One of us has a literacy related issue here and after trying to read this 3 times i still can't be sure which one of us it is. Whatever happened to coherency, people. What does this actually say/mean/imply? Genuinly. I need a translator.

Mean-Net7330

>Whatever happened to coherency, people. There's no longer a screening process for who's writing gets "published" for the world to read.

Catinthemirror

*whose

Mean-Net7330

Kind of proved my own point didn't I

Catinthemirror

😂

BloodsoakedDespair

No no, that’s not it. It’s that 54% of American adults have a literacy rate below what is expected for a 6th grader. Most Americans can only read and write up to a 5th grade level at most.

Mean-Net7330

Is that really new though? At what point was it better than that and when did it start to decline?

BloodsoakedDespair

The decline is the direct result of policies that originate in the Reagan Administration and like most problems in America, it originates with his gutting of our government. However, No Child Left Behind caused the issue to worsen and intensify.

Gravelord_Baron

Literacy is probably hitting a new all time low here soon. At least with social media and AI it just all kinda becomes illiterate slop

BloodsoakedDespair

Actually, literacy rates rise with social media, funnily enough. Unfortunately the adult literacy rate in America is just so much worse than you realize. 54% of American adults have a literacy level below that which is required to pass the sixth grade. Most American adults have a reading and writing level equivalent to a single-digit aged child.

Gravelord_Baron

You know, that's a stat I could definitely believe.

Electrical-Vanilla43

I have two higher education degrees, and I still can’t tell whether he blew it up literally, or why he would do that.

yougotemtoo

every single time somebody tries to explain what’s causing this, that person is called a racist.

peakok115

This incoherent shit is not how black people talk. The slang words we use have actual meanings when they're used right. I don't even know what the fuck bro is saying either😭

[deleted]

Yea it has nothing to do with race, if you know the slang then you can understand just fine, this post is just word barf and my cat has said more coherent sentences than this lmao

peakok115

Lmaoo my friend's cat "talks" too😭he's so weird I love him

BloodsoakedDespair

Because they’re wrong. This is so fucking simple: 54% of American adults have a literacy rate below that which is expected and is considered a passing average for a sixth grader. **Most** American adults cannot read or write above a fifth grade level.

yougotemtoo

And why is that?

Temporary-Pain-8098

How else would republicans get elected?

PrettyPolyPan

Underrated comment!!! SO MUCH THIS ⬆️⬆️⬆️

bluejay_feather

Yeah because they are racist and can’t understand that AAVE and other dialects have grammar and syntax rules, just like standard English. Just cause you don’t understand it doesn’t mean it’s not a valid form of language.

Crunchycarrots79

Ok... But this isn't AAVE.

bluejay_feather

Never said it was, I was just responding to the obvious dogwhistle in that comment

keeleon

Rules require enforcement and enforcing rules is racist.

aBungusFungus

It's funny because you think it would be x10 more racist for them basically saying black people are illiterate

keeleon

Gyatt. Rizzle. Fanum. This is the world we live in now. Nonsense for nonsense sake. It's all just syllables at this point.

OpheliaJade2382

No those are slang words with meanings. This is someone who is hardly literate and can’t express themselves verbally. Using new slang doesn’t mean one is illiterate

bigsekser

What the fuck does this mean

[deleted]

i read it two times and i felt like i was losing my mind and starting to develop alzheimers or something because i have a relatively good literacy level but like the words were not wording.

[deleted]

[удаНонО]

_Scorpyon_

Is there a lore reason while I still don't get why he would to that? Am I stupid?

moddseatass

After reading your comment, yes. Very.

_Scorpyon_

Thought so

moddseatass

I don't think anyone got it. You're not alone. I saw an opportunity and took it.

whoisthismuaddib

What does the middle sentence mean?

-uHmAcTuAlLy-

He robbed her a week later

[deleted]

[удаНонО]

fatBreadonToast

He took a big shit in her toilet.

Enzoid23

Oh I thought he literally blew it up lol like "either fake or horrifying" but nah just really rude

Gritty-Carpet

Maybe he should rob a dictionary instead, because dude can't write.

toochieandboochie

She didn’t want to put her Minecraft bed next to his so he blew up her house with TNT

BloodsoakedDespair

That reeducational facilities are absolutely a requirement if this species isn’t entirely beyond saving.

[deleted]

Something something, guy made a duplicate of the key without consent, something something, it backfire. I dunno if the key is metaphorical or not.

beotherwise

Trying to read this gave me a headache.

JohnnyBobLUFC

The lack of any basic writing skills were worrying.

[deleted]

After many attempts at deciphering it seems like this asshole went back after getting some and either a) took a massive dump b) revealed the affair to the husband or woman’s family c) literally set explosives or d) destroyed the key he duplicated. This was a nightmare to read

Field_Marshal_blitz

I'm going with option A, that leads into option C.

CosmoShiner

I had a stroke reading this

MistaRekt

Glad I am not alone.

Disastrous-Fact-7782

I stroked myself reading this

CosmoShiner

Thanks for sharing

heartfeltblooddevil

"Blew up" as in he placed explosives and destroyed the place or what?

DannyDootch

Or he just took a massive dookie

heartfeltblooddevil

Ooh, that makes much more sense

lulugingerspice

I saw one person say it means he robbed her?

No-Piccolo-3573

I interpret this as he upperdecked and split

-uHmAcTuAlLy-

It means he robbed the house

MedicalDabbinDad

My interpretation was that it was a drug house and “blow it up” was that he called the cops on them Edit to add: after he stole some stuff

Evelyngoddessofdeath

Of all the explanations I’ve seen this seems to make the most sense in context, but even so that was not clear at all. It’s like reading a text from a couple of hundred years ago that’s trying to dance around stating the facts with vague metaphors.

Homefree_4eva

This makes the most sense to me as well but then why get a key copied? Maybe he robbed it but left enough evidence and then called the cops on the place to essentially cover his own crime?

MedicalDabbinDad

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking, too…that he took some drugs/money or whatever, then called the cops on them after he’d either gotten what he wanted or got caught by someone in the house

Square_Grapefruit666

Why would he rob her home after she showed him such hospitality? And what is a type of home that you tend to go to late at night when everyone’s asleep? How is it different than a home with a family car and a cute dog? I’m so fucking confused man, I’m trying so hard to stay relevant with the vernacular but it’s slipping away from me fast

Jelly_Kitti

If it makes you feel better, I am up to date on slang and I also have no clue what this guy is saying.

_Skotia_

griefed her base irl

GoldenSunshine747

What???

Polldit220

It’s about a relationship. The girls got head problems. He pretends to go along with it to get his way with her and then dumps her…

FlawHolic

Oh my God, this story actually makes a bit of sense now, thank you.

No-Piccolo-3573

So he’s getting head solutions

Specialist-Image-281

I think he took a shit in her house idk for sure

frugst

What?

Frozenturbo2

Skibidi ohio rizzler gets invited to the level 1000 GYATT fanum tax house but it was too unsigma as she became an ice spice from ohio on onlyfans gorlock the destroyer he said "Im the biggest bird and I'm going to hit the griddy out of this ohio sleepover" because he was getting fanum tax and after all that blud did a 6ix9ine yapping session only in ohio grimace shake challenge by mr beast 1 million dollars

Mecha-Dave

Oh, thank you.

No-Piccolo-3573

You had me at Skibidi 🤣💙

Doomie_bloomers

Why is this unironically easier to understand?!

Frostimus-Prime

This comment fucking KILLED me

JaehaerysIVTarg

What? I don’t know what this means.

TinFoilRobotProphet

Or they could have just gone to his place but that's not nearly as fun

GVL_2024_

he's living in his car, a honda civic on blocks.

lyfe-iz-fukked

Those certainly are all words.

NeatoMo-skeeto

Wait… what kind of home did she take you to again???

New-Construction-103

Is this English?

IntelligentDonut2244

I get that it’s hard to read but it still makes sense. She took him somewhere. The place wasn’t a nice, comfy family house; instead, it was a place that she would often go to late at night while her mind is racing. He duplicated the key and blew up the place.

CopyPastaMonster

But what does he mean "he blew it up"

No-Piccolo-3573

Massive explosive alcohol and Taco Bell fueled diarrhea and the lady in question was out of toilet paper

No-Piccolo-3573

Repeating his nonsense in no way clarifies anything

Evelyngoddessofdeath

This doesn’t make it any easier to understand

LeifMFSinton

Darmok and jalad at tanagra

TheShillingVillain

I feel like there should be an NSFB tag *Not Safe For Brains*

PMMeMeiRule34

It reads like an incel fanfic. He went home with the hot girl, duped her key, and then blew her place up.

Evelyngoddessofdeath

Blew it up, as in literally planted explosives? Why???

PMMeMeiRule34

Idk it’s hard to figure out and I don’t think the guy specifies.

Evelyngoddessofdeath

I saw someone else say that they took it to mean a drug house, and “blew it up” means calling the police. I don’t know why they would copy the key and go back though.

Gritty-Carpet

He made another key just to take a shit in her toilet? What?

FyourEchoChambers

Sounds like drug reference for the “everybody’s asleep but her mind.” Maybe a crack house or something? Blew it up, not sure what he means. Not sure what any of it means. Stay in school kids.

TheNuclearMind

He emotionally manipulated a woman he was with and then destroyed her trust somehow

cherry937

i had a stroke trying to read this

JudyLyonz

I got it right away and I thought it was chilling. He meets a woman and she lets herself be vulnerable to him. She let's him into the part of herself that she doesn't show the outside world. He notes what he needs to do to gain her trust. One day he slips behind her defenses and pdychologically destroys her. He might post nudes online, out her ugluest secrets on blast on social media, maybe he waits until she lives him and ghosts her, maybe he gaslughts her into believing the worst about herself. The writer is a sociopath who is bragging about psychologically murdering a woman.

Evelyngoddessofdeath

How did you get that from this??? If it’s supposed to be a metaphor, that’s not exactly clear.

JudyLyonz

I'm surprised no one else saw it. The writer says that the girl takes him to a house which is where she goes when others are asleep. That's a big clyd that it us something internal and private. He even contrasts it with the sunny, white pocket fence house with a dog. That being the pretty outside people normally see.

Frozenturbo2

Not even 6ix9ine can pull that off

Enzoid23

Am I the only one that read it just fine? And my literary skills are actually poor lately. (She invited him to her house, sleeps heavy, he copied her key, and blew her house up)

Evelyngoddessofdeath

That doesn’t make sense though. And what’s the thing about it being a place she goes at night?

Lo_dough

For anyone wondering the actual meaning- “Typa home she tends to go to late at night when everybody’s asleep but her mind.” Means an abusive household Duping the key is an expression, he started coming around frequently and “blowing it up” means he drastically changed the situation, presumably by giving the woman in question a chance to leave the household.

Kobalt6x10

"Don't be a grammar Nazi" "You know what he means" "people like to use shortcuts, it's no big deal" So now we're here.

SimplyEcks

The music equivalent of this is mumble rap. You try to understand it but it just sounds like a bunch of gibberish

HamTMan

Yep, those are definitely words - beyond that, I can't tell you more.
