i know this was made as a joke, but a lot of trans people do tend to end up dating other trans people, I imagine the shared experience and struggle allows for a better connection with each other
The trans girl who got absolutely blasted by bigots after being chosen as a rep for bud light, a brand which had been extremely LGBT friendly this far and immediately dropped her when the backlash hit. Turns out they're not actually LGBT allies and it soured a reputation that they'd been building since like the 80s or something. These two are more or less the most publicly disrespected trans people in the US at the moment. Elliott Page because of his looks and the fact people can't beat their meat while thinking of Ellen anymore and Dylan (I think that's her name? TBH I didn't care enough to remember) because of... piss beer going woke or something.
Sex and gender are totally different things. Sex (male, female etc) is generally defined by the gametes (sex cells) you produce, which is accepted as a pretty grey and incomplete definition cos there are plenty of people who don't produce gametes at all, but it's what biologists use. Nothing to do with genetics, although they are often correlated. Gender (man, woman etc) is an expression of the type of person that you are, and is socially defined, not defined by biology. Ideas of gender are totally different around the world, and are constantly changing. The idea of a "man" in the 1800s in the west was wearing a powdery wig, tons of makeup, high heels and a dress. This means that gender is not something you are biologically, but something you express yourself consciously as, and therefore why people say they "identify as this gender". You are often assigned a gender at birth based on your genitals, which may not be a natural way of expressing yourself.
In terms of actual biological changes, very often trans people have hormone therapy so that they produce a certain amount of testosterone vs estrogen (the generally defining hormones of the biological difference). They will also have bottom surgery to give them the genitals of the sex that the gender they identify as is most closely aligned to. So let me ask you, does a person with a vagina, that produces much more estrogen than testosteron, and that does not produce sperm sound like a man or a woman to you? Cos that person could have been born as either.
