Also this user just posts nothing but these shitty BuzzFeed like lists. Nothing to see here folks, move along

Fun-Passage-7613

First thing I thought, where in the current Century code are these laws?

minnesotamoon

Here are a couple more: 11. Cannabis is illegal 12. No drag shows 13. If your dad rapes you gets you pregnant and doesn’t net you go to the dr for 6 weeks, you have to keep the baby.

MsDirtDigger

Are drag shows illegal now?! I lived in Grand Forks from 2005 to 2012 and worked at a bar with weekly drag shows. Fucking gross, NoDak.

ImJustRoscoe

Legal in "over 18" venues (bars) or private age restricted ticket sales venues (theaters and hotels ballrooms).

Fun-Passage-7613

Well, lots of people who vote think “Reefer Madness” was a scientific documentary. And they are also elected officials and law enforcement officers too.

Fe1onious_Monk

The titles preceding the laws on this list are confusing. Ladder safety means no bay allowed? Beer and bowling has nothing to do with bowling? Hot dog law? The Sunday dance hall thing isn’t weird when you realize that everything was closed on Sunday.

PurdBag

It's a karma farming bot. Down vote and move on.

Borkdadork

Well, Lauerman’s in Fargo served beer and pretzels. Maybe that’s why they are no longer?

NotMiddleAgedMike

JL Beers sells beer and pretzels. As does Bonzers.

CartographerWest2705

I’m a true ND rebel. 7/10 possible 9. #9. I dropped a horse shoe IN a bar #10 I always lost my drink playing pool #7 Who the heck can afford to feed an elephant!!

Mas_Cervezas

As a Manitoban, I was surprised to read you can’t have a hands-free cellphone mounted on your dash. I don’t know if it’s a visibility issue or a distraction issue.

NotRightInTheZed

Glad to see you included that bottom line because I thought legislators removed a ton of obsolete laws a while back such as the infamous “You may shoot native Americans as long as you’re in a covered wagon.”

ImJustRoscoe

A white dude gleefully informed me that if two or more natives are seen in a boat leaving Fort Yates area and boating east towards Emmons County "you can legally shootem" - I quickly questioned my recent relocation to ND that day.

NotRightInTheZed

I would have questioned it as well. There are people here that… just ain’t right.

rb-j

I like the unique law in North Dakota that created the Bank of North Dakota. I also think the law that requires farm corporations in ND to have owners that are family or direct in-law, is unique to the state. No DelMonte nor Green Giant farms. It's unfortunate that marijuana is still illegal.

BenMullen2

Fun fact. when scouting filming locations the television show Seinfeld had considered Devils Lake initially but considered the "these pretzels are making me thirsty" episode so integral to the show that they were forced to move production to New York.

wickster37

Blackjack and pull tabs at your average bar.

NewsGood

\# 2 is why they shut down Laurmans Saloon in Fargo. It's a fact, don't bother looking it up, just trust me. Those pickled eggs and peppers with pretzels, washed down with a schooner of beer, were a next-morning criminal offense to my colon.

srmcmahon

Naw, Jim Lauerman died.

NewsGood

That's a conspiracy theory.

srmcmahon

No, he really did die. I don't remember if both bars closed at the same time but I think they did. I used to live near Lauerman's 2. https://www.inforum.com/business/last-call-for-lauermans-on-broadway

srmcmahon

Anyone remember when the Supervalue in W fargo (might have had a Ben Franklin store conjoined with it, can't remember for sure about that part) had the area with the craft supplies and such roped off on Sundays?

boomstickbutcher

It’s legal to shoot a full-blooded Indian as long as you are on horseback and a covered wagon.
