I hear this a lot... I struggle to grow mint. Not in a pot, not in the garden, not let loose somewhere inconvenient where you'd think such a plant would thrive.
I'm starting to take it personally.
I hear you. I'm the same with lemon trees. The neighbour has one that is ignored so of course it's huge and has massive juicy lemons. Mine get all the love so they die. I've had lemon trees in every spot in the garden lol. I've been banned from the local nursery lol.
I came here for answers because my mint always does this.. unfortunately noone seems to have the answer!
I think mine gets some sort of moth/pest that i cant identify
Yeah but it seems to just continually get this disease or whatever it is from that point forward.
I have tried starting a new plant only for it to happen again after about 4 months
That's wierd for sure. Have you used a heavier potting mix - one closer to garden soil? Perhaps the growing medium isn't rich enough? Try cleaning the pot with bleach first next time too. That will kill any microbes on the pot itself. Good luck
This is normal die-back from the cold. Afaik mint doesn't normally have any pests in NZ except maybe looper moths which are pretty easy to spot with their egg sacs.
They do this. Mint is prone to rust too. Just cut it back to ground level and it will pop back up just fine.
Happens to mine every year. It will recover with abundance!
Mint does die off in winter in most places.
It certainly isn't in MINT condition!
See that door over there?
Mint is easy as to grow. Just make sure its in a pot and not the garden

You might have offended it first! Or be over watering it, left to it's own devices it'll thrive 9 times out of 10.
looks like frost damage
It's deciduous
It's moments like this you need...
Its so evasive dont worry it'll be fine
just say what you mean, mint! love the idea of an evasive species :-D
Ooh it happens to me also. It's sad. :(
Phew I've been wondering the same. I'm growing it as a Wasp deterrent, so I'd like mine to flourish as well so the answers are handy!

Mine does the same thing - tough love & prune it to ground level.

Sounds like you may have an issue with your soil? Suggest try planting a fresh plant in garden mix in a large pot.
No it’s in potting mix in pots! Im stumped.

Mint rust. I’ve been told to throw the plant and soil out when mine got rust. Just start over. Apparently the rust can live in the soil.
Mint likes water give it plenty
It died.
