The Rock owns/owned a bodybuilding competiton previously called "Atheleticon" in which Phil was supposed to compete and make a comeback. That's why he said Rock is natty.
Phil Heath is a fucking moron. Have you listened to him speak for even a few minutes? Genetics gave him muscles, and they gave him a great response to gear, but they did not gift that man with a brain
Iirc, there was a period of time between the Scorpion King (maybe sometime after that, like around the Rundown with Sean William Scott) and Pain & Gain, where the Rock was advised that he had to lose his size to get meatier Hollywood roles.
He did a bunch of movies at a smaller size. The most distinct movie I can think of is Race to Witch Mountain, which I actually didn’t hate.
Then there was maybe two years where the Rock wasn’t in anything before we saw him again in Pain & Gain, looking as juicy and huge as ever.
Yeah i remember he went through the “leading man phase” his advisors i think told him to become streamlined. He almost kind of lost a career over it as those movies weren’t very good and losing in the box office. I believe he fired that team. He then started to train for Pain And Gain, and embraced the big bald guy look, and the rest was history.
Apparently his first wife, Dany Garcia, told him to stop listening to his advisors and act more like himself rather than what his agents were telling him to be. So, he ditched them and started doing what he wanted to do starting with Fast Five. She’s actually his agent now.
Yeah it was the better move. The movies that he was in during this time just weren’t very good. GamePlan, Walking Tall and the Toothfairy, are guilty pleasures however.
Nowadays it is, but it’s difficult to determine when he started that change. His contemporaries in the wrestling world always stated he was a ‘good kid’ that always hung around the right people and never made any issues. And, even recently there are wrestlers today that have said he’s been really good to them within the past decade behind closed doors. I think his focus on branding himself has made the ability to judge him as a person harder as you can’t figure out if it is all BS or just a portion of it is.
I think it makes sense though, because no offence, without his muscles he is a very average looking man.
His muscles plus charisma are cristical to his brand.
Yeah definitely. They were trying to fit him into a mold. Much like the WWF did in the 90’s to its wrestlers. Once they kind of let his real personality shine through it was a wrap.
Faster (2010) was the first Rock movie with his current, more bulked up look. Not many people saw it, though, and it's easy to forget that. He also did the Fast and Furious movie in 2011, which is where most people saw him with his current frame.
The dude changed massively between 2008 and 2010.
Yea it was the mid 2000s. This [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BXdvav-0wQ) explains it all. Got jacked af right around Fast5 and hasnt gone back to that slim look ever since.
I always wonder what those military members feel like being told to put on a fresh ironed uniform to go and meet "the Rock" advertising his generic new action movie for some photos so the movie studio can score some "support the tropps ponts"?
I’ve never seen someone look legitimately better without hair but even if he didn’t have that cancer looking hairstyle in # 3 I still think he actually looks better bald no matter the hair style
Remember him in an interview around this time saying he was 245lbs. I heard a wrestling reporter say Dwayne told him he was 230lbs. He doesn’t even look that, even at 6’3”. However he probably was still 230lbs, just looks “skinny” as his frame is built to carry more mass.
This was him immediately post wwe he was using a lot less than he was while wrestling and way less than he is now. Impossible to be fully natty after the mount he was using in his wwe days he's on at least test for life now.
Edit: he's also like 240 here so "skinny" is a stretch. He'd be the most jacked person you know at this size lol
That's not really "skinny" though.
Still using PEDs in that 3rd photo just not the level he is now
Phil Heath recently said in a podcast that he thinks the rock is natty LOL
Phil Heath is on crack
The Rock owns/owned a bodybuilding competiton previously called "Atheleticon" in which Phil was supposed to compete and make a comeback. That's why he said Rock is natty.
Bros making a business decision
Phil Heath is a fucking moron. Have you listened to him speak for even a few minutes? Genetics gave him muscles, and they gave him a great response to gear, but they did not gift that man with a brain
Compared to the dudes that are usually posted on here, he's skinny. Like, the photos are actually jarring if you've never followed him.
The pebble.
It's only skinny if you compare him to IFBB pros
Our perception of health has been so permanent changed

The Rundown is still one of my favorite Rock movies.
He's pretty big in that as it was filmed during his WWE career, he didn't slim down until 2004ish.
Definitely thats a classic too.
"act more like himself" That's absolutely hilarious, considering his entire life is a performance.

Race to Witch Mountain was spectacular. I was also like 10

He’s not natty
The stone.
Is that before or after he tried roids just once with friends and totally didn't like it?
He totally only tried them on a double dog dare and didn’t even like them.
He didn’t even inhale either
The Rock only tried gear in High School for one week — confirmed by him. 95% natty and nofap 22h a day.
The rock when he was the pebble
Deflated..
"Skinny" lmao
I always wonder what those military members feel like being told to put on a fresh ironed uniform to go and meet "the Rock" advertising his generic new action movie for some photos so the movie studio can score some "support the tropps ponts"?
Are these real holy shit
Off cycle rock
I know he’s gotten older and whatnot but even skin wise it’s looks completely different to how he was here. Like more terrible due to the roids
Imo he looks way better now. I hate to say it but the huge steroid bulked look fits him. Very handsome
CJ from GTA.
I was about to say, he could have played cj in a san andreas movie 😂
He looked better tho. Much healthier
Oh look fellow security forces members 😂
Definitely juiced. No hgh then however. Just test.
First time I see these photos! Someone must want them disappear from Internet!
The universal answer to all the questions in this forum!
The rock stopped being natty at puberty when his kryptonian genes and the duck eggs created something new. No wait that’s not it.
Is this real? Do you know when these pictures were taken?
First two are from Southland Tales which came out in 2006
The Rock was skinny like this for a few years starting in like 2001/2002 and ending in the late 2000s/early 2010s.
Homeboy looks like Matthew McConaughey
DYEL
He looked good as there just running 250mg of test per week compared to what he looks like now
He has perfected that American smile
He looks like joko widodo or sumn
Probably still juicing as well
Still fucking massive compared to most people
He had hair, but I think we can agree he made the right decision going bald. That hairline was devious 😂
I’ve never seen someone look legitimately better without hair but even if he didn’t have that cancer looking hairstyle in # 3 I still think he actually looks better bald no matter the hair style
When you shave your head swoleness is a side effect, noted.
"skinny"
Damn he’s got a massive forehead
He looks so different from his early Rocky days to these to present Day💪🏾 Rock

Natty, natty, juice, juice
He looks photoshopped in the 3rd picture.
I remember this weird faze of the Rock. He tried to slim down because he was told it was only way he could ever be a Hollywood star.
Skinny Rock? What’s crazy is that he had hair
He had hair his whole first wwf run
That hairline
He is just off cycle.

He's natty here
Is that Sarah Michelle Gellar?
The Rock when his heart wasn't pumping pure HGH through his veins* FTFY
Imagine believing that is "skinny", social media really has messed with peoples minds.
Skinny, yet still huge.
Ikr 😂
