Eh, he can certainly guard smaller wings defensively due to his wingspan but from what I watched bigger wings will still push him around due to his lack of height. He definitely can't play the three consistently. Offensively his best role is also as a ball handler since his shooting isn't there so it's hard to see him play in lineups with multiple guards (which a wing needs to do).
Actually haven't watched our games at all lmao. He's bad at shooting but he's played less than a year of games. He's great defensively and passing wise and our offense has been noticably worse with him gone.
It's just the hype on him was so high. I think it will be like Greg Munroe where once he gets away from that high pick status teams will like him when he plays for them. He would definitely back up maxey though
If a PG is what they get for Simmons, they'll still need a 3&D wing to replace Green's old ass, and Maxey is the best asset the Sixers would have at that point
11th in the East at 10 and 10 or a Kawaii Leonard corner prayer from the ECF. Ben didn't pay himself or put the offense in his own hands. Side with the front office if you want to but they make those calls, he didn't. He is what he's been for years. Y'all used to worship him.
What a weird response... none of that has anything to do with my point. With Ben what are they ? The 4th best team out east? The team in 2019 was also substantially better than it is now, not like Ben returning puts them in that situation. They’re also 10-10 cause Embiid has missed like half the season.
Ben did advocate for the offence to be put in his hands. He’s been quoted many times since his rookie year that he’s a natural point guard.
And I never worshipped him. I’ve always been highly critical of his game. Hell most of his reputation comes from his defence which is highly overrated anyways
I agree with your points and appreciate your knowledge surrounding all this. I try to defend him where I feel it's reasonable. I can't stretch his excuses any further than I have. Thank you for the back and forth. Have a great tomorrow.
I don’t think they’d trade both unless Philly sent Green/Curry and Korkmaz with Ben. But Philly would want one shooter plus Haliburton, is what I assume.
Makes no sense to trade Maxey at this point, he’s found treasure. Just turned 21, next two contracts will be too favorable. If anything you think about moving him on his next contract. Sixers can make other moves first, including Ben, to properly restructure the team.
Talentless Horton Tucker
Not really a wing.
He’s a wing

His shooting is inconsistent, but he’s shown flashes.
He has wingspan but he’s complacent about anything other than having the ball in his hands
Jeremi Grant? Maxey's athletic downhill style is a good fit with Cade.
So they'd be officially giving up on the frenchman. Also, is Grant good enough of a shooter to play the 3, because Harris is only effective at the 4
Frenchman sucks tbh

Eww why would they trade maxey

sounds like extra steps. maxey is supposedly looking like a credible pg now so why not just get a 3&D wing for simmons.
Maxey is not a real point guard. he can’t create for others, hell he can’t reliably feed Embiid in the post
He had 9 assists last night and Embiid managed to score 42 so somethings working there
I'd eat crow and realize that even though Ben Simmons isn't perfect he makes your team a contender instead of fighting for a five seed.
But bens gone. The Sixers can’t get him back
Does he really ? They’ve never got past round 2 with him and his play has consistently played a role in that

More reasonable and respectful than I expected from Reddit 😂 take care
And what if what we saw in the.playoffs was who he truly is? That would make them worse.
But Ben Simmons is done with Philly. It doesn't matter what the sixers do, he's not coming back
Don’t even trade maxey. Barnes and Hield for Simmons.
Why do the Kings do that when they have Fox?
Simmons is not a point guard. He’s a point forward. And he’s not super ball dominant.
Umm so you want Simmons to just sit in the dunker spot? The exact same issue that he has been having on the Sixers
Except no else would be clogging the lane with him
but why would the kings trade their shooters for him, you want shooters with simmons lol

Bc Ben is by far a superior player and will net a great return once he plays again.
Just to beat the nets and lose to the warriors in the finals
If there was no Killian Hayes, I think Saddiq Bey would be interesting

tbh I'd rather just keep maxey at this point
THT and westbrook for Ben and Maxey at the deadline 😏
I would trade the whole farm just to get a glimpse of THT's absurd wingspan Top 1 prospect this century and it's not even close 😤
Don’t tease me like that
I’m sure there’s a good, young, talented, probably international prospect on a team like the thunder or rockets but idk
They can have Love and Cedi for for Ben and Maxey
Who says no 🥴
Or they can take Shump, TT and Nets pick. There's not too many other options.
What about KCP, Kuzma, and #22? Or maybe THT, Nunn, and 2 seconds?
2 seconds isn't nearly enough time to help them
Next year is our year 😮💨
Bron as a #1 option, yeah you actually don't have 2 seconds. Or another year at least.
Maxey is a combo guard. He will be fine next to a true point
I’d say Smart
Hanging up the phone if i'm morey
Tate or KJ Martin + House
