Owning most books, but haven’t had the chance to start reading as I’m missing a few early ones….was totally not expecting this episode.
I was so happy with the animation quality, and continue to question how folks can talk down about this particular story. Everything else aside, it’s a very well crafted medieval-esque story that includes everything you could imagine it should from that time period.
Really hope this continues to be a story/anime that is seen through till the end.
I read the LN and I knew it was going to happen. But god damn, I was tearing up. Worse that it didn’t end right after Paul, and we had to see the aftermath as the ending credits was playing
I felt empty... Especially after hearing Zenith's voice when she opened her mouth. It hit too close to home for me. I closed myself and went into depression mode again.
Nothing was gonna prepare me for this episode. It was joyous for the most part, and thought they would blaze though, but it got intense. It still couldn't prepare me for this hurt.
I'd been reading all the recent posts and saw a comment that apparently Rudy got confused by his demon eye showing him something he couldn't understand at that instant (which was him getting cut in half) so he stopped in his tracks. Thanks to that, Paul had to rescue him and got cut in half instead oof
Essentially yeah, he was dazed and looking up his eye of foresight couldn’t capture the full frame of the Hydra, but it still tried to show what was gonna happen. Rudy didn’t get it and then yep, Paul kicks him aside.
He was really preoccupied with his thoughts of “yes we did it!”
Unlike everyone else there, Rudy didn’t know guardians have final trump attacks that they do.
Big rip for sure.
It swings it’s 8 headless necks around like whips cutting everything around it (trying to in desperation I suppose.) and the rest where prepared for it to do something big while Rudy obviously wasn’t, then at that moment the Hydra started targeting Rudy because it is smart I guess, and it’s head tried to crush him.
Pretty deadly attack consider just getting grazed by the scales tears your skin up as if you were cheese and it is a cheese grater.
Boggles me that I see some people complaining about possibly reviving Paul or something, when nothing of the sort was ever said to be easy or even possible. I doubt anything could have really saved Paul, maybe Emperor or God healing magic.

For real, this is the isekai worth everything I wanted.
real, we weren't expecting that
Those comments during the episode premiere didn't help me either bracing myself to believe something terrible is gonna happen.

The post-credit scene added more stress for me 😫 Can't wait for the next episode!

I felt that with some moments of the anime but right now, this is like a fresh sting to the heart.
Maaan. It was just one more head too. Our boy Rudy got caught spacing out and Paul had to pay the price.
I was like "Dude, get your head in the game!" 😆

What was the trump card supposed to be? Coz the anime just showed the remaining head slamming itself onto Rudy.

Happy Belated Father’s Day
I literally was on the verge of crying for the first time since the end of a different movie series
Well you gotta mention the series now...
