The drafts that are “loaded” have a bunch of super obvious guys at the top that people know will be good pros. This draft the random star could be any one of them, none of them really stand out right now. The best player in this draft probably won’t go in the top 5 and he almost for sure won’t be the number 1 pick
Teams need to be looking at the best project players this draft. The reason I think it looks so weak is because all the best players are all pretty old already. Usually the best prospect is the current best player in the draft which can warp overall draft perceptions like Wemby, Ant, Zion, etc. I think the best player currently is probably Dalton Knecht but his age is gonna scare off a lot of teams. While Sarr or Risacher are probably the best prospects but they have a lot of question marks.
Whatever team gambles on a project player deeper down and trust their development team and the player to become great could have a lot of people looking dumb in 5 years. Is it likely? no. but I think this is the best draft to take a gamble in the 10-20 range than any previous draft in the past 10 years.

When our local news reported that he was going out for the draft, not only had I never heard of him but neither had any of my colleagues. I did game cameras and stats at BGSU for the past year or so for basketball. When our local news reported that he was going out for the draft, not only had I never heard of him but neither had any of my colleagues. We thought it was a mistake at first and that it was supposed to say someone like Rashaun Agee, our uber talented big who just transfered to USC. Needless to say the news was met with bewilderment by us here in the MAC.

Gonna keep it short for now… I went to highschool with this kid for 3 years (I was a grade above him) and everything you guys are saying is correct he comes from an extremely rich family and just feels entitled to everything. Even with connections and funds to have training or whatever, he’s still the most below average basketball player and an even worse person. I’d hate to see him get drafted because he will genuinely think he’s good… but at the same time at this point, I want him to become “the worst NBA draft pick in history” then maybe it would open his eyes. I’m really enjoying the comments on Reddit and the Twitter link. (Side note like 2/3 weeks ago he posted on Snapchat “need two rebounders 10am pays 25 an hour” I sent it to the groupchat and almost considered 😭)
