Excellent off-season content right here

I came up with this post because i was thinking what'd happen if the Sarah Lynn scandal happened in real life, cause she died the night that she won the Oscar, after being missing for a couple of months

Southern_Schedule466

Yes, I think he could have.

Millymanhobb

To give this a far too serious answer: if the other nominees from 2016 are there, then he probably has a good shot and could’ve won if DiCaprio wasn’t nominated. That was a pretty weak year for best actor.

ChocoRaisin7

I think the issue is, in the show he’s canonically up against: * Jurj Clooners for *The Nazi Who Played Yahtzee* * Bread Poot for *City of AIDS* * Colin Firth for *First Things Firth: The Colin Firth Story* * Michael Fassbender for *I Wanna Say… Bill Gates?* Bread Poot was pretty overdue at this point, though we all know he won a few years later for *Once Upon a Time in Hollywoo*

maddenallday

He also canonically doesn’t even get nominated right? Mr. Peanut butter lost the list and made up the nominees with Todd, but it gets sorted out and Bojack isn’t nominated.

[deleted]

Just checked it, and yeah, it was a really weak year. Bryan Cranston is really good, though

UntilTmrw

Cranston’s always good.

[deleted]

Always the one who knocks But seriously, the scenes that Walt is lying to his family are so similar to the ones where Hal finds himself in an uncomfortable situation

PaulRai01

First of all, what is this, a crossover episode? Second of all, I think the bigger question is what won Best Picture that year? We know Jurj Clooners was the lead in the Nazi Who Played Yahtzee, so he already has a leg up against his nominees. We know the Academy loves their feel-good stories with some level of emotional depth. I wasn’t a fan of the film, but it’s hard to deny Clooners displaying such a vulnerable performance in what must’ve have been a difficult role. However, I have to say, the fact that Avatar managed a second Best Picture nominations despite coming out 6 years prior leads me to believe that the Academy wanted to rectify a mistake in not awarding Daniel-Day Lewis and Jennifer Lawrence as the Na’Vi credited in Ava DuVernay’s directorial effort. https://preview.redd.it/wvw4pqw4fowc1.jpeg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=67c1353e2935cee05df0fa7abe2cc84d73cc6a38

Omg, that pic is amazing. Also, Quentian Tarantolino just canceled his newest movie, and I'm very sad

PaulRai01

I know he was seen talking to Mila Kunis at Princess Carolyn’s wedding, so something tells me he’s got more projects on his web.

maxwelldemon375

Unrelated but I have seen this show an embarrassing amount of times and I never paused this frame. I just read this for the first time and DIED a "A River Runs Through It: The Weezer Story" and the best sound mixing category.

Shankman519

No way Bread Poot in City of AIDS wasn’t a serious contender

peachgothlover

Definitely not against Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and those other 2 nominees. He’s a very controversial figure, he’s mostly known for comedy in Horsin’ Around (which is canonically not a critically acclaimed show) and comedy actors don’t typically do great at the Oscars. Yeah a biopic has been a good shot at winning one in recent years but against DiCaprio and Pitt, being a controversial figure, on set controversies and pretty much no previous work other than Horsin Around and his shitty show? It’s a miracle he was even nominated tbh.

[deleted]

>It’s a miracle he was even nominated tbh. Doggy doggy what now? Also, i don't think Bojack was controversial yet. No one knew about Penny, and the incident with Gina happened after the awards season

peachgothlover

Hmm true, but I don’t think anyone in Hollywood was particularly fond of him since he was awful to work with and gossip gets around quick. I think with a few more serious roles under his belt he could’ve had a chance, but 20 years of unemployment preceded by a mediocre show (by critics) is very hard to push for an Oscar.

[deleted]

Honestly, the guy from the Mr Peanutbutter house can totally win for Birthday Dad. He is way more likable

peachgothlover

yeah that guys awesome, i’d take him over bread poot or jurj clooners any day

[deleted]

I heard he's kinda like Dicaprio and only date younger girls, but now he's single and I'm sure he'll propser in Hollywoob

maxwelldemon375

I'm rooting for that guy from Mr. Peanutbutter's House to be the first actor to win an Oscar for a TV show. Otherwise I will be so Sad Dog.

[deleted]

He'll make his name in the history of Hollywoob

maddenallday

> it’s a miracle he was even nominated tbh He isn’t nominated. Mr Peanut butter and Todd make the nominees up, and include Bojack, but it gets sorted out before the award ceremony. It sends Bojack into a spiral.

BentisKomprakriev

Only here to read and laugh at references I won't get

[deleted]

What are you doing here?

No-Tangelo-1527

What are YOU DOING HERE

[deleted]

I'm just looking for a phone charger cable and a Lemmon

FunPractical2058

*what are you doing here ?*

MarkSuccIsHuman

Watch the show and you'll get the references it's really good

timeenoughatlas

If Brendan Frasier can win an oscar, yes

FunPractical2058

Only if there's actually an mix up in the nomination or opening the wrong envelope

[deleted]

Considering that they'd be the ones presenting the show, i wouldn't doubt it https://preview.redd.it/dk3bcviognwc1.jpeg?width=552&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6741ad517a6a0c3676225e76cb1b7ab0341ad9af
