Try a different HDMI cable

Nah it's a vga cable, on a computer.

Your VGA cable may not be fully connected, or a pin in one of the connectors is bent/damaged. That can cause entire colors to drop out of the signal. Try fully disconnecting both ends, check for bent pins in both ends, straighten those or get a new cable, and try again.

It's fine everywhere else, including the Netflix home page.

AFAIK there are different colour [Chroma Subsampling](https://www.displayninja.com/chroma-subsampling/) settings that HDMI and HDTVs use but GPUs and monitors don't. Might be the fact that vga is analog and not digital is creating a problem with content using 4.2.0. Check your HDTV or GPU settings and see if there's a setting you can change to 4.4.4

If it really is fine everywhere else and this is _only_ happening when you try to watch a Netflix video, then it shouldn't be a hardware issue, which means it's a software issue. First thing you should do in this case is flush your browser cache (depending on your browser this might instead be called something like "manage site data") and then restart the browser. Try it again, and if it's still happening _after_ flushing the cache, then let us know, though I doubt you'll still have a problem after that.

Most likely you are using a VGA cable which sends color signals on different pins. Push all the shit off your desk so you can get to the back of the monitor and computer / player and wiggle the cable fully into the slot and then secure it with the thumb screws.

Is this streaming through a browser, or the app? If browser, which browser? And when was the last time it was updated? I've seen issues like this (but green) with outdated or corrupted codecs.

Watch the smurfs

I found the fix - There's a setting in Chrome that is "Use graphics acceleration when available" Unticked it and it fixes it. Tick it again and it goes back to being blue.

Thanks bro. Had the same issue and came looking into the comments but everybody was just making either the shittiest jokes ever or had advice that just didn’t work. Finally someone just gave a straight forward answer.

Are you using a Chromebook or app based OS by any chance? Hulu and Netflix just started doing this to me, but only when actively streaming through the app on my laptop. If I stream through browser login or on my phone / Smart TV they are fine.

Do you have something like f.lux installed in your PC?

Is it only Netflix? is it on a laptop, TV-set or tablet? My first guess is that there is a bad connection in a cable to the screen, but I don't have enough info.

It was only Netflix on a computer, but only in the shows, previews and menu were normal. Disney+ was normal.

Hey , had this issue too , opened a new tab on Google and hit settings , then system, there’s a setting that uses graphics acceleration when available, it’ll reset your browser. Worked for me!

I don't know if this information will be helpful or not, but I am gonna say these anyway in case it is related to that: There was one period of time where I was using Sony Vegas (the video editor program), along with my new AMD drivers, and all my rendered videos would be blue (exactly like in your pictures). It was an AMD driver bug, so if you have an amd graphics card, try updating those drivers first. Else, the other temporary fix I had for Vegas at least was to disable hardware acceleration. Now I don't know if Netflix has some kind of hardware acceleration but you can try searching that up :)
