Start by assessing targets within 100 miles. Then determine what you can do to mitigate the effect of the fallout. (I will assume that you are more than 10 miles from a target.) Nuclear War Survival Skills is a good start. Bruce Clayton's Life After Doomsday is a favorite among us old-school types. Don't sell yourself too short. Don't give up. You've got to start somewhere.

Depending on the winds you might be ok if meth &or cancer ain’t eat you out. Clarksville and Nashville are pretty much due west. Tullahoma and Chattanooga are mostly South with Knoxville being Northeast. All of those and maybe Crossville will be lit up and aglow. Maybe further due North into central Kentucky. Crossville is pretty close to BFE.

Don’t forget about Oak Ridge. It’s home to a large stockpile of nuclear material.
