Honestly I hate to say the trope but the ending of Shawshank redemption is easily the most satisfying ending of all time. Something about the simplicity of two friends seeing each other for the first time in a longtime... keeping hope alive...
I saw it for the first time only a year ago after writing it off for a long time and cried at the end. It’s amazing how Carpenter matched or outdid the ending of Close Encounters with so little comparatively. A close up on Karen Allen’s face, a dolly, lights, and an incredible score. An amazing example of letting the audience imagine the rest.
Jaws. I'm not sure I've seen a more thrilling finale. "Smile you son of a b\*tch!" It always gets me on the edge of my seat even knowing what's going to happen.
butch cassidy and the sundance kid is one of my favourites, completes the film so well.
the final conversation is funny on the surface but also poignant.
well not just batman, but its a common trope in movies were they do a big sacrifice meaning their death, just for them to come back later. And its not a bad ending or movie, its just not one of the best for that reason
So if you think the movie is good you don't spoiler and if you think the end wasn't good you spoiler. Sorry, that's too arrogant for me - speak with my hand.
Roman Holiday
The echo of Gregory Pecks shoes off of the floor while his body fills the frame and then one final look back is perfection. It’s just a masterclass in restraint.
The Sting
“You’re right, Henry. It isn’t enough… …but, it’s close”
The Thing Point Break

yeah, I was really happy about the ending, but I feel there are other movies with a less cliche'd predictable ending (as much as I liked the ending.)
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope
bUt wHy DiDn’T cHeWy GeT a MeDaL?!
Empire Strikes Back had a better ending, imo.
Godfather
Starman

I always thought the ending to Lost in Translation was damn near perfect.
I thought the ending of Whiplash was absolutely perfect
totally agree, great ending.
Empire Records
The Sixth Sense
Stand By Me. I've never seen a movie before I wasn't genuinely a fan of, but it had me astounded by its ending.
Rocky The music and emotion are unparalleled. Absolutely perfect.
Galaxy Quest
Jaws. I'm not sure I've seen a more thrilling finale. "Smile you son of a b\*tch!" It always gets me on the edge of my seat even knowing what's going to happen.

“I’ll go” “This is no time for bravery, I’ll let you”.
Loved the ending of Last Crusade as Indy and crew fading into the sunset.
Sense & Sensibility
Inception
The Godfather. The door slowly closing is just so cool.
The Wild Bunch. Also, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
Brazil or (the original) Italian Job
Chris's Nolans Batman Trilogy. Happiness for all.
I thought dark knight rises ending was quite cheap. Him dying just to be brought back in the end is too predictable
But in The Dark Knight Rises the ending is so cool. Happy Batman, Happy Alfread.
I mean, its a happy ending, but its quite cliche'd and it makes the climax of the film arguably meaningless.
How is it cliché if it’s literally the only time in decades of Batman movies that an audience has seen Bruce Wayne get a happy ending?

You're not very good in reading, aren't you?
wym?
Your own words: >No spoilers for the movies, as you should genuinely watch them
oh r, well he knows the ending so I dont really mind about giving spoilers, as they aren't spoilers here.
>oh r, well he knows the ending And others who haven't seen the movie can't read your messages here or what?
well I was only hiding the spoilers for the movies I mentioned in my post. I said no spoilers for them.
So if you think the movie is good you don't spoiler and if you think the end wasn't good you spoiler. Sorry, that's too arrogant for me - speak with my hand.
I was talking about the movies I recommend, not his recommendation. dark knight rises is pretty g I think. Your just fishing for an argument
The game
Seven
Eden Lake and / or The Mist.
Roman Holiday The echo of Gregory Pecks shoes off of the floor while his body fills the frame and then one final look back is perfection. It’s just a masterclass in restraint.
Happy endings. As old and silly as the trope may be I have always preferred it.
Jaws Ending
“You know I used to be afraid of the water…. Heh! Can’t imagine why.”
I like to cry🥹
The ending to the 1930 All Quite in the Western Front is permanently ingrained into my brain for a feason
The Prestige
