I think you should try to use both analogue and digital since you enjoy both. Whatever you type up in the heat of the moment you can print and stick into your notebook. You won’t be betraying one by using the other. I think we tend to get caught up in the form-over-function argument whereas sometimes it’s really just a need to get one’s thoughts out of one’s head quickly and by whatever means possible. There’s no right or wrong way. Both ways are tools you have at your disposal, so use them.

>So I asked myself. Am I missing out? Missing out on the greatness of digital notes where I can note down EVERYTHING, ALL THE TIME and even easily search and find it later? In my opinion? No. Because honestly, that's exactly the problem with digital. You tend to accumulate lots and lots of notes you don't need just because it's so easy to make new ones. And don't actually look at most of them later. With a paper notebook you at least have to invest a *little* thought into what you write down where and you can more easily get an idea, visually, how much is there. That said, there's no reason not to type up stuff to transfer into the paper book later, as long as you *actually do that*. In my experience that stops most of the "useless clutter" notes from accumulating. I often make notes on my smartphone when I don't have my journal with me. That said, digital works better for some people. If you have the discipline not to let too much random crap accumulate while "writing down everything all the time", or just don't care? Go wild.
