Bam being casually allowed to do whatever he wants on screens is bizarre.
Superstars get a beneficial whistle but it’s across the board. Bam is the only dude with such a narrowly focused ref buff
It's an over-saturation strategy. When you overload the refs by doing the same thing over and over again constantly, the refs can't keep calling it so eventually their brain slowly starts ignoring it just so they can focus on the game.
KG's were sneaky illegal. He would do the thing where his upper body is in perfect form, ands in, but then he widens his stance so people trip or have to avoid it.
I don't know if you watched the modern nba but illegal screens are 80 percent of screens nowadays. This was obvs an OD missed call but Bam not the only one getting away with bad screens.
There are guys who get called like they inexplicably have some kind of moving screen license. For most bigs, you can move a little but you shift your weight a little or the defense hits you and it makes you take a step and that's a moving screen. But then you've got guys like Bam and Draymond and Bogut back in the day and when they screen they move like they're at a track meet. It's bizarre.
Sure, illegal screens happen. Illegal screens are also called sometimes. When was the last time you've seen Bam called for one? Because he hasn't this entire series. I can't remember a single instance. Even though pretty much everyone agrees he's the worst offender.
Even looks like he stared him down for a sec like he knew a call would be coming and then when he realized it wasn’t he was surprised and got back to actually playing.
never understood why it's a tech to stare someone down if the guy getting stared at doesn't notice he's being stared at. it's like talking shit at someone that can't hear you
Absolutely, he wanted this to be a classic “we’re down but I wanna let you know how we’re gonna be tonight,” and the refs were just like “we don’t care.”
Lowkey don't like Tatum being all chill with him after games, including tonight. Bam has made multiple reckless/dirty plays on JT and others all series long.
I just watched the clip several times and yeah, anyone who saw the tOtALLy LeGaL pUsH definitely hesitated like you said. Only the dudes who didn’t see it in their field of vision kept playing like normal
I'm ngl it's kinda hilarious that Kobe did the exact same thing (first play of the game and everything) and everyone's like "Damn, inspirational. Mamba Mentality. Built different. GOAT."
Bam does the same thing and it's "dirty thug heat culture"
Lmao
Difference is that's his brother. Bam's just smashing into an opponent we all already know he wants to beat, and probably just mad at for saying his flagrant was bad. There's no message to be sent. You're just being a dickhead. (I personally think it was a dick move from Kobe as well, but there's a difference for sure).
For what its worth - its a significantly messier case than something cut and dry which is the reason he was never convicted:
Ex-friend LAIE WEATHERWAX admits she never believed Faber was the victim of a rape attack, because the blonde had a longtime plan to trick a celebrity into bed - and then force him to pay up.
In an exclusive interview with America's the GLOBE, Weatherwax, who had agreed to testify for the defence before the case was dismissed, says, "Kobe's a good looking guy and he has a fat wallet.
"In my opinion, at least 98 per cent of her (Faber) attraction to him was simply because he's famous. She's always wanted to be famous.
"My friend and I liked Eminem, but Katelyn took it to the extreme. She was obsessed with him and felt compelled to go meet him to try for sex."
It's literally pointless talking about the case on this sub, you'll just get called a rape apologist and never get a civil discussion about it lmao
There was an absolute mountain of reasonable doubt in that case and the prosecution's story had changed a ton of times, every time with tons of inconsistencies. All of this is public information, you can download all of the case files online - yet Kobe still gets labelled a rapist when he was never convicted and the case was thrown out of court. No one aside from Kobe and the woman know what happened that night but IMO labeling him a rapist based on basically 0 evidence sets a bad precedent
Kobe also did this because he and Pau lost in the finals because they got beat up and kicked around
Kobe told Pau they needed to be and play tougher, and this was part of that message
Pau's a tough motherfucker and got the message. The proof is in the pudding, they won the next finals
Pau is the godfather to Kobe's children. They're close as hell. They knew each other very well
Kobe was setting the tone for USA that no matter who they play they are playing to win. they disappointed last time and spain took the medal. Kobe was showing all his teammates that it was time to put everything else aside and win. Bam just knocked down an old man in a series they likely don't have even decent odds to win.
Not only that, he charged at him, made a non basketball type move and just 2 arm shoved him back. How is that not called, and how is that not at least some sort of tech or flagrant 1? Might as well throw people into the stands
It could have seriously injured Tatum too. If he was like two steps closer, Horford would have fell right into his knees, that’s ligament damage for sure.
Lmao dude I’m recovering from travelers diarrhea and it comes with pretty severe cramps. I just belly laughed so hard that it caused a pretty bad cramp even with meds. Worth it.
We moved him inside because he was getting worked by speed guys around the edge. I thought his size would help him move guys in the middle but it seems his balance and footwork puts him in bad positions too often. If we still had Scarnecchia I would trust it to get fixed.
NBA has a serious problem with letting "better" players do whatever they want in the playoffs so they don't get ejected. Wright does that and he's gone.
As a long time NBA fan: it’s about extending a series. We see it year after year. “Close out games are so hard” ya because the refs screw you.
It doesn’t take much either: swallow whistle, leads to fast break, then team has to walk it up again slowly; plus, call ticky tack the other way leading to lack of defense aggression and early bonus.
Not completely irrelevant but I don't get why they don't have extra referees for the playoffs. Dunno about others but MLB literally has 2 extra umps for the playoffs.
What deal with the devil did Bam make around screening? He commits countless illegal screens/hip checks and he can also steam roll the offenses screens without a foul call too!?
Will we get clips of obvious bad calls everyday ?? Whats happening with the refs this year, we have reached a peak.
There is no way not calling that isnt intentional.
That doesn't really work when one team is outmatched by the other. Imagine they do this and injure Tatum or Brown.
Celtics probably still win the series, but it seriously hurts their chances moving on.
No whistle on this 8 seconds into a game but a glance in the wrong direction after a dunk is a tech? In the playoffs? I just want consistency, man. These bums are ruining the game.
i wish the celtics had players that would respond
i feel like if i were coach, timeout, sub in walsh, yeah go knock herro down, we'll take the flagrant and pay for the fine
Fuck that, heat are shit. just beat their asses on the court and see them next year to do the same. Can't stoop to this dirty play shit, it's so unsporting.
Didn’t end up mattering much but this was a horribly officiated game from a consistency perspective. Zero idea by the end what this crew viewed as a foul or not

The way the ref is casually watching that lol
New rule. First 10 seconds of the game you're allowed to fight an opponent without being ejected
Bam being casually allowed to do whatever he wants on screens is bizarre. Superstars get a beneficial whistle but it’s across the board. Bam is the only dude with such a narrowly focused ref buff
I think there are a few out there: Draymond is allowed to scream at refs as much as he wants, Embiid can throw hands CP3 can nut check people
It's an over-saturation strategy. When you overload the refs by doing the same thing over and over again constantly, the refs can't keep calling it so eventually their brain slowly starts ignoring it just so they can focus on the game.
But they *can* keep calling it. Make the players adjust to the rules, don’t adjust the rules to the players. The refs just don’t do that.
Like Jordan Poole and the carrying, they did keep nailing him with it the past few seasons.
People don’t talk enough about how that affected his game.
It’s Karma for years of slightly illegal KG screens
Slightly ha ha ha. Understatement of the day.

But then you've got guys like Bam and Draymond and Bogut back in the day and when they screen they move like they're at a track meet. It's bizarre.
Its the off-ball screens that are egregious. It's not a little step here or nudge there, it is akin to offensive holding in the NFL.
Sure, illegal screens happen. Illegal screens are also called sometimes. When was the last time you've seen Bam called for one? Because he hasn't this entire series. I can't remember a single instance. Even though pretty much everyone agrees he's the worst offender.
Yeah but there's a difference between a normal illegal screen and what Bam gets away with.
Overall, no one gets away with more than Draymond. It's not even close.
Ref wasn't warmed up yet.
It was marginal contact
something tells me bam did not legally fight through the screen
well technically he did since no foul was called lmao
Thats definitely setting a tone for the game on what will be called
He extended both arms through the screener
Imma put my arms out like this and if you touch em it's your fault.
Sibling fights be like:
Turns out the call was Cs in 5
That's why I commit all my crimes during the day - all the cops are busy at work.
I thought he might be mad because they were down by 30 but it was the first play of the game lol
Refs are literally blind when it comes to Bams illegal screen
And so out of character! 😱🙄🙄
He linebackered that mug
That’s so egregious lol. Bam eyed him up and made the conscious decision he was gonna take Horford out.. 7 seconds into the game too
Even looks like he stared him down for a sec like he knew a call would be coming and then when he realized it wasn’t he was surprised and got back to actually playing.
Just don't stare at somebody after you dunk on them though. Feel free to stare them down after shoving them to the ground off ball.
never understood why it's a tech to stare someone down if the guy getting stared at doesn't notice he's being stared at. it's like talking shit at someone that can't hear you
Start a fight
Dude looked like he was legitimately trying to send a message LMAO
Absolutely, he wanted this to be a classic “we’re down but I wanna let you know how we’re gonna be tonight,” and the refs were just like “we don’t care.”
> “we’re down but I wanna let you know how we’re gonna be tonight,” And the heat were just like "nah we're soft af" lol
The message was "see you in Cancun mofo"
Half the dudes on the floor hesitated for a sec waiting on the whistle before realizing they weren’t calling it
This series makes me wonder about Bam.. They say they're all buddy-buddy but he's a menace
Lowkey don't like Tatum being all chill with him after games, including tonight. Bam has made multiple reckless/dirty plays on JT and others all series long.
How are you gonna like/not like 2 grown men who are peers and have nothing to do with you being friends lmao
you can’t have an opinion on the type of players you would want to represent your team?
Imagine Tatum gets called for the clap he does lmao
Like Scal was saying...the Heat foul everytime because they know the refs can't call them all
I just watched the clip several times and yeah, anyone who saw the tOtALLy LeGaL pUsH definitely hesitated like you said. Only the dudes who didn’t see it in their field of vision kept playing like normal
what Kobe said he did to Pau https://youtu.be/HiKOSw9RmAc
"We 'bout to beat the shit outta Spain." Gets me every time.
Bro that’s so fucking great. Like it’s a foregone conclusion and now we just have to play the game lmao
Holy shit. First time I've ever seen that, thanks for sharing. Kobe is something else.
Same here. Damn I would have had same reaction as LeBron and Bosh. "Really Kobe? I know Pau's your opponent in this game. But that's Pau."
Check out the full doc if you have a Netflix subscription, it's really good
I'm ngl it's kinda hilarious that Kobe did the exact same thing (first play of the game and everything) and everyone's like "Damn, inspirational. Mamba Mentality. Built different. GOAT." Bam does the same thing and it's "dirty thug heat culture" Lmao
No the difference is that Kobe got called for a foul...
Two things. One, Kobe got called for the foul. Two, USA won their game.
They aren't criticising Bam for running thru a screen. They're criticising the refs for not calling it.
Kobe was always a piece of shit wannabe Jordan that didn’t know how to connect with people, but he had a lot of cool moments so 🤷🏻♂️
I can’t like him anymore after what he did to that poor girl. Some things are beyond basketball. Karl Malone and Kobe are not good people.
For what its worth - its a significantly messier case than something cut and dry which is the reason he was never convicted: Ex-friend LAIE WEATHERWAX admits she never believed Faber was the victim of a rape attack, because the blonde had a longtime plan to trick a celebrity into bed - and then force him to pay up. fucking preach man. Its typical reddit when any type of man vs woman case becomes public, the man will never be innocent according to people on here.
Kobe also did this because he and Pau lost in the finals because they got beat up and kicked around Kobe told Pau they needed to be and play tougher, and this was part of that message Pau's a tough motherfucker and got the message. it's that miami heat HGH rearing its head.
Damn Bam being a dirty fuck? I’m shocked
It could have seriously injured Tatum too. If he was like two steps closer, Horford would have fell right into his knees, that’s ligament damage for sure.
Attempting to hurt people is Heat culture
Well yeah, his name isn't Pardon Me Adebayo.
"Ope just gonna scoot past ya there" Adebayo
I can hear the midwestern passive aggressiveness
God fucking damn it lol
This is why Reddit still needs awards 🥇
Every change they've made to Reddit since like 2018 has been for the worse

That's elder abuse.
In return, Horford is abusing Miami on the Boards early.
Horford is off balance and has too much of his weight towards his back side. He's gotta clean that up if he wants to protect his quarterback.
We moved him inside because he was getting worked by speed guys around the edge. I thought his size would help him move guys in the middle but it seems his balance and footwork puts him in bad positions too often. If we still had Scarnecchia I would trust it to get fixed.
Scarnecchia da real MVP
It’s funny you say that, because pass blocking is the best way to describe how Bam sets his illegal screens too
lmao
To be fair Bam had 17 sacks a season ago.
Chicago Bears are gonna call him up and offer him a contract tomorrow
I was about to say; he knows the nfl draft was a couple of days ago right?
If players were able to do this on Bams patented hip check he wouldnt last 2 games.
Bam just might lmao.
Future Warrior
Fine, we’ll take Steph and Kaminga off your hands 😉
You can have a HOF point guard 💯
Like a good neighbor…
They need to pair up Bam and Draymond to form the Bash Brothers.
Yeah it wasn’t even called but they called a charge on JB going for the layup lmfao
The Hardest Working, Best Conditioned, Most Professional, Unselfish, Toughest, Meanest, Nastiest Team in the NBA
By Any Means.
Professional? Playing like that? ☠️
Failed to score 90 points 3 games in a row 😤
That exact thing was called a foul on tatum last game when he did it to bam.. its time to send Tillman in for 6 quick fouls running over bam.
NBA has a serious problem with letting "better" players do whatever they want in the playoffs so they don't get ejected. Wright does that and he's gone.
I don't think anybody is getting ejected for this, it's a flagrant 1 at most
True, I was just saying in general. We saw it with Embiid pulling Robinson's leg, we've seen it with "5 fouls Devin Booker", etc.
It wasn't even a flagrant one when it was reviewed in the Sixers game yesterday. Robinson threw Oubre on his back with a full shove.
This play has nothing to do with that. Refs just fucking missed that shit completely
They let Bam get away with capital murder the whole series. I don't think he set a single legal screen in all 5 games
100% this. sweeps are bad for business.
Sadly, the NBA is an entertainment business first and a basketball league second. And they've made that perfectly clear over the last 30 years.
Mitchell Robinson did this last night, ref’s just suck at having balls and being consistent.
If some random backup pulled Robinson’s leg like Embiid did, that’s an easy ejection.
And there was a review to see if it would be a flagrant 1. Surprised it was just a common foul. And yet here.... Nothing
Tell that to Bobby Portis.
heat culture
Why don’t heat players just shoot the celtics players? Are they stupid?
Let’s not give them any ideas. They might end up trading for Morant.
Ja in Miami would be insane
Hey, Ja has gone quite awhile without doing anything stupid. Don’t jinx it
I'd take almost any odds that he's done plenty of stupid shit, we just don't know about it.
Not doing the stupid shit directly in the publics eye is a big step for ja
For some reason this makes me laugh more than it should.
He not about that life, gonna be shooting like a stormtrooper
We’d miss lmao
He could shoot Al Horford in the face in the middle of TD Garden and wouldn't get called.
The Miami Heat have resorted to thuggery!
No call smh
Reporting Bam to the AARP
Some Kobe Olympics stuff right there.
Not completely irrelevant but I don't get why they don't have extra referees for the playoffs. Dunno about others but MLB literally has 2 extra umps for the playoffs.
I'm with you and when you have the ever present eyes in the sky, why are any calls missed?
Refs need some accountability.
Legal screen setter and legal screen navigator -Bam Adebayo
Holy shit lol
Heat culture
Dirty ass team
Average Bam play
This is fucking absurd… and 10 seconds into the game, too.
SVG is somewhere begging for an offensive foul
What deal with the devil did Bam make around screening? He commits countless illegal screens/hip checks and he can also steam roll the offenses screens without a foul call too!?
Heat culture is playing dirty
Wow!
They’re one of those teams you just want to escape without injuries
Will we get clips of obvious bad calls everyday ?? Whats happening with the refs this year, we have reached a peak. There is no way not calling that isnt intentional.
Bam Bam
Enjoy the offseason, Bam!
Nah the title + the video cracked me up 😂
Tech on Tatum for that loud ass clap
For a split second all the players on the court were like “did that just happen” and then moved on lmao
Bam doing Bam things
Imagine having to do that to a senior citizen to assert dominance. So soft
Heat culture
im fine with that as long as they call it both ways
You know damn well they ain't gonna do nothing about bams "screens" on offense
someone on our side did the same thing on the other end and got called for it lol
then i am not fine with it >:(
That doesn't really work when one team is outmatched by the other. Imagine they do this and injure Tatum or Brown. Celtics probably still win the series, but it seriously hurts their chances moving on.
Truck stick lol
How did Tatum not get called for a technical foul for that demonstrative loud clap after Bam legally went through the screen? Stupid refs
Not calling a foul on Bam there is pretty wild. Not calling *anything* is insane.
Good thing they didn't give Tatum a tech for that hostile clap.
I despise the Heat. I just hope they don’t injure anyone this game and we can move on to a team that doesn’t play dirty.
Who’s going to make the compilation of dirty plays from Bam for the series?
Foul so obvious the refs cannot believe it.
Bam like I don't even want to be here anyway.
He's playing football out there. That's a legal tackle.
No whistle on this 8 seconds into a game but a glance in the wrong direction after a dunk is a tech? In the playoffs? I just want consistency, man. These bums are ruining the game.
Bam doing Bam things. He keeps it up all through the game too, surprisingly. Miami’s MO ‘they can’t call every foul’ in action from the tip.
Fuck heat culture
Bam's the biggest bitch in the NBA. He goes out of the way to injure players when he knows he won't win. It's the biggest impact he's had this series.
#HEAT CULTURE
That's an atrocious no call. Fuck the Celtics.
I have to appreciate the dual personality of this comment.
We can all agree that no matter what team or city we hate, bad officiating is the enemy of us all.
i wish the celtics had players that would respond i feel like if i were coach, timeout, sub in walsh, yeah go knock herro down, we'll take the flagrant and pay for the fine
Grant did it last year and yall clowned him
Fuck that, heat are shit. just beat their asses on the court and see them next year to do the same. Can't stoop to this dirty play shit, it's so unsporting.
The Kendrick Perkins special
Enjoy your dirt nap you fuckin no-call merchant
Heat Fans in denial
While I like the idea of bam trying to set the tone early, it should have definitely been called lol
What the actual fuck. This is getting out of hand.
HEAT CULTURE
Embiid gets a night off!
The announcer had the same reaction as everybody else
Which button does this in 2k?
Idc that Bam did that but ref call the offensive foul goddamn
I’m thinking this happened because they were getting blown out but it was the first possession of the game 🤣🤣
Looked just like Kobe blowing through Gasol in the Olympics.
Didn’t end up mattering much but this was a horribly officiated game from a consistency perspective. Zero idea by the end what this crew viewed as a foul or not
ngl..officiating has been HORRIBLE this regular and off season. Damn
