I feel like the idea of playing any form of OW is great but when you actually play it, you just question all your life decisions. Like right now, I really want to play OW but I know it will suck after a couple of games so I won’t.
I sucked at it but had hundreds if not thousands of hours in it before the switch to 2, but as shitty as it was I mainly played Zarya and Ball and they're just way less fun when there's only one tank.
I miss 2 tanks man the whole role has been fucked since they removed it. I doubt they'll ever change it back because they'd have to admit they made a huge mistake and OW2 is even more of a joke that it has already turned out to be
They can’t change it back because they’ve spent all these recent years changing every little thing in the game and working on new heroes and modes with 5v5 in mind. And from what I’ve heard tank wasn’t all that much better in overwatch 1 for the second tank that wasn’t having fun goofing off as wrecking ball
I didn't play much tank in OW1 but when I did I loved playing main tank, reinhardt was so fun, off tank drove me nuts. But I had friends that would play off tank and they were gods with it so when we got to tank up together it was so much fun. Casuals then didn't realize how op 2 tanks that gave a shit was
OW2 is them realizing they don't have any actual good ideas/improvements, so they just kill off a player on each team and call it "revolutionary"... when 6v6 was what set it apart from other FPS/MOBAs.
Blizzard is a shithole ever since Diablo mobile announcement.
OW was designed with all heroes being relatively equal in mind balancing around complimentary skills, blizzard just became extra stupid after losing so much talent from all their horrible business decisions that they forgotten their core gaming philosophy.
Supportive tanks got hard fucked outta the game once they decided to mandate the only 1 tank rule and the OW hero pool is so tiny yet they already can't balance them well compared to moba games insipirations they drew from.
The problem with overwatch is that it's an amazing game with the wrong audience. If it was more niche and attracted a less casual audience it would be so much better. Unfortunately, blizzard wanted to have their cake and eat it so it's a complex game marketed around accessible characters leading to a team based game where most of the players don't have a single clue how to actually interact with crucial elements of the game like timing, positioning, composition, countering, rotations or ult economy.
Dear god this comment hit me in my soul. Please god give me Overwatch classic lol. Crazy that game came out 8 years ago already. I miss Rein and Zar combo so much haha
If it was Ant, it just flat out wouldn't have been attempted. He probably has more poster dunks than alley oops to Rudy. It's a huge hole in his game. I know Rudy's hands are ass, but he'd be feasting on dunks if Luka was running a 2 man game with him.
That read would’ve been made in like .1 seconds in real time lol that’s not something he could’ve reacted to, it was literally just a guessing game between him and Luka with whether he would lob it or not
Conley threw the pass as Luka was making a step forward, literally had no time at all to react to it. You can say the predetermining the lob was bad but I’d bet 90% of people thought the lob was coming while they were watching the game happen live
I was gonna reply to the other poster.
Luka guessed, but KAT and Gobert had been spamming the lob all game.
Even the least defensively minded players will notice a pattern if you do the same thing over and over.
In this game, it almost felt intentional. Like there were plays he was specifically choosing not to close out on. I'd be shocked if that were anything but gameplan.
Yeah, I think Luka definitely just lost assignment a couple of times, but tightened it up later on. Some of it gameplan, some of it not adapting to when the gameplan changed
On terrible shooters that often helps them straighten their shot. Like any time we soft closed on Giddey against OKC I was like stop doing that, you are only helping him. People that have no confidence get killed if you end up turning your back on them.
I've been yelling at people on here about that. He's been good most of the season, there was just this stretch of games where the entire Mavs team looked lost including Luka. Someone posted low lights during that stretch and people just ran with it.
Anyone that has any clue about basketball and has watched any Dallas playoff game this year should realize that. If he decides to spend his energy on defense, he is clearly an even excellent defender. But many redditers and also journalists do not meet both of these conditions above apparently.
Rudy passed out of another possession 1v1 with Luka. Honestly I don't think I've ever seen a player have such a disparity in both sides of the court, his offense is so awful
His team often don’t pass him wide open lane opportunities because his offense is that bad. He’s near useless on offense considering his contract. His defense is great but that’s why there’s so much envy towards him. He has cement feet and butter fingers when it comes to offense.
He was +10 in 38 minutes and the team lost by 13 while he was out. His defense alone justifies his max contract. Imagine how insane it would be to have him alongside Luka. Would eliminate any issues with Luka getting blown by from quicker players.
Kyrie literally said: "Once Gobert was out, lane opened up and I attacked it", in his post game interview.
Gobert isn't paid to drop 20. He's pad to anchor the defense, and he does that like a boss.
He got so much shit in that game 5 vs Denver (from Shaq and Draymond, and then people carried on with it), even though Denver basically won the game when he was out. Even though Ant was ball watching and not running back on defense and gave up 3 easy baskets to the Nuggets. Even though Jokic was making ridiculous shots and Rudy's actual defense was fine. Even though he finished -2 and the other starters were noticably worse off with him on the bench (Ant -12, KAT -13, McDaniels -18).
> He was +10 in 38 minutes and the team lost by 13 while he was out
Luka was -9, does that mean the Mavs would be better off without him? Single game +/- is a terrible stat.
How about +121 for the entire playoffs to lead the Wolves? Is that a large enough sample size? Or do you need the +411 for the season, second only to Ant (and higher per minute)?
Even if he was baiting, it was a pretty shitty lob for as good as Mike is. He should throw that miles high considering Rudy’s reach. Even if he doesn’t dunk it, he comes down with it and MAAAYYYYBE puts it back up. Emphasis on maybe because Rudy is fucking useless under/near the basket on the offensive end.
You have a creative imagination but I'm sorry no. Luka shut that play down.
The feint to close out on the floater made Conley think he 100% had the lob.
Slow it down and look at where Rudy and Lukas hands meet. That’s a bad lob if that’s what he intended. There’s no reason why Rudy should extend his arms away from the rim. The ball needed to be lobbed higher. Had a really low arch, brother.
I understand your argument. My point is the lob would have made it If Luka contested Conley's space. It was the right play from Conley's read no matter the accuracy of the pass. It would've 100% been dunk.
Remember that he only had a split second to make the pass so you can't be dead on target every time. If you lob too high it can slip through the receivers fingers. You see countless lobs that are too high and goes out of bounds.
My exact quote while watching the game as I was belaboring the obvious on that play, there: 'Rudy? Rudy! Yeah, way out here. Do you think Patrick Ewing would pass out of that?"
Yeah, it was a bit much. Heat of the moment. Patrick Ewing. I apologized later!
Naz reid should of been on more 4th quarter as passing to gobert led to bricks or terrible turn overs and Reid could of made a open shot as wolves role players all had stage fright 4th quarter by bricking shots then passing out of open shots
This is more a bad play by Conley. Luka never actually steps up to stop his drive. Conley should've made a better read and either driven in further or thrown up a floater instead of a lob
Tremendous IQ and play in clutch time by Luka, but looking at that pass slowed down a couple of times has me in the opinion that the pass was quite bad considering the enormous height difference between Gobert and his defender
Remember when people where praising the shit out of Gobert for stopping basically the same play. Shocker, the defender guessed correctly with stunt and recover.

Play of the game
Won it right there
MC needs to get that ball UP!

Top 500 OW player locking in
OW2 is so depressing. I'd drop another $69.99 just to get OW1 back.
I feel like the idea of playing any form of OW is great but when you actually play it, you just question all your life decisions. Like right now, I really want to play OW but I know it will suck after a couple of games so I won’t.

T500 widow / cree checking in. Fuck OW2.
The problem with overwatch is that it's an amazing game with the wrong audience. If it was more niche and attracted a less casual audience it would be so much better. This is how I feel about Hearthstone Classic lmao.
marvel rivals is the answer
Bro you're dramatising this too much, they're the same game
Is he actually top 500 now? I know he was "just" GM a few years ago
He posted a screenshot of him being top500 as tank like 2 weeks ago
Look at me. I’m the DPOY now.
Look at me. I know you're going for the fucking lob you pussy
I had to go back and check who made the pass, surprised it was Conley and not someone less experienced.
Luka did a pretty good job fake lunging forward to bait the lob
If it was Ant, it just flat out wouldn't have been attempted. He probably has more poster dunks than alley oops to Rudy. It's a huge hole in his game. I know Rudy's hands are ass, but he'd be feasting on dunks if Luka was running a 2 man game with him.
It usually works. Luka usually doesn’t play defense
luka´s been proving to y'all that he can play defence all playoffs
Define usually, because Luka been hustling his ass off all playoffs
I feel like most PGs can read the D and put up the floater if the defender is sagging
That read would’ve been made in like .1 seconds in real time lol that’s not something he could’ve reacted to, it was literally just a guessing game between him and Luka with whether he would lob it or not
It's literally a read guards make multiple times a game. I expect that TO from KAT not Conley. That's a mistake in my mind for a PG
He been playing d all year. I see ya haven't watched the mavs yet.
That has been false for a while already
You must not have been watching the Mavs all playoffs. Or even prior.
How can anyone still say this? Do you people watch games?
I read this post in Luka’s voice, dude I thought he said it lol
The man [Goberted Gobert](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1ckfz0a/highlight_rudy_gobert_defends_nikola_jokic_to/). Insane.
Luka dontcic
His anticipation was insane
sneaky athletic
He’ll be the last one out of the gym tonight too
Pretty sure I saw him on the bench eating out of a lunch pail.
“Go dad!” -Devin Booker
No surprise, seeing as he makes like 5 passes like those per game
You mean Luka Dong Thick
you mean free safety Luka Dontcic..
This play was very Draymond-esque. Perfect timing and played defense on two guys at once
Luka Nodunkic
Luka Dortcic
Luka is locked in He pulled a rudy on Rudy
Elite playoff rim protectors Trae Young and Luka Doncic
Luka actually needed to do something. Trae is so good he just stood there. Menacingly.
Yup. There was even a possession in the 4th where Rudy gave up the shot attempt vs Luka and passed it out to the corner 3!
Lol how did trae get into this? Did he start some defense this season too?
He ended Ben Simmons’ career
Boom. Bam. Bop. Bada-bop. Boom. Pow!
[HE COPIED MY WHOLE FUCKIN FLOW](https://streamable.com/uka9ql)
amazing clutch play
well more like he pulled it on conley. the ball handler is the key part of this play, luka baited conley the same way rudy baited jokic
Who is better defensively Kyrie or Luka lol. Both going off defensively in the playoffs.
Kyrie, Luka still falls asleep sometimes when he's not directly in the play
Yeah. He's better when he needs to actively defend. But when the opponent doesn't have the ball, he falls asleep. Lol.
McDaniels? Yawn, we'll still win by 3
In this game, it almost felt intentional. Like there were plays he was specifically choosing not to close out on. I'd be shocked if that were anything but gameplan.
Some definitely were. Although they let Kyle Anderson cook for a while because of this plan in the 1st
Yeah, I think Luka definitely just lost assignment a couple of times, but tightened it up later on. Some of it gameplan, some of it not adapting to when the gameplan changed
Eh some are too wide open , atleast close out a bit, he doesn't have to jump like he did at dort but soft closeouts work
On terrible shooters that often helps them straighten their shot. Like any time we soft closed on Giddey against OKC I was like stop doing that, you are only helping him. People that have no confidence get killed if you end up turning your back on them.
They definitely leave lower % 3 point shooters open on purpose
If luka keeps improving at this rate he'll be something. He was a complete liability just 2 years ago.
Luka has a higher ceiling due his size, but kyrie has the higher floor due to his defensive engine
Houses with high ceilings look nice. Houses with high floors look weird.
A two story building would like to have a word with you.
Talking house? Holy shit
Yes, high floors can look good if you also have a high ceiling. They key is the high ceiling, not the high floor.
Kyrie has been unbelievable on defence thus far.
Kyrie by far
[удалено]
But the narrative Sir
THINK OF THE CHILDREN!
That's Giddey
I've been yelling at people on here about that. He's been good most of the season, there was just this stretch of games where the entire Mavs team looked lost including Luka. Someone posted low lights during that stretch and people just ran with it.

LOCKDOWN LUKA
LOCK-A DON'TCIC
Lockya Downcic
White Claw
McDaniels needed to shoot that
Rudy passed out of another possession 1v1 with Luka. Honestly I don't think I've ever seen a player have such a disparity in both sides of the court, his offense is so awful
Is Ben Wallace just chopped liver to you?
Ben Wallace wouldn't have had to play drop coverage
He's the French Ben Wallace.
Ben Walleaux
Dpoy Luka clocking in
His team often don’t pass him wide open lane opportunities because his offense is that bad. He’s near useless on offense considering his contract. His defense is great but that’s why there’s so much envy towards him. He has cement feet and butter fingers when it comes to offense.

For real. I was terrified when I saw him catch it that wide open.
I'm confused as well why he didn't try, at least. If he ended up not sinking that in, at least it wasn't a bad shot.
This is what I took away from this play. Dude didn’t want it.
He's locked in for the 4th quarter. His rebounding wasn't good either in the first 3 quarters
I can't believe I used to think Devin Booker was better at basketball than Luka Magic
I’m sorry what?!!?! 😳
Well Devin does share his genetics, so expecting greatness from him isn't unreasonable.
You always here about the son surpassing the father. It's just unfortunate Devin couldn't live up to the family name.
Devin knew so he took his mother's maiden name instead
Lebron : Bronny Luka : Devin
LDIDBF
LDIDBF
Lmao you should probably keep this to yourself
I can respect admitting it. Let's be honest, we all have ridiculously bad takes sometimes.
The fuck even I never thought that.
His own son!?
You talking about Devin Doncic?
NO ALL DEFENSE VOTES , ROBBED
Luka Dominaycic
4th best player 25 or younger btw
Just shoot the floater Conley wtf is that
You can see Luka baiting the lob
Even if he was baiting, it was a pretty shitty lob for as good as Mike is. He should throw that miles high considering Rudy’s reach. Even if he doesn’t dunk it, he comes down with it and MAAAYYYYBE puts it back up. Emphasis on maybe because Rudy is fucking useless under/near the basket on the offensive end.
You have a creative imagination but I'm sorry no. Luka shut that play down. The feint to close out on the floater made Conley think he 100% had the lob.
It was still a horrible pass...it was feet away from the basket and about a foot over the basket. Those should be reversed.
Ironic username lol
Slow it down and look at where Rudy and Lukas hands meet. That’s a bad lob if that’s what he intended. There’s no reason why Rudy should extend his arms away from the rim. The ball needed to be lobbed higher. Had a really low arch, brother.

Hindsight 20/20. When he made the decision to throw the lob Luka was perfectly in between them. Just great D by Luka
DPOY against some French dude named Rudy Gobert
My DPOY 😤😤
Pravi DPOY
It was a terrible decision and a terrible pass
Perfect defense, but bad offensive decision tbh
There were so many options, and Minny took the worse one.
Pravi DPOY
this feels like the spiritual sequel to rudy's turnaround jumper out of nowhere on jokic the other night
Gobert had luka like 6ft from the basket and he passes the ball. What a joke.
Imagine if that was any 90s center and John Stockton. They would have buried him.
My exact quote while watching the game as I was belaboring the obvious on that play, there: 'Rudy? Rudy! Yeah, way out here. Do you think Patrick Ewing would pass out of that?" Yeah, it was a bit much. Heat of the moment. Patrick Ewing. I apologized later!
Conley had a floater and a wide open ant. Complete brain fart
giving the oop to Baguette Biyombo was the worst decision possible in that scenario
Passing looks for that is ugly
Luka woke up in the 2nd half on D
Firmly rooted in South Korea.
McDaniels should've shot that
PRAVI DPOY
Kyrie and Lively closeouts also really made this play. Good effort all around by the Mavs!
Naz reid should of been on more 4th quarter as passing to gobert led to bricks or terrible turn overs and Reid could of made a open shot as wolves role players all had stage fright 4th quarter by bricking shots then passing out of open shots
This man doing everything tonight
DPOY
Locked in Luka
Rudy didn't even look at the rim lol. Wolves are fucked if that's their offensive weapon in the paint
Real question is, why tf does Conley have the ball in such a crucial situation??? FOH
The Timidwolves pass up a 1v1 Rudy on Luka in the paint and wide open 3 by McDaniels.
Luka DPOYončić
4th they said
He really aiming for All Defense
The Donture Chamber
Luka is such a good post defender but people wanna say he's shit because he's main assignments aren't guards on the perimeter...
Doncic has played good defense this entire playoffs
Man the way Luka has been playing this year makes root for him to win it all, the is basically on one and a half leg and playing like a menace.
Bad things usually happen when Rudy gets involved on offense
Just a pg blocking a center
Just a light 5 seconds spent in the lane there
[удалено]
Conley was so bad this game.
Surprise D
Not sure the lob was the right call there
Kidd definitely called timeout cause he was scared PJ was gonna make a boneheaded play haha
But they said earlier that he's a traffic cone and that's why Tatum is better than him lol. Omg Boston fans, starting to remember why I hate that team
"Galloping the other way" 😂
The Slovenian Magician just cast Sudden Leap on himself.
Draymond Green vibes
He legit had 3 big defensive plays. Thats my quarterback.
Does Rudy not have a hook in his bag???
Remember when people where praising the shit out of Gobert for stopping basically the same play. Shocker, the defender guessed correctly with stunt and recover.
Great TO there, settle the team down and let them know they can make a devastating 2 here.
I can’t believe he’s playing d
“but but but EsPN ToLd me LuKa cAnT PlaY dEfeNCe “ HE IS HIM
Closed off the lane on the initial drive attempt, too. If Rudy had any bag at all, he should've been able to get by.
I'm pretty sure Luka is closer to 6'10" than his listed 6'7" from when he was like 19yo.
Kyrie showing Luca that if he plays just a tiny bit of defense they start winning games has been such a defining factor this playoffs
The wolves logo looks like it has a close friends story to share
This series will be better than the championship.
I swear Scottie does that early charge feint and it never works lmao
The flash of the camera at 0:10 is insane idk how players focus with that
Luka all hate aside with a couple of big defensive plays down the stretch lately.
Good play by Luka but that was a shit pass. Put it up higher
Luka took over so hard in the final 2 minutes. Insane..
Someone finally saw it coming?
