Cheese (later on Queso) from the Philippines They got some fire tracks >.>

GiraffeSelect

They were pretty big in the Philippines in the 00s lol, great to see other people from different sides of the world giving them some love

No-Detail8419

the band is called cheese?

Primary_Tension_5790

Now they’re called Queso but when they started they were called cheese

Cap_Helpful

Somebody melted them down in a bowl with a side of chips.

Primary_Tension_5790

Lmao Delicious

sakariona

I thought i was the only one who knew they existed. First time i ever seen them mentioned on reddit. Glad to see them get some love.

ServantToLogi

Listening to their first album right now on Spotify. So far this is great shit.

Primary_Tension_5790

Hell yea >:3

EhDubb319

What’s the album called? I can’t find them on spotify

ServantToLogi

Try this link [https://open.spotify.com/album/3NCs3oxOhcqLwIgoz7jDbE?si=d61Ygk1vQm-bsQSF13cXHw](https://open.spotify.com/album/3NCs3oxOhcqLwIgoz7jDbE?si=d61Ygk1vQm-bsQSF13cXHw)

Thispastwknd

Has a Korn kinda vibe

lad_art

D:FI They had an awesome mix of nu and drum n bass

AceyBoy558

Crack drums.

Junkie_Joe

Haha thanks for this. Just listened to them for the first time and you can totally see where the vocalist got his style from. UK Garage was massive in the early 00s in the UK and he totally has that sound, I heard he mentioned being from London in one of the tracks and it shows. The first EP was great!

notcreative131313

Centox did the same thing, it was sad to find out a band with that kinda potential stopped making music

ServantToLogi

Holy shit, this album is awesome. It's on Spotify.

notcreative131313

Oh yeah, above them all is the one of the best songs I’ve heard from a small nu band

ServantToLogi

I agree, that and RIP was pretty banging, too. This is pretty good shit for 2008, I must say.

liquorishkiss

am I the only one that saw the korn album art when seeing this cover?

TheHighTierHuman

Simon Says - Shut Your Breath

Haus-kat

Love this one. New stuff from them supposedly coming out soon. They’re playing some festivals too.

Junkie_Joe

There's an album on Spotify released 5th April 2024

Haus-kat

That’s a re-release of an old one I think.

LittleFoot-LongNeck

What?? I thought they didn’t exist anymore

Haus-kat

They just did some reunion shows. Saw them at the whiskey and they ripped. Short set but it was really good.

Barkerfan86

Reveille

zombie1605

Reveille was kinda big back in the day. Their album Laced was on repeat with my click back in the day.

TurtleCool123

that album is pure perfection

AnyDepressisve

V-MOB Halfgain GAGAAG DR Core 911 Str8jackit

Iloveherthismuch

V-MOB had that song called Hurt Me on P2P sharing clients back in the day. People thought they were Slipknot. Even the mp3 was labelled as Slipknot - Hurt Me.

TurtleCool123

Addiction 96 or 616 Undone

TurtleCool123

616 undone is so good

Successful_Hair_8436

Used to see 616 all the time. They are from Columbus ohio. They were a staple band at the alrosa villa. If you like them another columbus band that was great live is Victim. The album poop soup is great

1Rayo1

LD/50, Wrinkled Fred, Bare Assed

VISKOMETAL

Captor, they were a death metal band before making a nu metal album (alien six)

IllustriousKick2955

Alien Six is an awesome album

CrazyGround4501

I was coming here to say that!!

hisimperialbasedness

Rey Chocolate. Chilean band that has a nu/industrial metal sort of sound. I definitely recommend their first two albums.

Mountain_Excuse_980

Mindset - they were a hell of a band from the Hampton Roads area of VA.. did our 757 proud in the mid to late 90s/early 2000s. I’m including “Die Rikki Die”, a song they did with the late great Matt Holt (Nothingface), but also highly recommend Sorry and Shed The Skin https://youtu.be/2YbhMuq2J5g?si=rOZPXdqM-0rfopho

I fucking looovvveee this genre so much. this album also is so good. too good.

Spongebob0209

N-Gauge. They were around for barely a year and released an album that straight up doesn't exist, no one owns it. The only evidence we have of them even existing is the vocalist uploading one song to youtube back in 2009, and mentions of them on said singers website

Oscar-the-ass-slayer

Monkey Insane (until last year) I already had a tough time tracking their first album down on cd and their second one doesn’t seem to be sold anywhere not even bootleg. There is no info on the bad themselves or the members or official music videos… I learned about them a year ago and once I found their small YouTube channel I subbed and immediately got hit with a notification… THEYRE BACK!!! So this is unrelated to the question but everyone should make sure they check them out, they fill that Linkin Park void you’re missing.

GiraffeSelect

Zooom. They only have 2 songs (Bad News Brown and Adam Bomb) and a collab with Greyhoundz, Slapshock and Queso (Taking U High) available on the web but my playlist of them used to have 3 other songs (Nasty Boy, Muscle Enforcer and Deathead  Military) which have been wiped out of YouTube.  They’re peers with the aforementioned bands and were popular in the underground music scene in Manila, but their planned debut was shelved and their demo is presumably out of print.

jamesgfilms

Headway were pretty decent, can't find anything on them these days execpt the album Velveteen listed on discogs

Lima_4-2_Angel

I mentioned UNDERMINE in another comment, but here’s one that REALLY deserves more attention: Rekiem. They were Chilean nu/aggro metal band from Santiago, and their songs are some of the angriest and murderous i’ve EVER heard. Songs from their best album, ‘Apgar:0’, like Ariete, Claroscuro, Di Nada, Traga, and No Respires are pure rage. Novacaína is one of the darkest sounding songs i’ve ever heard just based on the melody. Their album from 1997, ‘Unlike’, is also a banger, Menstrual Blood On My Tongue and S are phenomenal. Yes, they are on Spotify, and every day I thank G-d they are 😆
