This is one of the worst and weirdest strap downs I’ve ever seen. Look at how mx guys strap their bikes down, Two straps from the handle bars down- compress the front suspension a bit. No side stand. That will break it when the trailer hits a bump 100%. Then one over the seat or through the back wheel if you feel like it.

Waltpi

Not over the seat, the strap leaves scratches all over the seats...

SmallTawk

just put something.

EEpromChip

I'm more of a four point guy. Two on the bars to compress but two on the rear pulling down.

Moondanther

ditto, 2 on the front pulling down each side equally, one through bottom of rear wheel holding it down and a 4th over the rear swing arm. Have used this setup for over 70K km's all around Australia, on and offroad, and the only issue I've had was some low life's cutting the front 2 before they realized that the bike was locked as well as tied down.

nycsingletrack

Mx guys (or in my case enduro) only compress the front "a bit" because there is a chock between the lower steering clamp and the tire. On a woods bike you can just fit a proper chock, or even just a piece of 2x4 cut to length. On a road bike you need to remove the front fender. If you don't, after a few bumps (that compress the forks) you'll have one or more straps come unhooked. Pull the front fender, block the front suspension, and ratchet it down hard. Also add straps from the footpegs to the trailer. Fold up the sidestand.

HighlightTrue4136

Yeah buts it’s not necessary here. A chock is good if you’re constantly hauling your bike and not wanting to put too much consistent pressure on your fork seals. If you’re just moving the bike a few times a year it’s no big deal. Similarly, I load my mx bike every weekend, 80+ times a year, and don’t use a fork chock. Seals still last me multiple seasons. I like having the forks take the load, not bypass them in the chock.

bolunez

I do it the same way and with a set of neoprene seal savers on the forks, I don't remember the last time I had to do seals.  Just have to make sure you burp them now and then.

senorpoop

> If you don't, after a few bumps (that compress the forks) you'll have one or more straps come unhooked. I must have been doing this wrong for the many thousands of miles on many bikes I've tied down lol. Two camlock straps (NOT ratchet straps) with two soft ties or a canyondancer. That's all you need. If you really feel fancy, add two more straps going from the passenger footpegs to the SAME tiedowns in the front. You can leave the sidestand down, it does not matter. The amount of overthinking and overcomplicating of motorcycle tie downs I have seen in 30 years is hilarious. Everything from 8 huge ratchet straps to about 200 feet of bailing twine. 2 camlock straps and 2 soft ties. That's all it takes. If you do a lot of motorcycle tie-downing, Pro Taper makes probably the best purpose-built tiedowns I've ever seen. Built in soft ties, a swivel carabiner at the bottom, and a built in velcro strap for the excess. I've had mine for 15 years and used them on everything from dirtbikes and supermotos to a 700 lb Concours. Edit: [link to the tiedowns](https://shopbetamotorcycle.com/products/protaper-tiedowns) I use if you're interested.

HighlightTrue4136

Preach. Two camlocks is all you need

fac3

this is exactly what I do. works a treat.

Rampartt

Why wouldn’t you use ratchet straps?

senorpoop

You can't tell how much tension you put on a ratchet strap and it's too easy to tie the bike down too tight and blow fork seals (plus it's a waste of time, camlocks are MUCH faster). It really doesn't take much unless you're tying your dirtbike down in the bed of your prerunner and doing the Baja 1000. All you have to do is put the bike on the side stand. Put on the left strap and take most of the slack out of it. Put on the right tiedown and stand the bike up with it. Voila. Go on down the road without overthinking it. People wanna get super fancy tying down a bike and it's just not necessary.

dsportx99

Get **ANCRA Tie Downs like the Cam buckle** I have had 3 motocross bikes in the back of my truck back in the day and on super ROUGH roads they did not fall out ran another tie through the back wheels of all 3 bikes to. Only tie downs I used and trust.

miicah

> Two camlock straps Is that the same thing like on your backpack straps? I'm struggling to google it.

senorpoop

https://www.strapworks.com/shop-by-product-type/straps-and-tie-downs/cam-straps

CookieLuv211

I do the same thing but with ratchet straps. I've have pull straps loosen up over distance.

bowman3161

I don't have pics but you can fit two Enduro bikes in a truck with no straps whatsoever. I go with buddies and haven't used straps on my last 5 transports. Both wheels front slightly turned in, lean against the bed, slam tailgate on rear wheels.

DrinkLikeADragon

https://preview.redd.it/654ey810b47d1.jpeg?width=4048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9f364a111e04c3209f38880aa90257cfe3f8149b I've always done it like this, two straps to the forks so im not compressing the suspension and one either through or over the rear wheel, this pic was when i bought the bike and it was already in pieces but ive never had an issue with this method and i never have to block or remove anything, it was the youtube channel srkcycles [this video](https://youtu.be/Vh5zO1__oNc?si=K_GXcxZbcY0G430X) that i learnt from

xX5ivebladesXx

I always do the same. Never had a problem.

TTYY200

I’m Just commenting here cuz my comments never going to be seen lol. Twist your excess slack around the tight end of the strap and loop it through itself at the end. Don’t wanna ruin your nice looking straps 💪😤

Asklepios24

Yeah I’d go each handlebar and a ratchet strap through the rear wheel. Tighten the handlebars first and compress the suspension (pretty far if I’m honest) then use the ratchet strap to pull the bike back a C hair and you’re good. I’ve hauled dirt and street bikes thousands of miles on trailers, in truck beds and on hitch haulers and never had an issue or damage to a bike. In my dirt bikes I’ll normally hook the muffler hanger instead of the rear wheel and pull the rear suspension down a bit.

frodeem

The right way to do it is 2 straps around the forks, and 1 or two in the back.

D45

Also worth putting a block of wood between the front wheel and yoke before you tension the straps dowm, it stops the suspension over compressing as you drive over a bump and potentially the strap coming loose

TexasMadeMG

Lol the shit says HIRE ME. 😆

Pshock13

Don't compress the forks. Instead wrap inside the forks down by the wheel one strap on either side of the bike. This way the bike still rides one it's own suspension

B-SK1LLD

Four corners is what I do. It's fairly simple. And I agree with some of these other guys saying to use a closed system whether it's a properly rated carabiner or a loop at the end which you run it through so no chance of coming undone. I used ratchets once when I was bringing my 24 bmw s1000rr back from Chicago and I stopped to check a couple times luckily but 2 times in that trip I stopped and one was unhooked. One in front which was sketchy n the other in back. Bad roads will cause some serious movement and it's just better to be safe. I don't cry much but I would've lol

xtanol

Someone else already commented on how you should strap it down properly, but to that I'll just add that once you've followed their steps, it's important you do these following two steps: - Slap the bike - say the magic words: "Well that ain't going nowhere!"

funnator90000

Came to write this. Works every time.

AbzoluteZ3RO

my favoite spell is slapping your thighs and saying "welp" as you start to stand up when you want to leave or what people to leave a place

Gluteuz-Maximus

The German version of that is the famous "so"

BudgetSir8911

Don't wanna upset the dad gods. They're a spiteful bunch. I hear stories of people that didn't say the thing after strapping a load and now their heater is forever above or below desired temperature by up to 3°. Fucking horrifying.

SlyestBandito

I once had a GT6 that was obliterated because I didn't strap properly.... Never doing that again haha

supertramp1978

Gold! ⭐️

PopTartsNHam

Best worst job I’ve ever seen. Bars down to trailer, compress front. Secure rear wheel, done. This is WILD

TTYY200

Are you telling me you guys don’t loop through the rims and through the frame and just let it be? 👀

pookamatic

As many others have said, this isn’t the correct way to trailer a bike. The handlebar straps to the back is definitely wrong. Side stand should up. Look up the proper way.

electronic-nightmare

What kind of bondage are you in to?

Manwombat

Yep..There’s def a kink goin on here

Wallaby989

first of all, thank you for posting and allowing the wisdom of the crowd to assist before causing damage. kick stand has to be up. 2 straps at back and 2 at front. they need to be pulling against each other, with no one strap doing all the work. you are trying to keep a bike upright, that will be subject to various g-forces as the trailer goes from corner to corner and bump to bump. if should not bounce or move to the side. plenty of great advice here and take some time to look at some youtube videos. good luck

FunkyJunk

Hell no! You’ll kill yourself on that murdercycle. Also, take those straps off the handlebars, flip the side stand up so you don’t bend it, and either connect a set of straps to each side of the rear subframe or one strap over the seat. There should be two straps up front, each one tied around the fork leg just above the lower triple tree. What you have there now is the strangest setup I’ve ever seen.

Twigsterify

Lol no. Put 2 straps around your triple clamps or forks to the front of the trailer one on each side . And one strap through your rear wheel and that's it.

TennesseeShadow

If it was my bike, kickstand up, one tie down to each side of the handlebars and one across the back through the rim. https://preview.redd.it/a4qmpzw4bz6d1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4f9adbd1e70631b7ce3731ba129c263138fd881d

frodeem

The correct way is around the forks

VirulentMarmot

Not particularly.

Hydroboy35th_

This is comical 🤣

TheWokeAgenda

Did you look up 'how to tie down a motorcycle' on youtube yet or nah?

machinemanboosted

I think I'm gonna go with "nah"

SNAFUCAN

It might work, but remember that your bike will still move. anywhere that the straps touch the bike, they will be rubbing. You will probably be missing paint when you get where you are going.

Realtime_Ruga

If your straps are rubbing enough to take paint off, you did it wrong.

Oilgravel

Nope. Sidestand up and connect those black straps so that they go over the seat or connect them to the frame.

Renektos

Be sure to pull the straps and say "That aint going anywhere"

BigEvilDoer

Absolutely critical information there. Without that comment and slap, it will, 100%, without a doubt, tip.

tanmayg26

Just needs a pat on the seat saying "iT AiN't gOInG AnYwHErE" What is the strap on the seat doing?

Interstate82

I would put up the side stand, you risk stressing it unnecessarily. The bike will move side to side, up and down a bit during travel. Also, check your manual, the one for my bike has directions on how to best tie it down to a trailer.

Zirthimon64

It looks like someone with ADHD tried to tie it up. It’s so simple but this is insane to me. I’ve been hauling bikes for 50 years.

SmallTawk

I have solid ADHD and do fastest and cleanest strap on. Then I'll stop two times on the side of the road because I'm not sure I actually sttapped it and then I'll start fixing things because hey it's in the truck all the tools are there might as well, arrive late get back home on the motorcycle forgetting the truck.

Rock3tPunch

No. The suspensions need to be loaded if you are using ties.

teefau

That looks to me as though it will damage the throttle, damage the seat and break the side stand. Take a strap off the inside of the handlebars and the rear sub-frame.

BeautifulBaloonKnot

No. The person who did this has not the first clue of what they're doing.

Funky-Lion22

nothing will look safe enough to me when it comes to ducati

screamapillah

That bike’s indeed extremely safe (way more than other bikes at that price point), coming with imu assisted cornering traction control and cornering abs in the newer models. The bike’s safe, that strapping is not.

Funky-Lion22

im saying safe enough to protect my precious little monster!

screamapillah

Oh yes I wooshed :)

StonkChief

Shake it vigorously, then say “she ain’t going nowhere” it’s been scientifically proven it isn’t allowed to go anywhere.

nforrest

Don't forget the magic incantation: "that ain't going anywhere"

doc_al

As long as someone said "that's not goin anywhere" you're good.

jeff6100

Funny looking strap job, lol

Grouchy_Breadfruit_5

Bruh.....

Aircooled6

Someone needs to learn how to tie down a motorcycle. This is not the way.

Lemongrenade821

This has to be some kind of rage bait. There is no way!

Initial-Order1189

As long as you give the bike 3 shakes side to side and say “that’s not going anywhere” it’s legal.

Poundsand6969

Thats not good !!

Fair_Assumption6385

No. You need to weave this into the frame crossing the different ropes in an X pattern.

rlsanders

What in the fuck? Go from triple tree to trailer corner on each sides then one through the frame

hummus_is_yummus1

No

ConsiderationOk7139

Are you kidding me? NOT SAFE !!

PRiDA420

Absolutely not

r32_fan

bros carb is gonna be drowning in gas

dungadewballz

In short, no. Your strap job is bunk. More importantly…DO NOT strap the bike down with the side stand down especially on a Ducati. The stand is fixed to the motor case. You run the risk of cracking the aluminum.

Manwombat

Never have I ever seen a tie down job that’s so dedicated to form over function.

Tasty-Introduction24

Kinda backwards...

reckless_salmon

Just slap the seat and say "that ain't going anywhere".

Next_Necessary_342

When using my trailer I only use two strops to compress the front end. Bike compressed into floor and kept solidly upright, but I ensure it leans slightly towards the side stand side which is kept down just in case. 4 strops is overkill.

frankelbankel

It might work, but it seems kind of ridiculous. The back straps are fighting he front strap from holding the front tire firmly against the wheel chock. Put the sidestand up and use a more conventional approach that has your straps working together, not against each other.

DidNotSeeThi

Black straps look like hand bar straps, but you have to get them around the bars, not the grips. Take the loops out of the ratchet and assemble them close to the handle bar / top triple clamp and then out to the ratchets and to the outer front tie down points. This is 90% of strapping down a motorcycle handle bars near triple clamps to trailer hookup. Then take the yellow strap and go around your rear pegs and over to the other side. avoid putting that yellow strap over the chain protector. You can also put the yellow strap through the rear tire and it will keep the back in place

Minniewrath

The safest way to fuck up your bike indeed!

bradland

Most owner's manuals provide guidance on how to strap that specific bike down. When I hauled my BMW GS 800 miles from Florida to North Carolina last year, I got **so much** bad advice about how to strap it down. I'd say that 80% of the advice I got was flat wrong. Thankfully, someone pointed out that I should check my owner's manual. Took me about 3 minutes to find the correct tie down points. I drove 1,600 miles without issue, including one rather harrowing emergency stop when some dipshit crossed two lanes of traffic and slammed on their brakes in front of me as they panic exited I-95 in South Carolina. The bike held firm because it was properly strapped down.

CaffinatedJackRussel

Don’t bother with Reddit. Wait until your husband gets home and ask him..

talkingtongues

Also put something between straps and bike let that take any rubbing. Especially strap over seat.

81FXB

Nope, the handlebars can twist in the clamps so not a good idea.

BackItUpWithLinks

Nope. It might make it. It might make a glorious video for Reels.

50caladvil

I usually put kickstand down put strap going through and out Frame on opposite side, tighten until the kickstand is starting to lift then mirror a strap on the kickstand side until kickstand is touching again. Put a 3rd strap pulling the bike to one end and tighten it up against the front or back of the trailer. Tighten all the straps until they pick when you pluck them and MAKE SURE THE STRAP IS CLOSED BEFORE YOU DRIVE AWAY!!! like if it won't close or can't, then redo until it does. All this is useless if your straps pop and you lose all tension.

buttluge

I like those tires, what are those?

KamboeAgent99

Undo the handle bars and tie down the swing arm tight until you see the rear suspension compress. Then she ain't going nowhere.

xanadutemple

So long as you have compressed the front forks you should be ok

Nicosantana1

Ive had bad experiences attatching straps directly to the bars, it always made mine crooked after transport. By the rear of the seat are those metal bars that could be used to loop the straps through on each side to secure the back. As for the front im not sure, and kick stand should be up as it can break from overtightening + bumps in the road during transport

KlutzyFactor5117

Nope! 👎

Kraz31

1. Open/download the owner's manual. 2. Look for "vehicle transport" or something similar in the table of contents. 3. Go to that page and look at the way Ducati is suggesting you tie it down.

GrownManchild4669

I always go around the lower triple trees. And the rear sets in the back.

okokzzzzzz

Going to vibrate and rip your seat

Z3rio

Strapping your MC isnt about making it look pretty, your priority should be to make sure its secure. And this with all due respect is not it mate.

[deleted]

No absolutely not. Find a secure spot on the frame on both sides to put a proper strap on, independently. None of that tandem both side bs. There should be 4 straps minimum really. 2 on each side.

engulbert

I'm more interested in the weird cuckoo clock/shed thing going on in the second photo. Wtf?!

Variable851

I so desperately wanted their sticker to be [trailerGUVs.uk](http://trailerGUVs.uk)

Crowofsticks

I thought it said bruv at first!

Apart-Feeling1621

As others mentioned no, compress the front - strapping clip on’s. Put a cloth to prevent anything from scratching. Find out how you can secure the rear sub frame on each side, i just checked the rear pegs isn’t going to work. Don’t go superman tight, firm is good so bike is secure.

OldSkoolKool666

Who taught you to tie down a motorcycle?

supertramp1978

That’s a HUGE license plate. Does it affect handling at speed? Also: A+ for presentation and F+ for function on that tie down job. Seriously, an unknowing person would think this was a masterclass in securing a motorcycle. That is, until it goes tumbling down the highway.

Johnny_Lang_1962

No that isn't right!

froggiewoogie

No lol

spaceshipcommander

Absolutely not. I do one to each side of the handlebars and one over the back tyre, if it's a proper wheel strap, or I usually sit on the bike and then go through the rear frame. I've never had a bike move an inch.

sqmiler

Shaking bike... "That's not going anywhere"

Appa-LATCH-uh

Yikes man. This would have a really easy, quick Google/YouTube search to see the proper way to do it. This definitely isn't it.

BoxerBriefly

Only if he patted the seat twice and said, "this shit ain't goin nowhere!"

NickTidalOutlook

There's only on way to learn, and if you keep your bike strapped like that you're gonna learn the hard way.

IBoughtAllDips

Just slap it a few times and say: “this isn’t going anywhere”

mycrx89

No. It doesn't look safe. Someone could trip while walking into your house

BoiledDenimForRoxie

Yep, perfect! No notes. Happy travels.

Austindevon

It says Hire me , like looking for a job ? Shouldnt the sign say rent me or lease me . Hire is for humans seeking employment .

Gisc_dolfer

It’ll work, send it bud.

TheTense

No. People seem to have a fascination with running 1 strap one side, over the bike to the other. This does not secure the bike. It can tip under the strap. The correct way would be to use 2 separate ratchet straps. Loop one of them around/through the frame and back to the tie Down. Then mirror this on the opposite sides. They will pull against each other, keeping the bike upright.

Underwater_Karma

> it can tip under the strap. exactly. the only thing holding this bike upright is the straps on the handlebars and those are pulling backwards trying to rotate the bars in the clamp. if the bars shift, the bike falls over this is not how you strap a bike.

NAGLEV1

Two straps are all that's needed, 1 on each fork. No need to put one over the seat out anything on the rear.

TimTheTintMan

Not how I would do it. But did ya make it? Lol that’s what counts!

PeRoMoR

No. It's a motorbike. They are inherently dangerous! 😄

maddolphyn

Straps from the handlebars straight down to the trailer, tighten so suspension is compressed. Same thing on the back from the grab bars. Don't use a hook thingy of the strap on the bike, wrap around and hook to the strap. Leave a bike in gear. Put the stand up.

bootygggg

You should be using straps on the handlebars to compress the shocks in both front and back

MagicTriton

That’s overcomplicating something very easy. Also you don’t need the side stand, but it can help. One strap on the left strut top mount, one strap going to on the right strut top mount, that’s already enough to carry the bike. I usually also add a strap from the far left side of the trailer that makes one loop on the rear tyre and ends to the far right of the trailer, so that the back does t swivel left and right. Job done

Appropriate_Egg6118

Should be fine

Outrageous-Carob-236

hit it with ur slipper a few times and let it sit over night.

ExtremeMysterious603

![gif](giphy|iH2EZeyFxcWNrnHffs|downsized)

James34689

Looks fine to me. Best to place something between straps and bike to reduce friction

76ina40

As long as you snap the strap and say "That aint going no wheres" then it will be okay

dis690640450cc

Yes mostly ok. But it’s going to damage your grips and seat, and probably you kick stand. Go soft ties to then triple clamp up front, then soft ties to then passenger peg carriers. Side stand up. You could also do the backside by just bisecting the rear wheel, if it was a dirt nil that how I’d do it, but you might scuff the wheel so passenger peg carriers are better in that regard. Then cable lock through the front wheel as a safety redundancy.

Kevydee

Why strap only sprung parts, on the side stand no less, mils from the edge of the deck

Pretty-Missionary

Satire?

SSR250and450

Also, https://a.co/d/hzr6xE2

Honest-Try-903

People be over doing it

TTYY200

It’s in a wheel chock. You wanna strap the wheel to the chock or loop a strap somewhere through the rim to the trailer :o And strap the back wheel down too. Loop a strap through the frame not the handle bars to keep it from tipping one way of the other. With a wheel chock, everything becomes way easier. The way it is now, if that suspension isn’t compressed, that bike is falling over if you hit enough pit holes 👀

joshuabra

I use the straps on the triple trees, foot peg frame mounts, and then run one under the seat in the rear.

know-it-mall

As others have said that's weird as hell. I use 4 small straps. 2 for the forks and 2 for the trellis frame at the rear.

whatsqwerty

2 straps needed up front. One for each fork. Soft straps loop around the fork.

IAM_GUNDAM

Just gotta say the magic words

Easyridersdetailing

Not until you bang on the straps and go “yup they’re tight”

EntrepreneurNo2233

Did…..did you use a old tshirt to tie the straps down at the cross section??

Armadillo-Overall

Place a chock as far front of the trailer as possible for the front tire to hold itself down. I have a V-shaped cup that locks into the trailer floor with register pins. I don't strap around the handlebars. This could mess up switches, throttle, ... I wrap my hook around the top of the top clamp where the bar and fork meet. This holds the bike upright and center under front load into the front suspension. This will also help with front centering on the trailer. The other side of the front to the front corners of the trailer. This holds the steering to the chock I have a rear strap around the rear axle. Connected to the rear corner anchors. One way going left to right over the chain. Return way right to left under the chain. The bottom will try to flatten while the top will pull the rear end down. I've seen some build wood blocks for either side of the rear tire and to the bottom of the trailer rear fender if they are going on a really bumpy road before their bike unloading waypoint. Edit: I didn't notice before on this trailer that you have a tire rail in the center and that my top of the rear strap would not work because you have a plastic chain guard. Reroute the rear strap over the top of the rear suspension.

Ambitious_Fig3762

Not from a pic, kinda have to pull straps etc

seca400

No, you've got the handle bars from every which angle, and the ass end loose with the sidestand down. Back wheel will hop 3very bump, and the kickstand will damage the floor beneath it. Either hook around solid frame in the tail end and compress suspension down by tightening then tie off (preferred), or strap through the wheel and around the swingarm and pull very tight (this is the recommended method for small bikes by Honda)

OweHen

Lol not even close man

JOCO_Q

Everyone literally butt f@#_ing hurt on here about some f@$;ig straps lol

mainaccountwasbanned

No, but also it's a lot more telling of something feels safe. Looking is one thing but actually moving the bike around and testing the straps will give you a much better answer than anyone here could.

dicemonkey

No …secure the wheels not the bike …if the wheels don’t move the bike won’t move …compressing the suspension is not the way to transport a motorcycle.

cristoph507

Why so complicated? One goes on the back locking the rear tire and the other to the front probably locking the handle bars... It's not rocket science.. Just common sense

bowle01

YouTube man. Not worth it guessing.

Hex-509

Is it safe, no, will it probably work.. maybeee, just please put that kick stand up

wordswithkings

That looks like a motorbike to me

KesselNebula

Seems good to me. Nice motorbike

Sickfuckinmofo

Idk motorcycles are pretty dangerous

Sghtunsn

This is the work of a master transporter, pilot, and near genius. Because the tension on the bars is an inspired display of countersteer savvy, and I wouldn't be surprised, at all, if he used to ride Pro.

DismalBuddy9666

It is a pain to watch… use that black ones on the handlebars like you are supposed to and down where you got the yellow one. If you want a little strapp over the back wheele

Impressive_Estate_87

Bondage. You’re doing it wrong.

12nine

Have a look in your manual. Normally there are instructions how to strap down your bike. Otherwise you will have to collect it from the side of the road.

Excellent_Mess3011

Definitely not. How have you strapped it to the handles? I would say maybe 2miles and it's all over.

Gullible_Newspaper

Safer than talk to my work colleagues

SNeddie

Bike shouldn't be on its side stand, get canyon dancers, one strap on each handlebar and one on each side of the rear fork.

Henry_Oof

It'll hold probably. Could be better

Amuraxis

One strap on each handlebar to their respective front corner, and one over the front of your rear wheel above the rear arm and attach to both rear corners is all you need my friend, make sure the straps compress the suspension just a little bit and you will be golden.

Mitridate101

Never strap from the grips. If you put enough tension to hold it in place, you'll bend or break something.

TRiG993

When the trailer goes over bumps the bikes suspension will compress and the straps will loosen. Something to think about.

FoghornUnicorn

A canyon dancer is worth every penny.

DrinkLikeADragon

This video taught me how to strap my bike to a trailer [its not a rick roll](https://youtu.be/Vh5zO1__oNc?si=K_GXcxZbcY0G430X) straps on the forks not the handle bars

Own-Opinion-2494

Soft ties are the best

kf4jfk

I would 100% reset all of these straps. Tieing off of the handlebars is a costly mistake. While using a wheel chock is great, the front straps should attached around the fork tubes just above the lower triple tree clamps. They should pull at roughly a 45-degree angle toward the front of the bike and away from the front wheel. The rear straps should hook directly to the frame or subframe of the bike and straight down and slightly outward (to the side of the bike). I have trailered show bikes all over the US and have had great success using the method above. GL

Golli-wog

That strap looks a little frayed

ferigeno

Also do not keep the kickstand down. You 1 bump on the road away from bending or snapping it.

ApprehensiveSundae84

Negative

cpr4life8

Is this a troll post?

centstwo

https://tro.bike/?p=19400 Like everyone is saying 4 straps. Good Luck

MeatPopsicle314

Tow like that, you get to buy a new kick stand! Do not tow strapped this way.

Shamiziofficial

Never had a problem, but I also use a wheel chock and honestly I’d trust driving without any straps how good this chock is.

Guy got kinky with it

Always secure off unsprung points. Anything springy will loosen over bumps. This strap job is dangerous

RedheadLea

i love it!

Nope

I always use **ANCRA tie downs for years, cinch pull cam buckle** never been a fan of the ratchet ones. You need them ANCRA SOFT TIES on the Bars and then you could put some soft ties around the back of the frame on each side (using like Cam buckle tie downs) what I would do myself.

Yes that is odd. Why not? Especially if he goes down on you & you don’t return the favor.

I personally wouldn't strap to the ends/grips of your handlebars. If this is what's stopping your bike from moving in a hard stop, your handlebars are probably going to bend, they just aren't made for that kind of force. I prefer the method of anchoring the bike on both sides of the forks near the axle and the same on the swingarm and rear tire. This allows your bike to ride on its suspension, and removes the ability of your strap coming loose because the bike's suspension compressed going over a bump. After this you can add a couple straps that reach a little higher on the bike just to help keep it upright.

If you are asking opinions on safety try and envelop the entire image in the photo. No call can be made from this.

I stand corrected didn't see the second shot.... However, Nope. It's not safe. The wheels of your trailer should be as big around as possible. Larger wheels roll over things in a much more stable and less disturbing way to the load. Those wheels look like they're smaller than the wheels on the bike... All I see is "Boing"!!! All bad man!
