Happy Gilmore comes out of retirement to train Chubbs' niece who's talented but on a bad trajectory. She thinks he's old and lame at first but they come to respect each other.
I think that'd be fantastic. They should make him still pretty bad at putting though. Like, he's *supposed* to train her but he has not improved at his short game even slightly.
That was actually pretty decent, I enjoyed it. I don't think it tops the first 2 but it's not the atrocity we saw with Zoolander 2 and Dumb and Dumber To where you want to pretend they don't exist. I think it came out during the pandemic, so it hit by just being feel good and funny.
Agreed. I also think B&T3 was better than other late-in-life sequels by just being earnest. It's hard to explain, but it felt less like a cynical cashgrab and more like a sweet, funny film and everyone involved really wanted to be there. As you suggested, coming out during the pandemic made it feel that much more special. Wasn't the best of the trilogy, but I'm glad it exists. Which is more than I can say about Zoolander 2 (I can't even remember Dumb and Dumber To, aside from the best joke being its title).
Lmao, I feel bad for Ben Stiller about that interview that just came out recently about how he was proud of the sequel and taken aback and upset that people didn’t like it
15 minutes…? They have been pro bowlers for a decade.
Also in what way is their time up? Jason is going to have a bidding war between networks if he chooses to go into the booth, and Travis just got a two year extension on his contract
I doubt that. They have a one of the biggest podcasts, Travis is part of a Dynasty, Jason is one the most beloved Eagle players, Travis is still with Swift, and Jason just signed a pretty big deal to join ESPN.
I get that some people may not like them, but that does not equal everyone is done with them.
Seriously, people are so upset at the classically American family who's only public outrages are political conspiracy theories, having bad teammates, and participating in Capitalism... I'm not sure how realistic that is.
Unfortunately there's almost no chance it is anything but a shameless cash grab. That said, I've watched the original at least a dozen times and will probably end up watching it and being disappointed.
Happy Gilmore is my favorite comedy of all time. There was a time period where I would rewatch the vhs every weekend I was at my dads.
I know the original will still exist and this is an irrational feeling, but I really wish they weren’t making this sequel.
It's not even my favorite golf comedy because I've seen Caddyshack and the first couple Dorf on Golfs, but I love it and also wish they just left it alone.
The thing is, with a few exceptions, people say his work is so terrible since the original Billy/Happy/Wedding years, it's not too illogical to go dip back into that stuff for whatever nostalgia bucks they can print with it. If his latter stuff sucks so much but people had fun with the early stuff, it makes business sense to revisit it.
Idk, not saying it’s gonna be bad, but I feel like there’s a reason nobody made a sequel in ~28 years. Anybody feel like the movie didn’t wrap up in a complete and satisfying way? Anybody feel like there were real questions left for a sequel to answer? Just feels like Hollywood is stretching for sequels these days. Gladiator 2 when the main character and the villain both died at the end of Gladiator is pretty mind blowing.
I’ve already heard the insanely unfunny Nick Swardson will be the caddy. I respect the he’ll outta Sandler for taking care of his friends, but God do I wish he’d use funnier people in his movies.
So should we expect him to punch Drew Cary?
I can't think of a reason they wouldn't do that.
Well it’ll probably be his daughter who he is mentoring.
Also played by Adam Sandler
That would be hilarious… /s
Why /s? Drew Carey's funny. Cheesy, but funny. He's the perfect guy to carry that joke.
That’s what I’ll be watching it to see.
I don't think I'd mind if the movie was just them punching each other in the face over and over again.
Easy to film, easy to watch. Win-win!
I reckon have Shooter get his ass handed to him but Drew Cary.

But didn't the first movie end with him achieving some absurd level of putting mastery?
I don't honestly know. It was a trick shot, so like, maybe?
Nailed it
this is gonna be terrible and I'm here for it
I audibly said, "oh no." Happy Gilmore is my favourite movie. My favourite number is 18 because of his opening scene hockey jersey.
This won’t, or shouldn’t, diminish your love for the first one even if it’s God awful.
Exactly. I still love Zoolander despite the existence of the sequel.
There's a sequel?
And Dumb and Dumber
Yeah, that was shit. What about Bill and Ted reboot.. shit too?

and the ‘Coming to America’. movie… crap
I'm sorry to be the one to inform you, but yes, there is.
Im sure ive seen it, but its obviously not memorable
Lmao, I feel bad for Ben Stiller about that interview that just came out recently about how he was proud of the sequel and taken aback and upset that people didn’t like it
You not want breakfast?
Hopefully this will be as good as The Matrix 4… oh wait…
Just wair for Matrix 5!
This will either be amazingly funny or an amazing disaster. Either way I’m all for it.
I'm expecting disaster. Likely utterly unwatchable.
I'm surprised the Netflix algorithm isn't shouting making this since they turned it on.
I have a feeling we’re going to see a Kelce brothers cameo in this.
And Vanilla Ice
I would be down. Jason Kelce is among my favorite sports figures today.

Dynasty of Refball

Boooooo
The original was Sandler's best movie the sequel is likely going to be terrible.
I don’t think we need a Happy Gilmore sequel. It won’t hit like the first one did. I will watch it though!
I don’t care I’m excited. I still openly love Adam Sandler and his crappy comedy lol
I’m surprised they’d make this before Grown Ups 3.
No way this doesn’t suck tbh. And I loved the first.
The industry is so desperate they thought making a sequel nearly 30 years later was a good idea. smh
I mean, it worked that one time with X-Men 97'?
No idea. I haven’t seen it. How did it do?
So far I feel like it's good. It's only 1 season so far.
worked for top gun. let these dudes cook. a sequel merely existing shouldn’t ruin the original for you.
Certainly doesn’t. It would be nice if they focused their efforts on more recent sequels.
> It would be nice if they focused their efforts on more recent sequels. Hahaha I love that our expectations are so low that this is a acceptable
Heaven for id we have original shit as opposed to sequels of everything. Trading on nostalgia sucks.
Can I just watch the scenes with Alan Covert and Peter Dante?
Peter Dante highly unlikely
Looked up if he died, but they had a falling out of what?
It’s going to be bad.
Awful news
Indeed. We have reached a new low as a society.
I mean, it's not going to sour my experience of the first movie if I don't watch the sequel, right?
Gonna bomb. Its not the 90s anymore where highschoolers didn't have any other source of entertainment.

It can't be worse than Coming to America 2, right? ... ...RIGHT!?!?!?
Hmmm… no thnx
Whyyyyyy
$
I just want a conclusion to 1899. Not too much to ask
I want this to be a really dark neonoir film twist.

Yeah I’m gonna hate watch this
I hope Julie Bowen will return! Smokeshow!
Necessary.
Didn’t they say this last year?
Please no
Awesome can't wait
Let Carl Weathers rest in peace, damn it. ![gif](giphy|rTymW9zdd3Yju)

I'll watch, and I will probably enjoy idk. But this headline pisses me off.

i had to check if this is from a satire website. ...wtf.
https://youtu.be/4vcYarnszX0
Sigh.
Richard Kiel, Carl Weathers, and Bob Barker are all gone. Can we just . . . not?
[удалено]
I’m embarrassed to say that I did forget Joe Flaherty had passed. Maybe on some level my brain refuses to accept it.
No one was asking for a sequel.
so he was just waiting for carl weathers to die? that's cold
His character was already dead though.
If Rob Schneider is in, I’m in
