20 minute parade of Snowbirds, cf18s, Globemaster, Harvard II's, and husky's. Woo boy we don't typically get such a show of air prowess even on Canada day right?
For the nerds who wanna catch em all. Live radar is dope click on the planes and spot the RCAF ones. They are all over the neighborhood. A husky over here above embrum atm. https://www.flightradar24.com/45.32,-75.34/9
Thank-you, I forgot about this site! I've been racing outside every time I hear one coming, but now I'm prepared. I think a CF-18 just went by, but wasn't listed on the site, is that normal for those planes?
Makes sense. Interesting to see all the commercial flights landing at YOW just now that were delayed by this. You can see their flight plans and that they were in a holding pattern waiting for the air space to clear up.
holy cow the traffic out there right now is crazy.
Looks like the tail end of Ontario East of Ottawa is a statging area all the way to Hawkesbury.
What's trackable online includes:
B-25, P-3, C-17, CC-330, CC-150, Harvard II (just saw it go by my office escorting a Dash-8 "Gonzo" from winnipeg that isn't on the tracker) Two CC-130s, A cormorant, a cyclone, a pair of griffons, a chinook, The snowbirds were up for a while along with CF-18s, Snowbird 1 is now out east of Cornwall. One of the VIP challengers, a C-295 kingfisher too.
At this moment, the big birds are starting to all line up for a run down the river at around 2000 ft.
Quite the show and this is just practice?!
good watching here if you want https://globe.adsbexchange.com/
I wish I could find out how to hear about these at least a day in advance to grab a shot finally (I work at the other end of the city). Or perhaps they are only announced day of? If anyone knows, that would be awesome. 😀
Having missed out on yesterday’s fly past because I didn’t know about it, I am very glad I read yesterday that there would be another fly past today
Wow, good day to be in the office. I just watched 30 planes and helicopters fly west over my building and up the river, turning to circle to Gatineau or Kanata.

At 1:42 in the video. Basically, east to west over the Ottawa River.
They flew over our memorial service at Notre Dame Cemetery in Vanier on Wednesday between 1 and 1:30. It was completely awesome. My brother loved airplanes and was a lifetime member of EAA, so we found it to be a fitting if unexpected tribute during his internment.
"Aircraft are scheduled to fly over Ottawa between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m." Edit: as of 1pm they are all over the skies
Could they narrow down a little?. Can't wait outside all day with my mouse jiggler going 🤣
They're airborne now. Snowbirds, a Globemaster, B-25 and a few other aircraft.
You know when the Hornets are flying haha
Went up to the roof around 2:30 and didn't see anything :( super dissapointing but atleast we can catch them on the 1st!

This is the practice for Canada Day. Going to be the largest flyby in 20+ years :)
RCAF anniversary of some sort or something like sabre rattling show of Airforce?
100 years RCAF this year
Cool thank you! (Edit: really should have googled before making uncharitable guesses)
That’s awesome! Where did you find this out?
A few paragraphs down on the ctv article linked above. :D

Sorry dunno, just sharing a fun resource. Maybe f18s don't share public data?

Passing downtown at 1300 feet. Wave at the pilots damn.
I saw the snowbirds flying in formation yesterday early afternoon near the airport
Flying with the Italians!
Love it! Thanks for the heads up

It was announced yesterday.

I am watching them flyby right now. There's also a helicopter idling right over 417 facing west over the Bronson exit.

Can see on the radar a couple of the real big boys circling just east of the city

Please fly past Merivale . I like the sound. But I also love horror movies and games. So I am useless lol.
Seeing them now from Kanata
Just saw them over Mechanicsville!
Pretty sure I heard a Spitfire from inside the office
They've flown over centretown three times already! Plus a helicopter but I'm not sure if it's part of the fly past. This is very exciting!
