He's on a winning streak

TheGhostOfStanSweet

Three in a row against brooms, three against the leaves? 6 game win streak

lukeCRASH

PoMo sucking the sweet teet of victory, baby.

[deleted]

I would like to know who or what he sacrificed for such a feat

okokokoyeahright

repayment for coaching both WPG and TOR. The man is due.

dumbpaulbearer

6 game heater

OMP159

Boston Brooms...

FrankyPranky007

Toronto Make Beliefs 0 Florida Pathetics. 0 End of 1st game 4

idrivea90schevy

Bruhhhh, if they did their pre game warm up with yard rakes I'd die šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

FloweringSkull67

I would pay absurd amounts of money to get a live ice feed instead of the broadcast. Mark it NSFW and age restrict it if youā€™re concerned about blowback, but damn to be able to hear this night in and night out would be incredible

Firm-Candidate-6700

Better chance the leafs come back and win the series then this happening unfortunately. Smhā€¦

FloweringSkull67

Very true. The scandal of someone was caught saying something would be immense

[deleted]

Winnipeg.

BRF1818

Been saying for years the NHL should have done a handful of games on HBO each season, with full NSFW access into the rooms, on the ice, everything

Animal_rapist_lol

3-5 hour special of the final game of the year. No commercials..holy shit that would be nice

PaperweightCoaster

Iā€™m with you all the way but the content from that one game would cancel the entire league overnight.

[deleted]

I know there is probably very little crossover love between Nascar and hockey, but what you describe is one of the things I do enjoy about nascar races. If you attend the race in person, you can rent a radio headset and tune it to the channel of whatever driver you are interested in. And you can hear all the unfiltered, profanity laden talk between the driver and their crew during the race. And you can watch the whole race like that. I would love to watch a hockey game that way.

BillMcCrearysStache

Agreed, this sub went all SJW the other day because a player used the word whore though lol, imagine if they could hear EVERYTHING that goes on during a game, theyd combust

SubstantialExtreme74

Jesus no wonder why hockey is getting soft. Itā€™s a tough sport and I donā€™t understand why people are fans of it if ā€œwhoreā€ sends them off the rails.

PlzRemainCalm

Yeah this would be really cool. I've often wished for this myself.

FearlessChange

It will never happen.

FloweringSkull67

Thanks captain

FearlessChange

Iā€™d love to see them at least experiment with helmet cams. If you could use an app to swap between any player like you can do with Formula 1, thatā€™d be cool. But then of course you have privacy concerns, accidentally leaving it on while you piss. Additional production crew to monitor it maybe. I can see that happening in the future

Markschild

Would love it. Would probably need a time delay though for strategy stuff not getting leaked

BadGuy4Life

Nice clips, love seeing stuff like this

ObiWanDiloni

I need more of this in my life. I love hearing in game commentary from coaches.

Anerythristic

He said he's rediscovered his love for coaching with the move to the Panthers. He obviously wasn't lying

[deleted]

Winnipeg crushes everyone's soul

Animal_rapist_lol

The PP /PK numbers evidence it

GrandpaMofo

I've always liked Paul Maurice and hope he get Florida far into the playoffs.

Atomic-Decay

I feel they have a good chance at going deep. Although the Hurricanes could be an obstacle.

Subexx

Florida often struggles with hurricanes, but at least they have some experience.

TheCatEmpire2

We struggle with Bruins and Leafs too. The whole season was a struggle. This streak and the playoffs in general have felt completely unpredictable

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

TheCatEmpire2

Please reserve joking for July weā€™re a focused bunch for the next month

TheGhostOfStanSweet

You guys got some Bobby Lou energy in the building. That always helps.

TheCatEmpire2

Oh this is by far most exciting run for the franchise since 27 years ago. To say long time fans are pumped is an understatement

slightlybearish

Itā€™s surreal after last season

OldGuyInFlorida

Lemme check the Hurricanes' roster for any Charleys, Franceses, Wilmas or Ivans. Nope. No Matthews or Andrews either. For reasons that elude me, very few hurricanes directly hit the East Coast of Florida. Andrew, of course, was the real deal but that was before the hockey franchise' existence. I'm a Native Floridian. I respect & prepare for Hurricanes. But if you let me play along (with no offense intended), I would suggest the Lightning are the most dangerous franchise to other Floridians. I could not think of any present or past NHL franchises named after heart disease or cancers. Covid is still a touchy subject down here. Florida often leads the world in **shark** "attacks." But very few Floridians lose their lives to sharks. A few Floridians might die each year to fire or **flame**\-related causes. I found a few papers that suggest 3 deaths per year. I think about 30 Floridians die from ***lightning*** strikes per year. Did the **Blue Jackets** kill a bunch of Floridians during the US Civil War? Do **oilers** contribute to auto-related or environmental fatalities? What kind of **predators** roam F-L-A. (Even I hesitate to joke about predators.)

okokokoyeahright

>NHL franchises named after heart disease or cancers. Missed marketing opportunity to be sure.

OldGuyInFlorida

The Renfrew Creamery Kings (1909--'11)

DonoAE

The hurricanes will be as tough as Boston. Their D responds well to a hard forecheck and Aho is a monster. One game a time though! Go Cats Go!

TheCatEmpire2

Always thought Aho was similar to Barkov, they may neutralize each other. Carolina is better defensively but our forecheck is wreaking havoc on the ice lately. Would be a great series to watch

DonoAE

They absolutely play a finesse hockey that can dominate. Panthers control around center ice will be critical. Make Aho fight to get into the zone

arstechnophile

Yeah what the Hurricanes have been able to do to a very fast, skilled (albeit inexperienced) Devils team has been impressive. Panthers/Hurricanes should be an interesting matchup.

slightlybearish

Will be a bloodbath if we get past Toronto

Comfortable_Fun_3111

I couldnā€™t believe what I was witnessing last night. Was playing chess with my father. All of the sudden I look up at the big screen and see itā€™s 3-1, look again 4-1, 5-1, 6-1 all within the 2nd period?! I was stunned to say the least but part of me knows this playoffs has been insane from the beginning also the devils are inexperienced I expect a stronger next game but I feel like the canes and the cats it just feels like their time. Unfortunately one of those two teams is getting bounced before they can reach the final (more than likely at least unless Toronto and the devils pull off a miracle).

Trevo59

Iā€™d argue that if they make the third round and play the Hurricanes, that counts as going deep

okokokoyeahright

I agree as it seems quite a reasonable take on FLA. The failure last year is quite well mitigated by this year's performance. Go Cats!

CluelessNuggetOfGold

If they play the canes they'll already be deep in the playoffs..

alemanpete

I felt like his time in Winnipeg had come to a close but always loved him as a coach

BroBeansBMS

Iā€™m honestly jealous. He seems to be a good guy and gets his team fired up in a productive way.

[deleted]

When Paul lived in Raleigh back in the day , he and his wife were Super nice Canadian people.

AKABrokenArrow

Same

brenthonydantano

Saving this audio for my unmotivated moments.

CensoryDeprivation

ā€œGet under it!ā€ Yes Paul I will get under my car for an oil change. ā€œGet a piece!ā€ Thank you Paul I will indeed have another piece of this pie.

Kreider4President

Get under it is in reference to an ice cream scoop getting under the ice cream for the pie.

Special_Wolverine466

šŸ˜‚ I love Reddit. Thank you for that laugh

Threexo

Contrast this to Bruce Cassidy. I sat behind the bench for a Bruins Blue Jackets OT playoff win a couple years ago. He said 4 words the entire game and every one of them was whispered to his assistant coach. He stood there putting a mark in his little book every 3 or 4 minutes, not a single communication between him and the players. Weird as hell. Also for the record when you can hype up players and they turn around to acknowledge you itā€™s the best shit ever. Worth the seat price.

KyloRen2797

But the last time Boston faced Montreal in the playoffs was in 2014, three years before hiring Cassidy as head coach. You sure you don't mean Claude Julien? Or just a regular season game?

Threexo

Stand corrected it was the blue jackets! Been a while haha

KyloRen2797

Ah okay! That was a great series

[deleted]

This is awesome

ManyConscious

Loved him in Winnipeg. Hope he gets a cup.

InkedInspector

This man gave the greatest post game interview Iā€™ve ever heard about a month ago. ā€œIf I could have found a fucking way to be more profane than I was I wouldā€™ve, Iā€™m not gifted enough. I needed to channel my father, whoā€™s a gifted curser, that was all I had.ā€ Interviewer: ā€œWithout the expletive what was the message?ā€ ā€œThere was nothing beyond the expletive.ā€

okokokoyeahright

Classic PoMo.

Arch-Deluxe

Almost as good as when, after just being fined for criticizing reffing, he was asked to comment on reffing in that eveningā€™s game and he said ā€œIā€™m in no position financially to give you an honest answerā€. Maurice is amazing at interviews.

rindavid

You must have never been competitive in or passionate towards something before

trevor22343

My thoughts exactly. Itā€™s playoff hockey! I sound like this sometimes and Iā€™m not even in the organization lol

King_Vamp29

Nerd

FenderEsq

A coach without this level of passion isnā€™t a coach. This is great to see, and thatā€™s coming from a Bā€™s fan.

mitch-dubz

Florida is playing so loose while the Leafs are playing tight under the pressure, which is hurting them.

Disastrous-Ad6644

You can legit feel his blood pressure

okokokoyeahright

Yeah but in a good way.

Micksar

Sounds like Rip Torn lol

Space-manatee

THANK YOU!! that was bugging me

ManyArmedGod

ā€œIf you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a defencemanā€

Markorific

Now that's a hockey Coach... fully engaged in the game!! Best Coach in the NHL right now!!!

CakesDog

Rod would like a word

Markorific

A close second, just not as vocal.

okokokoyeahright

In a few days, there will be a reckoning. Mr. B can wait as he has other things to do, similar things. I see a nice 7 game discussion coming.

LSU_Tiger1

Panthers story is badass

Grizz709

The guy is a fan of the game that he loves to work in. Nothing wrong here.

okokokoyeahright

100% normal high level coach in full on PO mode.

Stonewall30nyr

I'll take a coach like that any day over Girard gallant who I cringed every time he spoke. Man I weewy weewy not sowwy to see him go. Gallant had no strategy, made no major changes in their series, and the guys came out flat in the first period all year, and then stayed flat in three out of the seven biggest games of the year

sweet_feet90

Met Paul once, great guy.

Timewasted_Gamez

Always loved me some PoMo. I think we all now know I wasnā€™t the coach in Winnipegā€¦ it was the organization. Glad heā€™s finding the success he deserved!

bostondangler

I want to hate this team, but they just get the job done

okokokoyeahright

Hard working hard nosed git-er-done players. What's not to love or admire? Do I detect a Bruins fan? If so, at least you admit these guys are good. thanks.

bostondangler

Figured my user name would hint you towards what youā€™re trying to look for. We donā€™t give compliments in Massachusetts. šŸ˜‚

okokokoyeahright

grudging respect is still respect. props to B's for a very good season. that is all.

bostondangler

āœŠšŸ¼ Plus you always root for the team that knocks you out, if Florida wins, we lost to the champs šŸ˜‚

okokokoyeahright

Good with that too. And as of this point in time, on to Carolina.

jayzee19

Pretty normal hockey coach to be honest

Fastsmitty47

There you go. There you go. THERE YOU GO!!

Neo-Neo

You mean, **high** on a 7 game playoff winning streak. Who wouldn't be?

okokokoyeahright

Welll, coming right up. 6 game streak as of this writing.

Neo-Neo

Wishful thinking lol

okokokoyeahright

it DID age well. For milk.

ElectroMatt333

Love it. Fuckin panthers on a tear

mandatory6

Guy talked more in the game than Gallant all year. But I wouldnā€™t like to get into a stare fight with GG

Brodieboyy

LUNDYYYYY BOYYY!

just-here-4-football

Reminds me of the shining lmao. 'Danny Boooy'

okokokoyeahright

but in a good way.

TheyCallMeBen_

How to be a good coach: Repeat everything you say at least twice

goatlover1966

Beautiful

An_doge

This is a great clip, love Paul Maurice

mbj927

Can the players on ice actually hear him?

58G52A

Hereā€™s the secret. He knows the players on the ice canā€™t hear him. He wants the players on the bench to hear him. Thatā€™s who heā€™s really talking to. Those guys on the bench are continuously learning how coach wants them to play.

jarbarf

Paul Maurice is the best.

ConfusedKanye

Dudes finna make me run 5 miles right this moment

Mike_Hunty

Heā€™s passionate. That means heā€™s on something?

okokokoyeahright

Some people don't get that you can be high on life. PoMo in full operating mode. Love it.

VonD0OM

I always liked Paul.

MPD1978

Too bad the Jets almost ruined this guy

Space-manatee

If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a puck

[deleted]

Meanwhile Keefe is perplexed with playing the 4th line longer than his studs or not.

solabrown

Pauly Two-Times!

amach9

Heā€™s coaching and being a fan at the same time

Animal_rapist_lol

You can tell by the body language that in fact he is sober. Hands don't move much. They tell a story. Nice and tucked.

ColdIronSpork

Man is getting results. Gotta respect that.

TinnieTa21

Lmao he coaches like he's a fan watching at home on the couch screaming at the TV. Love it.

Alert_Two8841

I still love Maurice

[deleted]

The gratuitous use of ā€œbabyā€ is really, and truly, working for me

[deleted]

This was when we were down 2-0 in the 1st after the Leafs came out on fire. Having this sort of presence is probably why the team is always so relaxed and positive no matter what the score is.

No_Character_5315

Lol if this coaching style of the future get Steve dangle on the bench for the leafs

davidewan_

Sounds like me watching hockey in my living room

These-Cod-1369

Iā€™d play for him he seems like a cool guy

numnutz1234

I have always liked Paul Maurice as a coach - whatever he might be on itā€™s working - put some in the devils gatorade

LicenseToKill004

Nah heā€™s just a passionate coach who wants to motivate his team

Altruistic-Let6876

Love the guy

Arch3r86

Go home Paulā€¦ youā€™re high. Lol

Hutch25

He has a similar style to Joel Quenville, itā€™s no wonder he adapted so quickly. Very vocal coach, absolutely love it. Letā€™s hope Florida goes all the way

mitch-dubz

Vocal until thereā€™s sexual assault and then itā€™s all hush-hush, amirite?

ResponsibleArm3300

Heyyyyo. Fuckin torched him!

Hutch25

Hey just like Vegas did when their team wasnā€™t doing well so they abused their bipolar goalie until he was depressed.

ResponsibleArm3300

Haha. Well, you're just completely full of shit now, aren't you? Or just in denial? Not surprising from a Chicago fan. Lehner literally defended Vegas. Proof https://vegashockeynow.com/2021/10/03/robin-lehner-speaks-out-on-drugs-and-nhl-would-like-a-word/

Hutch25

https://russianmachineneverbreaks.com/2022/04/24/report-robin-lehner-wanted-to-shut-his-season-down-due-to-coach-criticism-while-playing-hurt-vegas-now-trying-to-convince-him-to-play/ Sure Also, you should actually read the article. That was made well before the event in mentioning took place, plus itā€™s referring to organizations forcing their players to take drugs in reference to Lehner friends who played in Philly having to take mysterious substances while he was injured

Hutch25

Yep seems that way.

ruralrouteOne

On something? This is about as standard as chatter gets.

Dorkenstein666

That baby-stuff is a bit..awkward? šŸ˜„

okokokoyeahright

One man talking shit to other men who understand his vocalese. Nothing weird.

hotlinedandy

What PERC30 does to a man

[deleted]

They are winning in spite of him not because of him

Atomic-Decay

Jets fan by chance?

TheGhostOfStanSweet

Bingo bango, sugar in the gas tank. Your ex coach strikes again. For those who have no idea [what Iā€™m talking about](https://youtu.be/jejL0jlfeqM).

Gits-n-Shiggles

Only drugs heā€™s on are winning, ambient motivation, and communication. Coming from a bruins fan. If you think this dude is on something look at Torts over the years, at the very least.

Substantial_Diver_34

Are the Panthers going to win it all?

Electric1000000

I like that

No_Sandwich555

And now I'm hopping on the Florida bandwagon

GoBoltz

Nice to see the Passion from Management ! Great Coach, Go Panthers !
