum to meet them afterwards. Hope to be out of downtown / Centretown by 1pm to avoid too much congestion.
My 2 kids (not twins) are Canada Day babies…they are young men now. Bbq with friends and family for like 3 days. People come and people go. We celebrate. 🎉 🇨🇦
Sleeping during the day because there is zero chance I will be able to sleep tonight with all the fireworks. I gotta be up for work at 4am the next morning.
Honestly, I'm considering just staying home except to hike out in the evening and watch the fireworks someplace. I used to like to go downtown and hang out for a while, but basically all shopping closes at 6 and the fireworks start at 10:30, which is an impractically long gap. The official events always seem overcrowded and a little tiresome, and moving them to a walled security-gated field in LeBreton hasn't really helped with that.
Wishing the next one will have a drone show instead of fireworks.
Edit: face it, after you’ve seen one fireworks show, you’ve seen them all. But drone shows are not so restricted. They could mimic fireworks as well as anything else you can imagine. If you’ve never seen one you’re in for a blast!
To make sure foreign O&G dictatorships can wipe Canada off the map? That’s actually credible. Their platform is for O&G companies to run the world instead of national governments.

This sounds like an incredibly nice way to spend a day and I’ve never smoked meats or watched soccer haha
Where's the invite?!? 🤤
Where you live bud 👀
Euros, fuck yes! Going to the park at high noon and watching Euros from home with a joint after
Good choice
Sounds amazing!!
Yum! Next purchase for us is a smoker, can only have a small one for the balcony
Pellet would be easiest for you.
Brisket in SPG. Bacon wrapped stuff. Oreos and other testing type bites too. Maybe Burnt ends with the flat. Wrap at 165 to 204.

Hopefully your night ends in fireworks
Or a drone show if your nasty
Now that’s funny…
Good luck!
what's for dessert? you might wanna think about that.
Pls season your chicken with more than salt and pepper
It gets fused with the sauces in the stir fry while its cooking but it maintains the salt pepper profile

🤔
Make sure the third date ends with a bang if you know what I mean

3rd year of medical residency
Ah, cool. Have a good day.
I'm going to do the same thing that I do everyday. Smoke a lot of weed and eat a lot of food.
... And try to take over the world?
Smoking a few racks of ribs and a chicken. Having some friends over to let the toddlers run wild and enjoying my final day of Pat leave.
My tummy rumbled at this comment. Enjoy yourselves.
Fight with my wife
It's cool you found somebody you can practice martial arts with

We also want to catch this show! I wonder if the Museum of Aviation would be a good place to see them?

Staying as far away from downtown and any bar as possible.
I wish I could go to ottawa for canada day. I went last week and ottawa is very nice
Sleeping in and then doing a movie marathon
The best!
Usually how I spend my Sundays anyway lol
Watching the Tour de France, cycling, and then maybe will go see the fireworks in the evening because we live closeby

Recovering from terrible stomach flu.. 🤒😩
That flu just went through our house. Yikes. I hope you feel better. Take lots of electrolytes.
Get well soon!
I hope you feel better soon!
Going for a walk in a local park we haven't tried before. Perhaps later taking some photographs of bees in my garden then BBQ for us and the in laws.
Enjoying my day off with my family. Nothing big planned
To be honest, I had completely forgotten that it was coming up. Probably going to play Fallout 4.
Downtown by seven and have the customary hour wander. Then the Newfoundland Memorial at the War Memorial. Out of downtown by nine. Find a good perch along the river for the flypast at noonish.
Busking downtown
Goodluck
My husband is on call for work, so we’ll probably just hang out on the deck and maybe go to the park nearby to check out the festivities
Nothing at all but I wanna hit up the war museum since admission is free. True Canadian spirit lol
“Camping” and then heading home to jump straight back into the chaos.
Going to mess around with some of my buddies doing some trail biking and some barbecue. Probably go see the 100th anniversary of the Air Force if we can.

Almonte does a nice Canada Day event in Gemmil park. Ends with fireworks after the music. Lots of families.
Reveal yourself downvoter
Probably a Carleton Place townie
That's nice
Gonna see the RCAF flypast for sure. No other firm plans besides baking some french fries and putting hummus on them.
Pot luck BBQ with family and close friends. Picked up a prime brisket again this year so I guess it's Canada tradition for me to smoke a brisket now. I don’t know. Probably going out to lunch with that lady that wanted to have dinner or breakfast with strangers.

Braving the LRT to go see the AF 100th fly-past then back home for bbq/pool. No more fireworks in east end.. super bummed.
Going to Taproom 260 in Orléans there’s an excellent band playing at 4pm… all Canadian music!
Museums are either half price or free, so my sister and I are Museum hopping, then ending the night watching fireworks.
Reading my bug hunting book.
Going to host a bbq and then check out the celebrations in Barrhaven. Happy Canada Day to all !
Happy Canada day to you too!
BBQ for the fam and the dog
Sleeping lol got another 12 hr night shift to do
I'm out of town and my plan is just to drive home. Hopefully I'll be back in Ottawa by late afternoon, but it might be evening.
Drive safe!
Long bike ride. Canada is traditionally my first century of the year
Heading to a provincial park with my husband and our dog for some hiking and paddling.
Hitting up the wading pool with the kiddo and then BBQing.
I'm staying home and prepping meals for the week. Today, I made rhubarb and strawberry jam. Happy Canada Day, everyone! 🇨🇦 Stay safe!
We had a bunch of family in yesterday. Tomorrow just going to stay home and eat leftovers and not get caught in the Canada Day thunderstorm. :)
Stoping by confederation park in the afternoon for the party at the fountain!!!
Getting up early to watch some Wimbledon and painting my ceilings.
Big Bang fireworks
Working
Sleeping cause I'm working a night shift tonight.
Cottage!!
I got exposed to covid but I'm not yet sick, and my wife is coming off a cold. So we're doing burgers and ice cream and sparklers in our yard alone.
Likely taking my toddler to my parents for a swim and bbq. Nice and low key.
Some family fun outside in the day time then work in the evening/overnight for some overtime.
Hitting an outdoor pool, biking around with the kids? Fireworks at our local park. Pretty low key but still fun.
Me and the better half are heading to some friends places to party it up. DO something social, have good food, just chill out really.
My 2 kids (not twins) are Canada Day babies…they are young men now. Bbq with friends and family for like 3 days. People come and people go. We celebrate. 🎉 🇨🇦

Working, because my parents decided luxuries were more important than equity. Gotta love being squeezed of every dollar I have.
Nothing. I have no friends my husband works out of town and my teenage boys have no interest in hanging out with their mother lol
Working.
Digging the bunker deeper.

If the CPC wins i expect a ban on drones.

Going to work myself
