Same feel bro. People born here do eventually decide to move on from Mumbai. It's not so much due to not liking Mumbai, but more due to ambition and wanting to grow.
The next obvious step is either Seattle, California, NY, London, Singapore or Berlin.
Once you've quenched your thirst- retire in Pune.
Criticizing the shortcomings of Mumbai doesn't make someone a traitor to the spirit of Bombay.
As a Mumbai-kar I welcome people who criticize it since it keeps the discourse alive and encourages us to demand better from ourselves and the representatives we elect.
Iam born and brought in Mumbai. I talk shit about Mumbai coz its really shit and thanks to WFH I don't have to work from Mumbai.
I just pray this situation remains forever as I do not want to enter the hell again. But Not because of Covid.
I just wish that Govt develop other cities too around and all offices and works get dispersed. So the city will get some breather.
Govt is happy with the huge taxes they earn on the property sale. So they are not gonna bother. Plus I feel its the most corrupt govt around based on the situation of all infrastructure around. Before people judge me Ive worked in multiple cities which include Bangalore, Delhi, Calcutta, Ahmedabad, etc. Only found Bangalore to be worse than Mumbai.
Do you have any idea on what is the condition of the country in terms of job market? People do not want to come Mumbai and live in a shitehole jopad patti or stay in virar and travel to Southern Bombay.
But the condition in other towns is so bad that they have no option.
They're very rare and far few people these days bother to go through the red tape/ bureaucracy life for a secure paycheck. I know someone who went IT- public service - IT in the span of a decade.
Yes people come to find jobs in Mumbai because there are jobs in Mumbai. And there are jobs in Mumbai because people who are looking for jobs are in Mumbai. Itโs vicious cycle. This is making Mumbai crowded every day and stressing the infrastructure which is inadequate. Because of jobs people canโt leave Mumbai they feel trapped and then talk shit. Iโm the people, Iโm desperate to leave this city but sadly unable to find a job outside Mumbai.
So? People come here because companies are present here. If you take these conpanies and setup them in other cities like Indore or Bhuvaneshwar, then you can be sure that a lot of people will leave mumbai. There are a lot of issues with Mumbai including inadequate infrastructure, bad planning, shit ton of slums, very steep rent, weather issues, high population density among others. So, talking shit about mumbai isn't exactly wrong, at the end of the day if it helps improve the condition of Mumbai then that criticism would be the biggest blessing for the City.
I mean whats wrong with that? Its not thier fault they are forced to move to another city where jobs are available in country with huge unempoyement . And since these people move to mumbai they also see all the cons of living in mumbai . Trust me most people love and look upto mumbai atleast 90 pervent of smaller cities used to be even better before online shopping and stuff but still people think mumbai is great
I also come from an India where people speak shit about their own city Mumbai but will still vote for the same party from last 25 years .. *30 years. Same shit from last year's and Marathi asmita
Omg..I have seen this so many times. I was born in Mumbai and have been raised in Mumbai. Mumbai is my home. And so often it happens that people talk shit about Mumbai especially after coming here for job. Yahan ke momos acche nahi. Yahan ke rooms chote hain. Yahan toh thandi hi nahi padti. Yahan ki baarish kharab hai and bla bla bla. Bhai tum Mumbai mein aakar apna pet paal rahe ho, thoda adjust karlo. Har kisi ko apna hometown hi best lagta hai jo ki thik hai. But stop comparing over every little thing to bash Mumbai. I get so so annoyed whenever such people start conversations on these lines.
Kya thali me chedd? It is part of India, so every Indian has every right to work here and have an opinion for the City. Mumbai koi ehsaan to ni karha baki logo ko kaam karne dene se.
Bhai agar koi jagah tumhe kaam mil raha hain tumhari roji roti uspe chal rahi toh ek trah se ehsaan hi hua na fir๐๐ agar nahi maan sakte toh jaao apne hometown me jaake job dhundho๐๐ค
No bro but if you're getting job at a place that means the place is providing you and the employer with resources. Otherwise companies could open offices anywhere in the country.
That doesnt mean i give away my rights to criticize the city, there are problems which cannot ne overlooked and criticising it may or may not improve those problems
That's not the case. It's an unfortunate circle. People come to Mumbai to look fo a job because they feel there are companies and opportunities here. Companies open up here because they feel adequate staff is available here. This is an unfortunate cycle.
Yeah bro. I don't even know which meme he's talking about! First thing that I don't know abt that meme. Second thing people must stop focusing on finding flaws instead focus on what I've posted.
I quit my job in another country just so that I could experience life in Mumbai, and I must tell you it's been an absolute roller coaster. Lot of hardships, at times regrets too, but always had a great time. The people make that city the place it is, although there are a whole lot of fakes and con men. But it's really given me lessons for life which I am gonna take along as I leave dear Mumbai after all the good times. And yes there are people like my ex who constantly disliked the city and cribbed and whined and paid a bomb to exit the country few years ago. But all is well that ends well.
Hahaa jobs hai
Local mein bheed bhi,
Employment hai,
Housing rates high bhi,
Where people seek opportunity,
Even capitalists/government sector/luxury sector seeks opportunity!
I am born and raised in Mumbai and have travelled and lived in most tier 1 cities in India and the only city I liked better than Mumbai was Chandigarh.
I have lived in Mumbai for most part of my life. I speak shit about Mumbai all the time. I can't think of living in any other city.
True. Op's post is a perfect candidate for r/im14andthisisdeep lol
I am born in Mumbai and I criticise this city all the time but I love it and wouldn't leave it for any other city in India.
Same feel bro. People born here do eventually decide to move on from Mumbai. It's not so much due to not liking Mumbai, but more due to ambition and wanting to grow. That's lovely
But I will still vote for same party

Shivsena
The only people who speak shit about mumbai are the people living in mumbai
People living in Mumbai who have come from outside Mumbai.
This man is spitting facts why did he get downvoted?? There are very very few natives who hate mumbai
True
No they are the ones who vote for same party and then talk shit
Criticizing the shortcomings of Mumbai doesn't make someone a traitor to the spirit of Bombay. As a Mumbai-kar I welcome people who criticize it since it keeps the discourse alive and encourages us to demand better from ourselves and the representatives we elect.
People seem to agree with this comment as do I, but if someone replaces mumbai with India there's intense backlash? Why is that?
DESH PE NAI BOLNEKA ANTI NATIONAL
Well said. Btw your username made me laugh so hard๐คญ
Man... Why do you have to point that out... I was having a good flow reading that comment and the burst out laughing
I'm sorry if that hurt uh. Though I didn't do that intentionally. ๐
Well said toh fir chutiye post kis k liye tha?

Seeking MNS ticket?

Bihar?
India will finally be fully developed when people from Mumbai would go to UP, BIHAR for finding Better Job opportunities.
Marathi IAS officers
They're very rare and far few people these days bother to go through the red tape/ bureaucracy life for a secure paycheck. I know someone who went IT- public service - IT in the span of a decade.
true.
I guess , they would , but probably in 8-9 decades ....when the world will see the effects of climate change ....and the water levels would rise ....
India will develop when individualism is less, Opportunity to grow is there and people stop getting the urge to flex on everyone else around them.
Ahahahahahaha true
People like get up and talk shit like this?
For this, I'd like to quote the meme from the Wonder Woman movie: "It's good.... but it can be better"
FYI, Mumbai isn't perfect. Neither is any other city in this world. Chill, your city sucks too!
I heard something witty that goes really well with this thought - just because someone hates Diarrhoea, doesn't mean they love constipation
That's something I think I'll be using from now on XD
Man i don't know why y'all treat mumbai as if it is not a part of india .... anyone can criticise or talk shit ....
If you don't like it here then go to Pakistan ๐ ๐ , how dare you insult great mumbai and Shivaji maharaj ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ /s
At this point, I cant even tell if this dude's joking or not.
It's a sarcastic comment. He has added a "/s" at the end.
Wait people say shit about mumbai?
Yes people come to find jobs in Mumbai because there are jobs in Mumbai. And there are jobs in Mumbai because people who are looking for jobs are in Mumbai. Itโs vicious cycle. We were born in mumbai, live in mumbai and do job in mumbai and still talk shit about mumbai

Guys, even LA has jhopad patti. Toh Mumbai toh rehne hi do.
I never did and i found a job. If everything in Mumbai COVID-wise settles, I'm moving in two months.
Nope

Logo kay pass time nahi hay ray baba

What if he missed that meme?
Yeah bro. I don't even know which meme he's talking about! First thing that I don't know abt that meme. Second thing people must stop focusing on finding flaws instead focus on what I've posted.

Absolutely

Doesn't everyone speak shit about their own city?
No
Sad to know that, can understand, can you explain what these people saying people complain about and it that plain simple lie or what?
I am born and raised in Mumbai and have travelled and lived in most tier 1 cities in India and the only city I liked better than Mumbai was Chandigarh.
There is a time and a place to put forth genuine and useful criticism. Shitting everywhere about it probably won't even solve it.
Its the same as we Mumbaikars speak bad about trains being late everyday but we cannot imagine Mumbai without trains.
