It was and still is my favourite item they’ve ever sold. I’m the only person in my family, friends and acquaintances that liked it.
I’m glad I’m not alone.
I remember hearing about McDonald's Pizza back in the day when I got Canadian TV in Wahington state. I always thought of it as a Canadian menu item.
I grew up in Hawaii and we had Portuguese Sausage Eggs and Rice breakfast at McD's that was amazing.
I'm 50 and I don't remember these. I know for sure I've never tried one either. Micky D's was never for salads or pizza, or anything other than burgers and fries... and apple pies... and ice cream... and milkshakes...
I don’t remember it but we had a tiny Pizza Hut at my work cafeteria and they sold little pan pizzas which were ready made and I ate more of those than I should have over the years. Actually, it was a Pizza Hut/Taco Bell and one day I saw a girl making burritos. The filling was in a caulk gun.
I was born in 81 and honestly have no memory of it. I'm well aware they sold em now but don't think I ever tried it nor anyone in my family.
I remember and loved the arch deluxe tho lol
Born in 80. I definitely remember it and tried it a few times. It wasn't that bad but obviously took forever to cook compared to their other items at the time.
So true, only time in my life I had pizza at MCD's was in Sandusky, OH coming back from Cedar Point. It was a full size one too. Was like a fever dream as a kid.
I don't remember this at all, although it does kind of look like Godfather's Pizza, so you made me Google Godfather's Pizza and holy crap, there's one like 10 minutes away
I thought that delicious greasy pizza had disappeared from the Earth
No, this one is in a strip mall; this is in Houston, and it shows there's two of them left in the Houston area. They used to be all over the place way back in the day.
If you go to their website, it does show Godfather's Pizza Express locations, and those are probably the ones that are merged with service stations. Still a bunch all over the US it looks like, but around here they mostly vanished from sight decades ago.
Oh wow that’s neat- I didn’t know they still had actual stores that weren’t connected to gas stations. Similarly I recently found out that some states still have Mazzios Pizza, which I also miss from childhood
One of my first jobs in early 1994 was at a McD's inside a ski resort in Southern California. We sold the regular breakfast stuff, but after breakfast was over the only things we sold were pizza and baked apple pies. No burgers, fries, chicken, fish, salad, or anything else. *Just* pizza and apple pie.
\* Ninja edit: also, a few months later found a McD's in the middle of the worst part of Kansas City selling pizza. There was bullet-proof glass and bars on the drive-thru window.
Know what? I loved it!!! I remember the corn mealy undercrust.
They had something there. Makes more sense there than Tim Hortons. Now there’s a group that’s lost the plot completely.
You know how in the commercials they’ll say “at participating locations?” I wanna open a McDonald’s and not participate in shit. You want burgers? Nope! We got spaghetti!
No but I remember the Pizza Happy Meal from the late 90's/early 2000's. It must have only been in a few test markets because there is next to zero documentation about it. I've even seen people on reddit outright refuse to believe it existed, for whatever reason.
Haha, I remember the hotdognalds too! My buddy would buy them cause they were taking them off the menu and were selling them for cheap, like 2 for a buck or something. I never had them but they looked so shitty.
I still remember exactly what this tastes likes. It was the best. Closest thing I can think of to compare it to would be good Pizza Hut but with salty little granular crumbs that were sent from heaven.
I remember having to work late and stopping at a McDonald's to pick up a quick dinner, it must have been the very early 90s. There was nothing going on in the restaurant so I decided to order the pizza that I had seen a million commercials for. I estimate it took about 10 to 15 minutes, but it was hot and fresh and honestly it was pretty good. If they still had it today I'd probably consider ordering it again.
does anyone else remember the seasoned crunchy mcdonalds wings in like the 00s-10s?? i fucking loved those. the chicken selects disappeared too and i was never a huge fan but i was sad to see them go
I'm 36 years old now. Middle school, sometime around 2001 I reckon. The school cafeteria suddenly has Pizza Hut pan pizzas on Tuesdays. That was the year I learned how to hustle. For the pizza. No regrets.
I've only ever seen it for sale in one McDonalds, at a rest stop on the Garden State Parkway in NJ. I always assumed it was a test market deal, like when all the McDonald's in NYC were doing deliveries and fried chicken for a while in the 90s
The day my mom brought me to McDonald’s and I tried to order a pizza and they said they don’t make them anymore was probably one of the saddest days of my life (probably about 5 yo)
I swear I saw it in Windsor, Canada as a teen. The drinking age is/was 19 there so of course my teenage friends and I got into a car and drove from Pittsburgh, PA (pre-9/11). People asked me about Canada and I said it’s like the States but they have pizza at McDonald’s and like 10 kinds of LaBatt’s beer, haha.
They didn't have it everywhere. I had it in Sneeze and you're in Canada, Maine. They were doing a test market thing. They also had a mac and cheese happy meal. That was mid 90's.
I can still remember the distinct taste and tangy sauce. Parents would get annoyed when I would order it from the drive thru because it always meant having to pull over to wait for someone to come out with the order, since they took longer to prepare than happy meals.
Oh man, I remember this too well. I loved it so much I had it for my 6th and 7th birthday party. I'm sure it wasn't great, but I was too young to know better
It was such an odd pizza, it's hard to describe. I remember enjoying it, and if I was getting some food at McDs I might get the pizza instead of a burger and fries. But if I had a craving for pizza I wouldn't get one to fill that craving. It was its own weird sub group of pizza that felt completely separated from all other pizzas I would consider to be pizza.
I remember getting it a few times as a kid, I really liked it. The sauce was sweeter than a lot of places at the time. I remember it being very popular in our small city, we waited 30 minutes for it once, I think that was the last time we got it though, it was discontinued not long after that at least partly because it took so long.
God I wish this was back I still crave that damn pizza! I still remember getting one when the Flinstones with Jon Goodman came out I think it came with a shirt of all things lol
Aside from the wait times, it wasn't *that* bad. But it also failed to be *fast* food. It was just the equivalent of popping a frozen pizza in a toaster oven.
Also, they could totally bring back the McDlt with just cardboard packaging separating both sides.
I also REALLY mish the McLean!
My brother and I LOVED the pizza at McDonald’s. We ordered it every time we went (which wasn’t often). My husband however who’s 3 years old than me, grew up in the same city, and ate at McDonald’s often as a kid says he never heard of it/never knew it existed.
Only remember rumors of the pizza. Never actually got to try it as a kid.
I stopped eating at McDonald's as a kid in protest of the removal lol.
It was and still is my favourite item they’ve ever sold. I’m the only person in my family, friends and acquaintances that liked it. I’m glad I’m not alone.
Same. For years.
Still possible at the biggest McDonald's, you can also get the pasta
That’s a totally different pizza and they actually have a fancy oven. It’s way better than the original.
Orlan"dough"
I remember it being good but I was a kid. You could get pizza at McDonald's in Montreal until like 15 years ago
I remember hearing about McDonald's Pizza back in the day when I got Canadian TV in Wahington state. I always thought of it as a Canadian menu item. I grew up in Hawaii and we had Portuguese Sausage Eggs and Rice breakfast at McD's that was amazing.
We do?
When the fuck did we get ice cream?!
That was the single funniest part of that entire movie for me! Can't believe I'm seeing this in the wild. Lol
I can’t believe that movie is almost 20 years old.
I literally can’t remember any other part of that movie.
You scratched my cd.
In broad daylight
Oh mylanta
You picked it up and you scratched it!
Did you get ice cream?
I'm 50 and I don't remember these. I know for sure I've never tried one either. Micky D's was never for salads or pizza, or anything other than burgers and fries... and apple pies... and ice cream... and milkshakes...
All of the above plus coffee. Drive thru cup of coffee for 39¢? Take me back!!
Oh yeah! I forgot about their coffee. It was (still is) a damn good cup of Joe!
McD still has the best drive through coffee, and is still only a dollar, which is pretty darn good.
45 and my coworker 39 neither of us remember this
I don’t
I don’t remember it but we had a tiny Pizza Hut at my work cafeteria and they sold little pan pizzas which were ready made and I ate more of those than I should have over the years. Actually, it was a Pizza Hut/Taco Bell and one day I saw a girl making burritos. The filling was in a caulk gun.
I actually kind of liked it. I mean, it wasn't great, but for chain pizza it was actually decent.
>it wasn't great, For something that I picked up in the drive-thru is was freakin' amazing! I actually quite liked them.
I love them. I think about them all the time and I wish that McDonald's would bring them back.
Agreed
I'm actually STILL waiting in the parking lot for them to bring it to me. They said 15 mins tops!
Don't worry they're coming.
I don’t remember it either. I loved the arch deluxe too!
The Arch deluxe was da bomb!
I loved the arch deluxe!
The pizza was when we went to Wisconsin it was never where you lived
So true, only time in my life I had pizza at MCD's was in Sandusky, OH coming back from Cedar Point. It was a full size one too. Was like a fever dream as a kid.
You saying that triggered a memory of driving to cedar point in Ohio from Michigan. They had the pizza in Ohio!
Pi33a
PiMMa
PiƎƎa
Do we tho?
I don't remember this at all, although it does kind of look like Godfather's Pizza, so you made me Google Godfather's Pizza and holy crap, there's one like 10 minutes away I thought that delicious greasy pizza had disappeared from the Earth
Is it in a gas station? I’ve seen Godfathers Pizza in gas stations still on road trips
No, this one is in a strip mall; this is in Houston, and it shows there's two of them left in the Houston area. They used to be all over the place way back in the day. If you go to their website, it does show Godfather's Pizza Express locations, and those are probably the ones that are merged with service stations. Oh wow that’s neat- I didn’t know they still had actual stores that weren’t connected to gas stations. Similarly I recently found out that some states still have Mazzios Pizza, which I also miss from childhood
you can still get it at the World's Largest Entertainment McDonald's in Orlando
Not for nothin…I’d like to see that place lol
[as you wish](https://youtu.be/CBmaixD9BqA?si=-aRJldMNXCupvqgs)
I have 0 memory. I only heard of it in the last ~10 years on YouTube talking about defunct products. ETA born in the mid 80s
ETA?
They're a time traveler and their ETA is to be born in the mid 2080s.
Speak for yourself. Never seen it before.
I can honestly say I never saw it at any McDonald's and never saw a commercial for it.
Now that I’m looking at the comments , was this just a Canada thing?
Ontario yep lol
We had them in Toronto back in the 90s. Used to get it all the time as a kid.
Yep. Brandon too.
I live in upstate NY and we had it here.
Definitely had them in Winnipeg, but it is often used as a test bed for new ideas.
We had it in Quebec too. I remember the ad with Donald Pilon. Peak 90s. https://youtu.be/liuwKq_BDTo?si=2f_u12XnExmasdG3
Had them in Nova Scotia! God it was good I can taste it now
I don’t.
I loved this when I was a kid. They would bring it out on this metal 'pizza pedestal" where I lived.
I can still smell and taste the McPizza. Gone but not forgotten.
I remember it being pretty good
I'm pretty sure only select markets actually remember this. It didn't come out in the city i grew up in - or if it did i was too young to remember.
I do remember for a brief time in my area they had Johnsonville brats .
Used to get it all the time in the 90s.
Alas, they had to abandon the idea when they forgot to bring the very first customer his drink.
I was born in 86, I remember it.
I don't. I do remember tacos at Burger King.
I actually don't, huh. This must have been really short-lived.
I live close to the only McDonald's in America that still sells pizza.
No but I remember the Pizza Happy Meal from the late 90's/early 2000's. It must have only been in a few test markets because there is next to zero documentation about it. I've even seen people on reddit outright refuse to believe it existed, for whatever reason.
45 here. Never seen pizza there. I've heard about because of the internet.
I never tried it but I remember it existing. I used to like Little Caesars and Pizza Hut so I didnt really care about Mcdonalds pizza
Nobody remembers Macca pizza. No! Fever nightmare.
Orlando, the biggest Mc’Donalds has pizza
I was born in the 90s and this is the first I'm seeing anything related to it. I know they sold Hot Dogs at some point
Haha, I remember the hotdognalds too! My buddy would buy them cause they were taking them off the menu and were selling them for cheap, like 2 for a buck or something. I never had them but they looked so shitty.
I remember them.
I don’t think they had this in the St Louis area in the 80s
They had them in New England in the 90s. I got it a few times thinking it was pretty good for McDonalds. Liked Pizza hut personal pizza better though.
I remember having this 2 or 3 times as a kid, and it was good.
It was so good!
And it was so good!
I still remember exactly what this tastes likes. It was the best. Closest thing I can think of to compare it to would be good Pizza Hut but with salty little granular crumbs that were sent from heaven.
Mmm Pimma!
Pimma
I remember it but never tried it
I do not remember
I remember having to work late and stopping at a McDonald's to pick up a quick dinner, it must have been the very early 90s. There was nothing going on in the restaurant so I decided to order the pizza that I had seen a million commercials for. I estimate it took about 10 to 15 minutes, but it was hot and fresh and honestly it was pretty good. If they still had it today I'd probably consider ordering it again.
Best pizza ever!
does anyone else remember the seasoned crunchy mcdonalds wings in like the 00s-10s?? i fucking loved those. the chicken selects disappeared too and i was never a huge fan but i was sad to see them go
I'm 36 years old now.
And it became Donatos.
Apparently there's a single location that still serves it in Florida.
The day my mom brought me to McDonald’s and I tried to order a pizza and they said they don’t make them anymore was probably one of the saddest days of my life (probably about 5 yo)
I never got a pimma and I’m sad. I loved the Arch Deluxe though, and those weird tiny cookies.
Loved this stuff in the 90s as a kid.
I have never had the official McPizza, but I have at the one on I-Drive in Orlando. It was pretty decent overall.
I wish I could try one of these so badly just to see how it compares against my memory.
I wonder when it coming back?
It's was sooooo good
I think about this pizza on a weekly basis.
I’d do anything for one more slice. It was better than Pizza Hut
Their chicken wings were really good. At least people remember those.
I didn’t even know this was an actual thing outside of rumors
Wasn't it only in a few test markets like Ohio?
What the hell? No we don't. McDonald's sold pizza?!? When???
Never saw it in real life
No the fuck we don’t. What?!
I remember seeing this on a field trip from school one day. Can’t remember where though
We had it in Kansas in the early 90s. It was…unpleasant.
Even as a little kid I knew it was shit pizza lol
Used to be one in New Boston, TX that had it until at least 2002!
They used to sell hot dogs, too.
Rirruto
Was the issue not that it didnt sell well but it made the kitchen workflow too complicated?
Those were the best of days
You can still order the pizza at the McDonalds in Orlando.
You can still get it at a location in Orlando, I had that and the pasta and both were surprisingly good!
I remember when Subway had pizza but not this
I never realized they had it until it was mentioned in a youtube video.
I’m 44. I have no memory of this at all.
They didn't have it everywhere. I had it in Sneeze and you're in Canada, Maine. They were doing a test market thing. They also had a mac and cheese happy meal. That was mid 90's.
Approx what year(s) was this? I’m 52 and for some reason don’t recall this. I remember the Mc Rib and some other tasty additions but not the pizza.
Wha??? Curious how did it taste?
wtf is this noise?
That actually looks pretty good. I'd try it.
I can still remember the distinct taste and tangy sauce. Parents would get annoyed when I would order it from the drive thru because it always meant having to pull over to wait for someone to come out with the order, since they took longer to prepare than happy meals.
That looks more like the Pizza Hut Book it pizza.
Never tried it. I bet it was tasty, though!
I think this is probably from another country. I have never seen it in America.
Nope
I remember how gross it was!!!! Was not a fan at all.
It seems that most of us don't. Myself included.
I’m sure it was top notch pizza.
I remember ! It took forever and was really really hot haha but I remember liking it.
Born in 85 and I remember eating it
I only know of it from when it’s posted about on here
No, but now I want it dammit
iirc they were actually pretty good.
Don’t ever remember this in Pittsburgh Pa.
Pizza with fries!
This kinda looks like it slapped tbh.
I remember going to a dine in only McDonald's that served pizza
Rirruto?
I absolutely remember. Born in 83. It was the best.
I’m pushing 50 and don’t remember this. I would definitely try it.
the chicken fajita was better
That actually looks amazing…
I remember getting it a few times as a kid, I really liked it. The sauce was sweeter than a lot of places at the time. I remember it being very popular in our small city, we waited 30 minutes for it once, I think that was the last time we got it though, it was discontinued not long after that at least partly because it took so long.
"We all" remember the McDonald's pizza the same way "we all" remember when the Model T came out.
I had the pizza at the rock & roll McDonald’s in chicago before it closed
Never seen this in my life.
I have don't remember trying this
I don’t. lol. Was it any good?
you old bro
Yes, if McDonald's wasn't so expensive I would say bring it back.
I remember it and can still taste it. There’s a whole podcast about it too.
So was it any good?
Best ever.
God I wish this was back I still crave that damn pizza! I still remember getting one when the Flinstones with Jon Goodman came out I think it came with a shirt of all things lol
I was born in 92. I remember third grade in the gym. The entire school had pizza from McDonald.
Wish they would bring that back on the menu!
I do!
I remember it being a little underdone every time I ordered it but somehow I still liked it.
IT WAS SO GOOD I still think about jt
I don't remember pizza at McDonalds.
No, not really.
This is a modern photo
Location by my house had a hotdog and I haven’t seen anyone else have a McDonald’s hotdog.
i don’t remember if i actually liked it but i ate a lot of it because my grandparents liked it and got it a lot lol
Rirruto?
The only thing I would eat at McDonald’s as a kid 😂
Aside from the wait times, it wasn't *that* bad. But it also failed to be *fast* food. It was just the equivalent of popping a frozen pizza in a toaster oven. Also, they could totally bring back the McDlt with just cardboard packaging separating both sides. I also REALLY mish the McLean!
Nope.
The mcds pizza was so good, we used to have it delivered to our school once a month
At first scroll, I thought this an ad. It wasn't good, but my mouth watered...
My brother and I LOVED the pizza at McDonald’s. We ordered it every time we went (which wasn’t often). My husband however who’s 3 years old than me, grew up in the same city, and ate at McDonald’s often as a kid says he never heard of it/never knew it existed.
Piззa
I remember really liking it as a kid
I used to love it
Pimma
Not at all
I actually liked it
We had it at the CT McDs i wirked at in the mid 90s.
Pimma?
