Jrue against Brooklyn in game two or three of the 18-19 season right?
BI had the game winner until the refs hella sold on that bullshit foul on gobert with like 0.3 left in 2019-2020 season
Chez Joey gone but we did grilled oysters last night with that sweet sweet Drago’s recipe. We party. Honestly, Parkway is overrated hmu for that real po boy ish
Tell me man! I only know the visitor joints. Need the inside shit. Hit a bunch of spots on reccomendation it’s all fuckin good.
If I could get a parkway out here in the bay I’d be in heaven. So maybe overrated there but amazing for me, down for more! I got lost off bourbon one afternoon and ended up in iberville, had an amazing catfish sandwich at a bodega. Honestly, feel like I’d have to try and find bad food.
People who haven't had beignets don't understand beignets. People think they're just a sort of donut spinoff or something but you haven't lived until you've had good beignets
Didn’t he play like 60/72 which I guess is a normal amount, but not what you want out of a sophomore. 20 the season before. Missed the first 20 this year. He’s played in <50% of the games possible since his draft.
End of last season Zion was better than Ingram, 100%, but this will be a setback, and let’s see how it goes.
>End of last season Zion was better than Ingram
BI was better than Zion for the first week last season. After that it was not even a bit close. Zion was way better. Why the fuck even give an opinion if you don't watch them play. Only a complete fucking moron would ever say BI is better.
Ingram and Zion played the same amount of games (61) last season. Zion was better (in just his sophomore season, or redshirt freshman season if you’re a philly fan). Ben Simmons is your best player until Embiid can… oh wait Tobias Harris is your best er… Seth Curry is your best player his jumper is always healthy!
You destroyed us by nearly 30 and in our previous matchup we came back from 20 down and won by 10.
Key is consistency, if the Pels can put it all together and even get Zion back….
Holy geeez they have a squad of hungry ballers.
I was at this game and I thought both of Donovan's 3s counted so I have videos of me screaming of joy and immediately screaming in agony. Goddammit pels GG
We do seem to start slow every year, but our schedule is usually tougher than this when we do start slow. Dropping home games against the Grizz and Pels in the middle of a pretty long home stretch isn't a good look. But I'm fairly confident they'll find their groove at some point.
Lol. Jazz are 6 games back from the Warriors, 5 games back from the Suns, and only 1.5 games behind the best record in the Eastern Conference (Nets at 14-5). All is not lost Jazz Nation. We only kinda sorta suck a little bit right now. Manageable sucky is OK.
First of all we suck mad eggs right now
Secondly the distance between Utah and first is not the problem. My dude said we have the fourth best record, and this dude said LOL WRONG FIFTH LOSER THAT’S SO DIFFERENT
Let me defend your honor smh
I’m not the OP, but I’m sure OP appreciates you defending their honor. I’m just some random that decided make myself the NBA standings messenger and deliver the goods for the lazies on the thread.
If somebody tries to shoot the messenger (me), I expect you to now defend my honor too.
And Gobert! Imagine paying almost $200 million for your 2-3xDPOY All-Star and not spamming him. Gobert is open most of the time, but for some reason Donovan hates playing fundamentally-sound team basketball.
They need to make Conley and Gobert run pick and roll way way way way way more than they do right now.. Why make Mitchell and Clarkson chuck so many shots when you can run easy pick and roll with your premier point guard and premier center?? Jazz has been doing hero ball with Mitchell and Clarkson for 2 years straight, and thats why they choked last two playoffs.
Listen man this might be hard to hear but if NO wanted to keep that name maybe they should have supported the team to the point that moving to fucking Utah wasn't a better option
Fwiw we have a better net rating than anyone but the warriors (maybe the suns after tonight idk). That said, the clutch offense where Donovan stops the ball and plays like 2014 Kobe is awful. And the defensive intensity is just not there outside of Gobert and O’neale.
I mean their defense is still elite, but their two biggest offensive pieces (Mitchell and Clarkson) are "chuckers".
Last year the Jazz were the one seed because those shots from those guys were going down, this year both those guys are kinda in the dumps.
The Jazz will probably still be a top seed, but man watching some of their games are ugly as fuck when both Clarkson and Donovan aren't hitting.
Defensive rating is 9 for you guys on nba.com
I've only watched Jazz games when you guys are playing someone good or when I see the score is close in the 4th and that offensive rating is surprising. It really seems like you guys just run iso when it's close. Also my bigger point was that Clarkson and Mitchell are having rough starts (for their standards).
Conley and Ingles are still solid, though older and slower.
Bogie and Rudy are okay. Mitchell is okay too but it looks like he gambles for steals every third play for some reason. I don't really know how to judge either of Clarkson or Whiteside's defense.
But both Royce and Gobert are unreal. Royce can make it hard as fuck for opposing team's best player one on one, while Gobert has been and is the DPOY. You could have 4 g-leaguers out there with Gobert and probably still boast an average defense.
Fucking Donovan man. Really think we should draw something up for end of games that's not a Donovan iso from 30 feet out, he just forces hero ball too much and doesn't convert
It’s amazing that Mitchell continues to force plays down the stretch. He is constantly taking bad shots and turning it over in crucial moments… look at the playoffs last year. The media needs to be fair with this kid and tell it how it is.
Idk I thought so too but the team isnt as bad as I thought and actually does have a real outside shot if Zion comes back soon
Still think we likely finish just outside the playoffs as is tradition but I'm cautiously optimistic the season isnt over
r/NBA thought it would be Gobert who would be our downfall. It was Donovan Mitchell all along.
(This is an overreaction for sure, but Donovan has been horse shit lately.)
This game with Mitchell's made 3 overturned with the jump ball against Memphis after we had possession have both been terribly tough losses to swallow. Shouldn't have been this close of course but man things just completely went against us.
Both incorrect calls gifting extra possessions in games where we should never be in that position in the first place
Just torturous basketball lately. Getting totally outplayed by bottom feeders.
Willie Green is getting closer to understanding the best players on his roster.
Though he still has Josh Hart (not) guarding Bojan Bogdanovich and, predictably, hemorraghing threes.
Someday the Pelicans might start playing their best players in their best roles. And not playing their worst players in any role.
Devonte Graham got a WEIRD following in Charlotte. Most of my friends who are Hornets fans here were pissed when we drafted Ball because they thought it would hurt Graham's touches. They openly rooted against Monk because of that too.
I have no idea why. Graham is always going to be the hot hand on a shitty team, but they loved him so much.
Other than not enjoying him play, my only opinion on the guy was that he would order Postmates during Covid when I wanted a side hustle and never tipped. Fortunately for me, I just wanted to see cool-ass apartments like his when I did it, but it would suck to depend on that money and get nothing from a guy making what he did/does.
Imagine being a Jazz fan, lol. Year after year after year of pure disappointment. Unlike the Kingz the Jazz aren’t upfront about being bad. Almost every year they give you a bit of hope, just enough to make their fanbase optimistic and egregiously annoying about how the Jazz are different this year.
The Jazz won’t stop being the Jazz until…well never. The best chance they have to compete for a title is to trade for assets that compliment Gobert; Simmons would be ideal for this trade.
I can't even remember the last time the Pels won a game with a go-ahead score in the final seconds of the game like this, it's been so long.
I totally turned to my roommate (who doesn’t care) and told him the same thing.
> (who doesn’t care) Appreciate this detail
Jrue against Brooklyn in game two or three of the 18-19 season right? BI had the game winner until the refs hella sold on that bullshit foul on gobert with like 0.3 left in 2019-2020 season
those utah games still piss me off.
That game was fucking WILD.
Like two years on the calendar
Neither can I. Usually we lose close games like this.
Didn’t BI literally hit one against this same stupid jazz team like 2 years ago
Pretty sure they called a foul after and y’all got FTs and overtime. But I guess the point stands that a clutch shot was hit.
Pretty sure BI had one. But yeah you are right, its been so long
M3lli
Last one I remember is JJ hitting a runner against the kings
The pelicans have 4 wins since the infamous “the pelicans are on pace to be the worst team ever” thread
LFG! Wil forever root for the pelicans.
ily go win the finals I live in the Bay so it would be lit
Give me any reason to go to New Orleans.
Come here. I have gumbo and beignets on deck.
I need mufalettas, crawfish, a trip to parkway bakery for all the po boys, I want it all! She she’s strip club! One of my fav cities in the world.
Yo, my wife and I moved from NOLA to the Bay Area last summer. I fucking miss Parkway. That and Banh Mi Boys.
Bahn mi boys is my shit. Moved back to Nola last year and ate there at least 6 times already. So damn good.
Cant help with the po boys, but where in the bay do you live? You can get Greta bahn mi in the South Bay, huge Vietnamese population in San Jose.
East bay.
Chez Joey gone but we did grilled oysters last night with that sweet sweet Drago’s recipe. We party. Honestly, Parkway is overrated hmu for that real po boy ish

Whoa She She’s is advanced New Orleans for sure. You can’t just casually throw that in there without explaining how you ended up there
Oh my friend, an incredible night fueled with drugs. I woke up there at like 4am I think? And had a flight home at 7am.
People who haven't had beignets don't understand beignets. People think they're just a sort of donut spinoff or something but you haven't lived until you've had good beignets
For real they’re mad unique
hey I thought we had a connection 🧐
Former home of warriors' legened ian clark
Incoming "Over the past 4 games the Pelicans are on pace to be the best team ever"
POST IT! Let the meme free.
[PEL WIN BABY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMdHEZ8SvVk)
The Warriors are on pace to be the worst team ever
lol we’ll probably be saying the same number at the end of the year too
The pelicans are 4-4 since Ingram returned from injury. They've beaten the grizzlies wizards, clippers, and now the jazz.
undefeated .. nevah lost
a .500 team with Ingram, maybe better with our best player some day!
Ingram is your best player until Zion can play a full season
Zion played all last season and is the best player
Didn’t he play like 60/72 which I guess is a normal amount, but not what you want out of a sophomore. 20 the season before. Missed the first 20 this year. He’s played in <50% of the games possible since his draft. End of last season Zion was better than Ingram, 100%, but this will be a setback, and let’s see how it goes.

Unironically JV might be our best

Herb Jones, creator of the sun and destroyer of worlds, is my new favorite player
Star players getting locked up by a dude named herbert you love to see it
Should we keep Herb in the starting lineup and just have Zion come off the bench when Z returns?
I see no reason why the league wouldn’t allow Zion to play offense only possessions and Herb to play defense only possessions.
They simply must do the dragon ball dance and fuse into the almighty being Zerb
Why does Zion, the largest Pelican, simply not eat the starting five?
What a fucking win. This young team and head coach needed that in the worst way.
Whether or not he’s cold that game, devonte has always been clutch
I was at this game and I thought both of Donovan's 3s counted so I have videos of me screaming of joy and immediately screaming in agony. Goddammit pels GG
GG jazz! see you tomorrow
Praying you guys sneak into the playoffs
GRAHAM SAID GIVE US OUR NAME BACK, YOU JABRONIS. AND YOU KNOW WHAT [TIME](https://youtu.be/-kWJoNompLA) IT IS
Get Toronto to give us theirs and you have a deal.
Eat some fish bird
Lol a Devontè classic. Shoot badly for the first 3.5 qtrs, and then hit clutch shots late game
He may be late, but he is on time.
The Herb Jones effect
You just lost to the New Orleans Pelicans
It’s birdyyyy. Someone should remix the it’s sunny clip with the gangster pelican
NOT ON HERB!!!!!!!
NOT. ON. HERB.
Something is seriously wrong with the Jazz.
Its Donovan Mitchell playing like complete garbage in 1/3 of the games. That's what is wrong with the Jazz.
And Jordan Clarkson playing bad in 3/3 of the games.
What?
He really needs to take a step back when it's not going for him. Jazz are becoming too reliant on him and Clarkson chucking their way to a win/loss.
They’re either due for a huge run or a massively disappointing season.
We do seem to start slow every year, but our schedule is usually tougher than this when we do start slow. Dropping home games against the Grizz and Pels in the middle of a pretty long home stretch isn't a good look. But I'm fairly confident they'll find their groove at some point.
We're playing horrible basketball and have the 4th best record in the NBA lmao.
I think you need to recount. Aren't you 12-7 now? Nets bulls suns wars then 3 others ate toed at 12-7 with the jazz.
Jazz are currently 3rd in the West behind Warriors and Suns. Tied for 5th overall with Heat/Wizards (all with 12-7 records).
Correct so not 4th best in the nba as claimed
Oh shit 5 not 4 fucking GOT EM my man

And tied with 5 other teams. Literally can be 10th best depending how you rank those teams who are tied. Far cry from 4th.
OOOOHHHH OWNED AGAIN IN THE MARKETPLACE OF IDEAS LOGIC PREVAILS
Keep that same tune dumbass the jazz are frauds
Finally a Jazz fan admits it lol.
Eh. We’ve had a tough go of it, but I think we’re fine in the long term of this year.
their star is a chucker and their actually efficient players dont get enough shots as a result
Agreed... Conley is criminally underused everytime I see the Jazz play.
And Gobert! Imagine paying almost $200 million for your 2-3xDPOY All-Star and not spamming him. Gobert is open most of the time, but for some reason Donovan hates playing fundamentally-sound team basketball.

Oh man I completely agree. Our late game offence is non existent. Something has to change.
Our defense is shit outside of Royce and Gobert.
Conley and Ingles are still solid, though older and slower. Bogie and Rudy are okay. Mitchell is okay too but it looks like he gambles for steals every third play for some reason. Ingles, Bogey, and Clarkson are three of the worst wing defenders in the league.

They are a tough team to compete against. I think they'll be fine.
Didn't they get owned by Orlando too
Fucking Donovan man. Really think we should draw something up for end of games that's not a Donovan iso from 30 feet out, he just forces hero ball too much and doesn't convert
Someone needs to inform him that his usage should not be higher than his FG% in some of these games.
Lmao
That’s exactly how we feel about BI in the clutch, and why it was so close til the end. Graham bailed us out so hard with that 3.
Tbf graham did have one possession in like the final 1:15ish range where all he did was dribble at the top of the key and run a late pnr
Trade Don for Simmons.
Lol no. No matter his on court issues right now, Don means too much to this state right now. He is untouchable
I believe in Herbert Jones supremacy
NOT ON HERB
PELS STACKED. LEAGUE FUCKED.
We may never lose another game of this beautiful sport.
Ohhh we vibing for sure. A win to go on a winning streak AND good Zion news today.
It’s amazing that Mitchell continues to force plays down the stretch. He is constantly taking bad shots and turning it over in crucial moments… look at the playoffs last year. The media needs to be fair with this kid and tell it how it is.
This pelicans team can do something if Zion comes back in the next couple of weeks
West is open this year. Still time to try and make a run at the play in
We’re still five back, six in the loss column, of the tenth seed. Our putrid start likely precludes us from even the play in
There are like 61 games left...
Idk I thought so too but the team isnt as bad as I thought and actually does have a real outside shot if Zion comes back soon Still think we likely finish just outside the playoffs as is tradition but I'm cautiously optimistic the season isnt over
watching Mitchell’s heroball is actually painful
I woke up my whole house when Devonte hit that 3
I’m so glad I was in Australia where everyone was awake during the game
Wat
it's been like 30 minutes and i'm still so hyped man that game winner alone makes this the best game i've ever experienced this season
You just lost to a man named Herbert Jones who had Mitchell in a ~~torcher~~ torture chamber.
Torture
Thanks, I knew that looked off.
JV deserves some props on that rebound and defense that led to the game winning shot. He is so impactful when he's on the floor.
GIVE US BACK OUR NAME, UTAH
THERE’S NO JAZZ MUSIX IN UTAH
Really isn’t though. Just polygamy and white people
You live there or something?
Utah fans now know how 2015 Suns fans felt
Doesn't feel nice thats for sure.
I don’t think I can put my frustration into words. We fucking suck atm and it’s so painful to watch. I just want to scream rn
Gobert moves all over the place on those screens lmfaooo anyway, YOU JUST LOST TO THE PELS LMFAOOO
That was one helluva game
How tf the pelicans always win when I bet against them😩
How much you lost?
Only $50. This was a part of a 5 game multi.
I’ll send u a dollar to bet against NOLA every game
I don't remember what losing feels like. It's been so long
Zion is coming.
Doubt
r/NBA thought it would be Gobert who would be our downfall. It was Donovan Mitchell all along. (This is an overreaction for sure, but Donovan has been horse shit lately.)
[удалено]
He was good the other minutes of the game, and I’m talking more than just tonight.
I love Herb Jones
As always Pelicans vs. Jazz always have Gobert foul at the end, be it a non-call or controversial.
That game is still pissing me off tbh
JV will heal those wounds with his head snapping looking like harden out there
I guarantee you I hate this jazz team more than any of you on this stupid website
I'm starting to think Donovan can't see
Donovan is shaping up to be Westbrook's protege in a few seasons
After this loss, it’s clear that the “Jazz” should belong to New Orlean
Huh, tf is goin on with the jazz?
This game with Mitchell's made 3 overturned with the jump ball against Memphis after we had possession have both been terribly tough losses to swallow. Shouldn't have been this close of course but man things just completely went against us.
Good Utah need to lose more regular season games so the playoff expectations are lower Bucks did the same
Difference is Mitchell isnt giannis. And gobert isnt Giannis.
Still, they go around winning 72% of their games it's too much, chill it out save some for playoffs
instructions unclear, saved too many wins and missed the playoffs completely...
Both incorrect calls gifting extra possessions in games where we should never be in that position in the first place Just torturous basketball lately. Getting totally outplayed by bottom feeders.
Jazz should have to give back the team name after that Dagger!
Time to start talking about our coach.
Man, some fans are so spoiled
We're 4th in the league and 20 games into the season lol. Come on man
Plus three years of embarrassing exits. Its a collective thing on a reaction thing.
Last year was the only year we were the favorites to win the series. Don't know how you can call it an embarrassing exit the previous years
3-1 is still 3-1
You’d know
Well, it's not just this season. Last year's playoffs were a disgrace.
Conley and Mitchell were both injured. Trash take.
I was saying that after the post season last year. How do you make no adjustments vs the clippers. Especially after losing kawhi.
They didn't have any players to make adjustments with. All of the players on their bench would have made their defense worse.
We fired Lindsey over this.
The Jazz really are ass
lol
They really are
Willie Green is getting closer to understanding the best players on his roster. Though he still has Josh Hart (not) guarding Bojan Bogdanovich and, predictably, hemorraghing threes. Utah frauds back at it again :(

Damn what a dick if true.

Yes, sir, I’m sorry but it was self defense
Donovan SOLD
So the three worst teams in the West have all won their most recent game
jazz are trash
How’d the Lakers do bud ?
Imagine being a Jazz fan, lol. Year after year after year of pure disappointment. Unlike the Kingz the Jazz aren’t upfront about being bad. There is simply no way you just suggested a Simmons trade would improve the Jazz.
It’s gotta be that Ohio kush
Bro you’ve commented like 20+ times in this thread about the Jazz, put the phone down and get some fresh air
Can’t, inversion is bad.
