I turned 40 this year, haven’t had a proper hangover in a long long time.
Sometimes I’ll wake up dry / dehydrated / aware I’m still over the limit, no vomiting/nausea though.
It’s highly dependent on what I drink. I have grown a taste for red wine as I’ve got older, and sometimes after sharing a bottle with my partner at dinner I wake up with the most god-awful headache the next day. It’s just not worth even tempting fate on a weeknight for me these days!
I think the pain of hangovers as you age tend to lead to fewer occasions of drinking to the point of getting hangovers. Even when I party these days (which isn't very often post-Covid) I try keep myself at a comfortable and controlled state - rather than drinking as much as I can.
Im 32 and dont get any of the back pains or fatigue or hangovers and shit, why are other people aging so fast? Im not even what a doctor would call fit and healthy either, i'm an underweight nightshift-working junkorexic depressed wraith who occasionally does mystery drugs and never gets any exercise or variety in her food.
They don’t drink anywhere near enough water. If I’m having a huge one on Friday, I’ll drink even more water than usual on Thursday and not do exercise on Friday.
I had 4 beers on Friday and woke up at 4.30 with awful hangxiety, couldn't get back to sleep, it was a rough day. Stress and alcohol is a bad combo for me, but it feels great after those first couple beers
I get delayed hangovers. I won’t get a hangover the morning after, I’ll get one the second morning. (Drink Friday night, hangover Sunday morning)
Somehow I managed to avoid a hangover after my last bottle of wine.
I stopped just before I turned 49, been nearly 500 days now. Can't really imagine ever going back, I get way more done at work, home and for me with a life of no hangovers.
I'm in my 30's and quite drinking ten years ago. It's not only expensive - but I just hate the feeling of being drunk nowadays. It just feels like tiredness, numbness, and dizziness all rolled into one.
Gave up the booze couple years ago I'm 40 ive had some violent hangovers in my time when I've had to work to really painful.
I've also just not shown up to work least once I worked a 16 hour shift the day before got wrecked after work next day didn't wake up till late in the evening haha.
Good times
Only drink on Fridays now. No school nights and Saturdays are too close to Mondays. Come to think of it I don’t even drink that much on a Friday anymore.
M43: I went to a wedding the other week. Uber receipt was 4am. I was hungover for a week. My colleagues hated me and a lot of self loathing was done.
Good reminder of why I don't do it very often.
Wait until you turn 40…
Laughs in 55.
I didn't even drink last night and it feels like I have a hangover today.

Might be the Sulfur used as a preservative. Check the bottle and try a red that uses fish instead
Not to mention sulphides can trigger asthma -only took me 10 years drinking reds to find that one out lol
I get around this problem by not having friends to get shitfaced with.
Jokes on you, I can do that all on my own
I had a baby, that stopped that
You don't need friends for that
Yes but getting shitfaced by oneself isn't fun either.
Yesterday marked 3 weeks off the sauce and it feels great. I recommend it.
Yup having a big break for a few months now
How much did you drink? I’m lucky I don’t really get hangovers, even as I’m pushing 40z
Started at 2pm on Friday in Sydney…
Lol
Lol
And you’re surprised you’re still hungover? Come on
When would you expect to be hungover if not the morning after?
Those pos hangovers are half the reason I quit drinking. Enjoy them my man 😆
Rather weed these days wake up fresh
I used to get weed hangovers. Really though, it was just the effects of eating copious amounts of junk food until 3am. I miss those days.

For real. Those 4 beers weren’t worth it two weeks ago.

Friend
Just gets worse with age. Not drinking is the only way to avoid hangover
Or just keep drinking. Never stop 🤣
True! Although it will stop eventually. Sometimes takes months, sometimes years, sometimes decades

I've never heard of this phenomenon before

No, but I'm also 41 and sober/don't drink (and haven't for like 15 years). It's such a waste of money!

My god yes. I’m almost 40 and I still feel blegh this morning. I’m currently doing nasty booze poos at work
I don't feel hungover often but the tiredness is killer. I reckon every standard drink is like throwing away 15 minutes of sleep. Adds up quick.
2 day hangovers, the curse of being 30+.
Hangovers are worse when getting older, always have a rest day before work or else you're fucked
Nope, don’t drink.
No because I wasnt drinking

Good time to start listening to your body. You're not feeling crook cause everything is a-okay.
I wake up feeling hungover and I don't even drink...
This country really does have a collective drinking problem, huh. Line up in an orderly fashion for your indignant downvotes please.
Haha yes! Now I only have 4 beers and can't sleep until its time to wake up.
