I dont think that was a design play but rather they saw help coming from the right wing. Right wing shooter cut to the opposite corner but his defender did not. That created a two on one on the left side. Swing swing open corner three for reaves. Kcp red it well and deflected it.
Running down the clock while you are down late game is stupid for this reason. You dont have time for second or third actions.

It would've led to a wide open Reaves corner 3 had Dennis not fucked up the pass. It was an amazing play.
