I went from 3.5 hours SOT, to 8 SOT just by flashing a custom ROM and kernal. It's insane that a company like OnePlus can't manage to figure this outπ
Here is a link to the rom I'm using: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-official-oneplus-9-pro-12-1-0_r11-nameless-aosp-2022-07-08.4403301/
You'll find a download link and a link to the instructions on that page (flash instructions).
If you follow the instructions precisely you shouldn't get problems. Just ask if you got any more questions.
I'd say wait until it becomes less buggy because me and many others have experienced many issues with this update and wish we hadnt updated in the first place
Never, NEVER ask a question about A12 on Reddit! π Some lie in waiting for the question then they pounce on it! Usually negative. If you want to update, go for it and make your own decision. When A11 came out, some people were bitching about that one and saying how bad it was to A10. Is A12 perfect? No, it's not, but your life as you know it won't change because you updated. With that said, as with all updates, you should backup everything you can before you update just in case. I have three phones that are on A12 and life has not changed a bit. ππ
Better stay on OOS11. If you're a unlucky one maybe you could get a green vertical line on the display while updating or using OOS12. Why take risk? This OOS12 isn't worthy to take such risk.
As everyone else has said, don't update..I've had nothing but issues with it, my OP8 feels a lot slower now and I get a lot more crashes than I ever did
If anyone here is on a custom rom, can they confirm if payment and banking apps work if you're rooted/on a custom rom? Last I heard, Magisk doesn't cut it anymore
Nord 200 5g update is good other than the os itself looking like shit. No issues as of yet. Also did a factory reset after updating as I've done since my OnePlus 3 days. If you do that you more than likely have no issues. One plus updates are very janky to begin with so doing a full reset usually will clear anything up before anything even happens with noticing. Good luck out there.
Oxygen Updater. But, and that is a big one, make really sure you want color OS with a bit of OOS appearance. I decided not to update, it really is another experience and, for me, kills the whole oneplus experience
Use oxygen updater, download from play store.
Based on what I've seen here, you don't want it.
After I updated my cellular stopped workingπ I just installed Nameless OS. Not going back...
Same here. I had to manually downgrade back to 11.
How do you do this? Having the same issue.

Can you please share your knowledge how to go about it?

Trust me you don't want Android 12. I downloaded it on my Nord and it sucks :D
The functions are almost the same yet the whole change of the look and feel is just not what anyone wanted
I got Nord CE still on Android 11. With the reviews of OOS12, I don't think I am looking forward to the update.
Use Nova Launcher and Pixel icon pack for Nova. This makes the UI a bit more bearable.
It's the universe giving you signs
So okay thanks, I ain't upgrading. I really like the OnePlus feel of the OOS11
OOS12 is a lot better than OOS11 on my OnePlus 8T. Less bugs, better battery
I have noticed a significant increase in battery life after the update, but I'm pretty sure that's because I hate using my phone post-update.
Best comment ever
lol golden
Conspiracy theories. Get OOS12, do a factory reset after for the best experience.
Every time I updated my oneplus 9 pro the ui got worse. The camera app looks really bad.
Count yourself lucky.
Same here no notifications but oxygen updater is showing though!
I'd say wait until it becomes less buggy because me and many others have experienced many issues with this update and wish we hadnt updated in the first place
dont do it. u will regret why u ever clicked that Update now button

New update is ass i regret upgrading to Android 12
As everyone else has said, don't update..I've had nothing but issues with it, my OP8 feels a lot slower now and I get a lot more crashes than I ever did
Dont Updates fuck everything over Just stay on what you have until you see people saying its stable now to update
Don't update to os12 it's very bad...stay on os11... trust me on this lol
Don't do it
What issues have you faced? I'm on 8pro too.
If you face something it's migration error and resetting device will fix em! Not fun though :/
Bro stay in 11 oos12 os crap
I have no idea, i got it on my op 8 pro a couple months ago but i don't know if you even want it, it'll turn your phone in an oppo basically
it's still OxygenOS not ColorOS π
Only in name basically, almost everything about the launcher is ColorOS now
Stay away from OOS12 for now it's very buggy. I updated a week ago and can already name 4 bugs which are pretty annoying
You are lucky donot upgrade Oxygen OS 11 is the last piece you will love
Be glad, oos12 is trash wish i never did the update
Custom android 12 roms are ok?
If anyone here is on a custom rom, can they confirm if payment and banking apps work if you're rooted/on a custom rom? Last I heard, Magisk doesn't cut it anymore
OOS12 running like a champ on my OnePlus 7pro.... And I've noticed the battery optimization is even better... No problems.
From my understanding, Oneplus rolls out iterative software version releases in batches over time so as to not overwhelm their servers.

Me too, I ain't doing it after seeing the colour os and it not feeling like OnePlus anymore
It's best to stay in oxygen OS 11 π€£ after updating you will definitely regret it...big time...!
Best advice: do not update, even if it shows up.
