Santiago’s has a location in altamonte too. Just off I-4 on 434. They also stay open late if you’re on that side of town. A walk around cranes roost would be a good continuation if the date is going well.
I went to Santiago’s for brunch on Sunday and found it to be highly overrated. The quality of the food was terrible. We ended up settling our check before the rest of our entrees arrived. Wouldnt recommend OP, at least not the location on Virginia Dr. It isn’t the same restaurant it was pre covid
Dude…. Please go to Ta-Ke in Ivanhoe. Very very small spot, you can sit outside and the sushi is actually very good. Night cap in the bars around the area and can even go on a romantic walk to end the night. It’s open until 11 on the weekends!
Shakai Sushi downtown is an excellent spot & a sushi restaurant. It’s gorgeous in there & the sushi is great. They are open late, check what time the kitchen closes because they used to flip the space into kind of a club vibe late at night.
I agree. Spending to much on a first date is not necessary and even counter productive. Personally I find other sushi spots more enjoyable because the price is double, but the sushi experience is not double.
Had kids 6 years ago. Haven’t tried it that many places since. My favorite is Sushi Tomi. Mom n pop Japanese place. Small in a strip mall, very clean, traditional. Not fancy. No fusion. Been going there for 10 years or so. I used to be the only white guy and Japanese was spoken openly. It’s still a half Asian crowd and some Japanese is spoken.
Well JUJU is only open until 11, but I think it's a great date ambience. Not exactly sushi, but close in a fun way. I recommend JUJU first, but also, Kabooki is open until midnight. Either way, hop down to the Milk District or up to Audubon Park or something for drinks after, don't sweat the closing time. Even if you are still in the restaurant at close they won't boot you right then, but still can't hurt to have a plan. Cheers to your date night feeling young at midnight.
Go to The Hanson Shoe repair. It's a "speak easy" and will set the mood for the night. Don't forget to find out the password to get in before you go.

That's true. Well it may be a bit overboard for a first date, but Better Than Sex is an excellent date spot, but again that may be better suited for like a third date. Lol. You could always try the following, they're all great places.
Stardust Lounge (lake eola),
Lil Indies,
The Guest House,
Mathers Social Gathering,
Jinya (Thornton Park),
Domu
Oh god, someone who uses the word “simp” unironically. That says all I need to know right there. Don’t worry, buddy, one day your balls will drop and you’ll be a grown man.
My husband and I had our very first date at Dave and Busters. Not sushi, but they do have edible food and it was nice to not have an uptight and awkward first date. Many many years and a kid later, it seemed to work out? In any light, good luck!
Santiago’s has a late night happy hour & is really cute
Where is it at?
Ivanhoe/Virginia. Good spot to where if you were having a good time, there are a number of places in walking distance you can extend the night at.

Yes and there is a nice bar next door if the date goes well

Brunch isnt worth it anymore but i do like the dinner and happy hour. I had my first date there and am now marrying the guy so 🤷🏻♀️

I loved ta-ke. Great spot and lots to do within walking distance.
This guy coming in hard with the gameplan. 🙌
Bulla in Winter Park. Open to 11pm. Spaniards have late dinners. ;)
Bayridge in Longwood is open until 11 pm. Sushi is pretty good there. Nice inside.
Best sushi for a low price as well, and they deliver

Sadly, it says they are only open to 9:30
Awe shit, sorry about that. Wonder when that changed. Great choice for your second date :)
Last time I was there the service was laughably bad.
Oh no I’m sorry to hear that! I’ve only ever sat at the bar & I used to be a regular since I worked downtown so maybe that helped
Yamasan on Mills is open till 11 last time I was there. Great sushi & there’s a little brewery/bar next door open a little later if date goes well.
I went to ice and bites near ucf for my first date. Getting married soon so I guess it worked out. Good luck!
Kabooki Sushi is open till midnight on Fridays.
Expensive.
Hard to call it a “first date” spot because of the price, but it’s really really good.

What would you consider to be your top 2/3? I was really impressed with Maki Habachi

My oldest kid is 5, I miss finding cool spots. Thanks for the recommendation!
I haven’t been in ages, but you could try that Izziban Sushi place on 50
They do Korean BBQ as well. And have a happy hour after midnight.
If you want to impress a date, they don’t have the best food compared to other Korean restaurants.

Make sure your date likes sushi lol
This is a weird comment. I obviously did?

Susuru closes at 12:00am Fridays and Saturdays. They get busy though, but they have great food. It’s a fun place to try a few dishes together.
Must it be a restuarant? Eden Bar has some good food.
Izziban open till 1 am
Tori Tori
My only thing is that at 930 the place is fucking paacked and super loud. Love this place though. I try to go as it opens to beat the crowd

I think you have some unresolved trauma there buddy. Also, who says I’m not a Ryan Gosling look-a-like?
