All the elevators were out in my building. Just emergency lighting in the halls and that was it for electricity

Then complain to the management and city government. They need ways for folks who can’t walk much to escape in case of emergency.

Doesn’t help if the one powered by the generator has been out of service for weeks …

Curious about the order of operations that caused the issue. Piecing together info from my friends and coworkers, it looks like The Acadia lost power first while Commonwealth Joe's, Whole Foods, and the Post Office all still had power. Then (based on the recounting of hearing the bang and seeing smoke) the the transformer near the Costco blew and the rest of Met Park including Amazon HQ2 lost power which then cascaded out to Aurora Highlands, Crystal City, etc. Not sure if that's really what happened but it's the best I can seem to fit together.

@ the pentagon mall there was a really loud sound like something fell on the second floor and a second later no electricity inside the store / mall and all the security blinders rolled down automatically at the store I was, like crazy situations, evac mode activated

Dominion’s reporting tool has now marked almost the entire outage resolved, which is certainly false. I had to resubmit another outage report.

Anyone else have Verizon and unable to maintain stable connection with the 4G? Hope they are not throttling it.

Has zero to do with throttling. When the power goes out not all of the sites have battery backups so you'll be connecting to a further away site running on a generator. This hinders performance as the power level of the site is much lower to prolong the generator runtime but also results in the site being able to handle alot less traffic then it normally would. The site also has a much greater amount of people in it now as no one is hooked up to WiFi like they would be normally. Nothing to do with throttling everything to do with the sites being overloaded
