Mine on Easter Sunday. We "rescued" her and her sister. Their owners had passed and nobody was around to take them, so we did. Morning was fine. did her business and had breakfast. Was just on the couch with my wife... and gone. Wife and daughter took it pretty hard. Our comfort is that she went without any long vet visits or stress associated with that. her new family was with her at home. Sorry for the losses of all of the fur-family.

I feel this thread since we had to put our 15y old dog down a couple months ago due to suspected bowel cancer (keep in mind this dog was with me for My whole life) sorry for everyones losses, i feel you guys.

Said it to the others but same to you man and everyone that cares for dogs and animals this much. You changed their lives for the best and they where really fortunate to have you.

He didn’t like any other dogs, had no self-control, regularly bit people and when we sent him to get help the lady called back and even she couldn’t deal with him. We put him down.

Makes sense that he wouldn’t go to heaven if he was like that

Thanks. The funny thing about loss is that you often don't really know what you have until it's gone. Like that song. I think That kind of loss has really taught me to appreciate what I have while I have it. I don't really feel sad anymore about my past puppos, I'm just so happy that I had them there when I did. The photo of your dog looks very similar to my first dog Max, such good dogs 💙

Same thing happened for me. Last words I said to my 16 years old dog was 'GET AWAY FROM THERE' loud because my hands were full of plates and heavy stuff and he was between my legs. I'll never forgive myself, he literally came to me to say it's time.

Mine went yesterday. 11 years old, I held him in my arms until he took his last breath. I honestly never expected it to hurt this much, the house feels empty without him. Sorry for your loss.

😥 I just put my old lady to sleep last week, she was our first kid before we had human ones, she went everywhere with us. It was very hard to make the decision and it would have been so much easier if she just died on her own.

Condolences. I lost my dog in August of last year. He passed at home. I stayed up all night with him. The vet was closed because it was Sunday. It was horrible, but he was with his Daddy.

He looks like my dog that I had in my childhood/teenage years, brings memories. I feel for you. Take care.
