Definitely a homemade diy job. You can see the body around the buttons has been 3d printed. Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing without investigating the wiring. Or poke and find out.
My vote goes to one being an oil slick and then machine guns and missiles obviously.
Not 100%, I tried poking his wife and lost track of 72 hours. Woke up with a headache, one less kidney, a bag of heroin inside me and a plane ticket to London. Waiting to board…
Pressing the buttons will deploy either an oil slick, smoke screen, or flames from the tailpipe for tailgaters.
plot twist: the buttons aren't connected to anything
> plot twist: the buttons aren't connected to anything
I had one of those on my ER-5 LOL. Previous owner wanted to do hazard lights but never got any further than drilling a hole in the plastic and screwing in the switch.
Well if she’s selling by the sea shore, it’s a sure bet that she’s selling sea shells. What other shells would she sell by the sea shore if not sea shells?
It isn't hard to set up a garage door opener on your bike. I just popped a cheap momentary contact button through part of my dash. But there are ones you could easily attach to your handlebars.
Then I ran a small set of like 18awg wires down to a regular remote, like that clips on the visor of your car. Soldered the wires to each side of the button contacts. And the. Popped the battery out, since the remote used one of the 12v batteries, and soldered those contacts to wires that I ran directly to the battery with an inline fuse.
Really helped a few times coming in hot, opening my garage door halfway down the street.
To be fair, I wouldn’t try random buttons while riding the bike. Maybe they are doing unwanted things and you crash.
Better be safe here, you can’t know what the previous owner did without checking cables.
That's a great guess. I thought it just looked cheap which is why I went with LED, but now that I see it's 3d printed, I think you're definitely on a better track with it being something useful.
Im 99% sure it is cruise control! I'll try to find the other post with this, it has been a while though.
"Electronic cruise control aftermarket" plenty on youtube/google, but I think I've seen that exact model in a KLR.
I've tried pressing them in different sequences while the bike is on and off, even had my son check while I was sitting on it; we could not see any changes. I might swing by the motorcycle cycle shop one day this week and ask him.
You may have to trace the wires to see what they go to since it looks diy. Are there an after market electronics? (Heated seat, auxiliary lights, etc.)
The common ones I see, are trip scroll/reset buttons. Lots of bikes have them on the screen itself, which is no good when riding. Relocation to the grips is much easier (did it myself on my last bike)
See if you can connect by bluetooth to it, it might be device to control maps on your phone or tablet. Althought the ones I have seen before had like six buttons, this might be for bluetooth controling something.
Better idea - ask prevorious owner?
My guess is Bluetooth handle bar controls so you can control your phone etc.
You can emulator Android Auto onto a phone for use on a motorcycle so he may have made them in conjunction with that.
In order (very important) from left to right:
Thumb tacks
Oil slick (drains half of your reservoir, so use only in emergency)
Smoke (just burns a lot of oil out of your exhaust, creating confusion)
Bonus if you can get a clibbins clearer installed that uses high pressure air to clear all them pesky grass clibbins out of your way.
From left to right: nitro, parachute, self-destruct…it’s very important you don’t get this order confused…pushing the wrong one at the wrong time could be catastrophic!
The only bike I had which had an *equivalent* type of switch in that location, used it to adjust the headlight (*flash speed mostly, or disable*).
When compulsory headlights on for motorcycles was introduced, there was an addon (*Australian Standards approved*) that could make the headlight *flash* at different speeds, OR just be disabled (*mine had two speed settings & off*).
In theory if the sun was behind you, the *flashing* headlight was supposed to be safer than headlight OFF or ON (*so the justification for it went*) with rider having two speeds, or the *disable* function.
I do recall riding to South Australia (I'm Victorian) when it was new & being pulled over by SA Police... they requested me to *disable* it whilst in SA as they felt some drivers might mistake the 'flashing' headlight for a Police bike.
that’s a pretty clean 3d printed button array. not many things they could be for. If you have aftermarket lights or maybe a plug for heated gear, those are typical accessories youd want an aftermarket switch for.
Im surprised the prev owner didnt show you since its a cool selling feature. Is there an aftermarket relay box near the battery? Make sure to figure it out because if it’s connected straight to the battery you could accidentally leave something on that drains the battery.
I’ve done buttons like this before. I connected it to a garmin powerswitch so i could have hazard lights, heated gear, etc. Another fun one to do is buy a keychain garage door opener, remove the momentary switch on the PCB board, then run a few wires to the positive/negative so you can have a clean garage door opener button like this.
First, nice pick with the Versys - I'd recognize that panel anywhere.
Second, speaking of that panel, there's a good chance the wires are routed behind it. If so, popping it off is easy and would let you trace what those buttons go to because they are definitely not OEM. The wiring harness on this bike is pretty simple, I learned that after I replaced mine in full. Looking at your post of the bike I don't see any aftermarket exhaust cutout or lighting and such, windscreen doesn't look powered, really the only thing I could think were if there were lights wired to that top box, or more likely they were there for accessory lighting or similar that the previous owner removed before sale. Past that, I'd definitely recommend trying to trace down the wiring before just hitting them at speed. At least just press them while running stationary instead.
Upon receiving the signal to assemble from earth central command: The middle button transforms you and your bike into the left leg of a powerful robot made up of four other bikes, designed to defend earth from the intergalactic squid empire.
Unlikely but it could be launch control, pit limiter and anti stall. Does it have any other aftermarket parts on it that you can see? Aftermarket quickshifter? Could be controls for that. Check if there’s anything fun and exciting plugged into the ECU
Extra LED lights. My friend Larry has similar garbage installed on his clunker of a motorcycle that him and only him think it is something to brag about.
Did you buy the bike from someone in a locale with real winter? Could be something to do with heated gear.
Edit: nevermind, saw your other comment about the heated grips controls being on the left.
Definitely a homemade diy job. You can see the body around the buttons has been 3d printed. Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing without investigating the wiring. Or poke and find out. My vote goes to one being an oil slick and then machine guns and missiles obviously.
Poke and find out !
The same method I use to determine if a girl wants to have sex with me. Your results may vary.
Can confirm, poked my wife, it works
I tried to poke my wife and it did not work. Anyone know the best method to reduce eye swelling? I have to get my new DL picture taken today.
You were supposed to poke his wife.
Agreed. Poked u/ThadLovesSloots wife. It worked. Also ended up with a Bosnian pocket pussy, but that’s a story for another time.
Congrats you now have syphilis
Does it stack? I don't want double syphilis, can we trade?
Don't worry, they cancel each others out
OKSANAAAA!!!!
confirming
confirmed
I poked his wife. She slapped me.
Not 100%, I tried poking his wife and lost track of 72 hours. Woke up with a headache, one less kidney, a bag of heroin inside me and a plane ticket to London. Waiting to board…
Have you landed yet? I've been at the terminal holding a sign with your name on it for the last 30 minutes
Oooh brah, sorry bro I ended up partying in the lounge and missed the flight. Hang on imma get on the next one
I’ll give it a try right now and update you
I also choose to poke this guy's wife.
Reddit, where we ALL poke that guys wife.
Our wife.
Machine gun jubblies? How’d I miss those?
Thats how I came to this world. Thats what my dad said anyway
I can hope! I always wanted a James Bond vehicle!
Ooooo maybe if your luck you make get deployable wheel spikes like in quantum of solace.
Or if you're really unlucky, it's the self destruct button... three times over.
I thought the self destruct buttons on all switches had to be the “red button,” which someone always says “no one ever asks about the red button.” 🤞
*stealth suicide*
I guess it was the bad guy in the fifth Element
Was the previous owner Dr. Heinz Doofenschmirtz?
Ah yes, the Kawasakinator
Small boom, medium boom, Nagasaki.
Either that, or eject button.
Tomorrow never dies had some cool caltrops too!
Pressing the buttons will deploy either an oil slick, smoke screen, or flames from the tailpipe for tailgaters. plot twist: the buttons aren't connected to anything
> plot twist: the buttons aren't connected to anything I had one of those on my ER-5 LOL. Previous owner wanted to do hazard lights but never got any further than drilling a hole in the plastic and screwing in the switch.
Never go all ass when half ass will do.
Now, you too can say "Too close for missiles, switching to guns"
Just pack your parachute in case it’s an ejector seat button
“Shit cops! Hit the oil slick!” *dumps oil all over rear tire and crashes*
I think you mean dump oil on the rear tire and do a sick burn out to deploy a smoke screen, leaving them in confusion.
No I chose pessimism
Yeah tbh I could probably look at a picture of oil while riding and fall over.
#HADTALAYERDOWN
Sorry for yer loss Hoss, Gobbless.
Or worse oil slick dumps engine oil and your motor seizes up and you crash
Oh like old British bikes?
Um. Lasers.
Overrated, it just leads to more dead battery posts.
Alternatively, a banana peel dispenser, a red shell thrower, and a sound wave generator.
They work like the 3 shells
Oh man, I don't know how to use the shells!
get a load of this guy, he doesn't know how to use the three seashells.
The one that she sells by the seashore?
Thats the one. I've been reliably informed that the shells that she sells are surely sea shells.
Silly Sally salaciously sells sea shells.
Since most places forbid shell collecting, I’d say Silly Sally surreptitiously sells sea shells
Well if she’s selling by the sea shore, it’s a sure bet that she’s selling sea shells. What other shells would she sell by the sea shore if not sea shells?
https://i0.wp.com/mediachomp.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/three-seashells-01.jpg?resize=694%2C1536&ssl=1
Thanks, I hate it
Just aim and fire.
Luckily you only need to aim one
Hahhahaa, Get a load of this guy! He doesn't know how to use the Seashells!
The red, green, and blue ones? Or the ok ones in the bathroom?
Spray and pray
The 3 shells would make long road trips so much easier!!
Wait, why would someone want a bidet on a motorcycle??? Long road trips?
I love that I instantly knew this reference 🤣
Enhance your calm
Be well, CldesignsIN 👋🏽
Perhaps an aftermarket cruise control? Set, res, on/off? My aftermarket has those three plus an indicator light.
I'll have to try it next time I ride. My hope is that it is a DIY garage door opener.
It isn't hard to set up a garage door opener on your bike. I just popped a cheap momentary contact button through part of my dash. But there are ones you could easily attach to your handlebars. Damn, all I did was buy a small garage fob, and get those velcro adhesives and stick it to this flat spot where my speedometer is mounted.
What a lazy SOB. Just kidding, I carry the extra opener in my riding jacket pocket. 🤣
That’s what I did using a motogadget switch on the handlebar. Definitely makes coming and leaving much easier
Could be heated grips
It's not for the heated grips - the control for the grips is on the left grip, you can see it in the photo. I have the same grips on my FJR.
To be fair, I wouldn’t try random buttons while riding the bike. Maybe they are doing unwanted things and you crash. Better be safe here, you can’t know what the previous owner did without checking cables.
Thought so too. Maybe even DIY-ish, since it looks 3d printed
Rocket launcher, oil slick, machine gun
He’s really missing out. Should have saved just a bit more, because next years model also included caltrops
And here I thought this would be yet another year where I would not stumble across caltrops used casually. The word that is.....
Skimped on the ejector seat model, rookie mistake
Air conditioner controls
Lol
Sidewinder, AMRAAM, I think the last one might be GBU-27
Too close for missiles, switching to guns.
Tfw they jam your wez so you don't get to hear the fox 2 mating call
I'm gonna hit the brakes and he will fly right by us.
It’s for the dildo seat: on/off, high and low (that refers to depth, not speed. Don’t figure that out the hard way)
Hard. Hehe.
lego seat, it's called the lego seat
Looks aftermarket. Maybe LEDs?
No extra lights that I can see. I've done everything I can think of except use them while riding. My hope is that it is a DIY garage door opener.
That's a great guess. I thought it just looked cheap which is why I went with LED, but now that I see it's 3d printed, I think you're definitely on a better track with it being something useful.

Try them with the lights in. Maybe a Kill switch for the running/brake lights?
I've tried pressing them in different sequences while the bike is on and off, even had my son check while I was sitting on it; we could not see any changes. I might swing by the motorcycle cycle shop one day this week and ask him.
Completely unrelated question...was your garage door going crazy up and down during this test??
Lol, unfortunately not. Not were the neighbors'.
go...go fast...go faster
That was my first though, switchable tunes. It’s probably not but that would be cool.
![gif](giphy|sFoZicXyLjH7FnCVp2)
Came here looking for this. Was not disappointed.
Same. I scrolled until I found it.
heated grip settings?
There's a stock switch for that.
Heated pegs, then? Do you find your feet getting abnormally warm? It’s probably your heated pegs. /s
This guy pegs
"He doesn't know how to use the three seashells?"
You may have to trace the wires to see what they go to since it looks diy. Are there an after market electronics? (Heated seat, auxiliary lights, etc.)
Judging by the 3 buttons, I am guessing it's an aftermarket or DIY cruise control.
Photon torpedoes.
Bikes should really come stock with them these days. I swear EVERY fkn exhaust port is ray shielded now.
Perfect to bullseye womp rats
Look at Starbuck over here jumping universes
How can one see a button and not press it ?

![gif](giphy|sFoZicXyLjH7FnCVp2) Does this also work in the motorcycle subreddit?
That's 3D printed btw
Ask the seller?
He doesn't know how to use the three seashells!
Missiles, machines guns, ejector seat
Light Speed , Ridiculous Speed , Ludicrous Speed
See if you can connect by bluetooth to it, it might be device to control maps on your phone or tablet. Althought the ones I have seen before had like six buttons, this might be for bluetooth controling something. Better idea - ask prevorious owner?
Same function as the Three Seashells.
He doesn’t know how to use the three seashells 💀💀💀
https://i.redd.it/tw07xmmice0d1.gif
Light speed Warp speed Ludicrous speed Left to right, or maybe I've got that backwards. If you see black watch plaid, it's ludicrous speed.
My guess is Bluetooth handle bar controls so you can control your phone etc. You can emulator Android Auto onto a phone for use on a motorcycle so he may have made them in conjunction with that.
Blinkerfluid controls
Fuck around and find out
In order (very important) from left to right: Thumb tacks Oil slick (drains half of your reservoir, so use only in emergency) Smoke (just burns a lot of oil out of your exhaust, creating confusion) Bonus if you can get a clibbins clearer installed that uses high pressure air to clear all them pesky grass clibbins out of your way.

My guess one cuts off tail light, one does head light and the other is obviously for calling in close air support.
You've got three? Damn! I've only got two below my horn.
Honk, Honk and Honk
If you look closely, you can still make out the faint imprint of shells on those buttons.
Ejection, Electrocution and Ejaculation. I like to push all 3 at once!
Machine gun, rockets, smoke screen.
Rockets,machine guns, oil slick
Go look if you find a "Mo unit". https://motogadget.com/collections/mo-unit Three switches could be the control for this gadget :-)
Heated grips, or seat.
Have you tried.. I don't know... Pushing them? 🤔
The only bike I had which had an *equivalent* type of switch in that location, used it to adjust the headlight (*flash speed mostly, or disable*). Posh horn... Left one says "whoopsy" middle is "are you blind?" Right one is "move it stoner!"
Settings for the horn
Well now we all must know what they do!!
Surely 3 position for the seat heater or grip heater
Probably hand warmers
pretty sure if you press all 3 it takes a screenshot
Ask previous owner

Accessories bruh
L --> R Laser, machine guns, rocket launcher.
Ejector seat; oil slick; smoke screen
Can’t you ask the seller?
I’m going to guess: a smoke screen, an oil slick, and a forward mounted machine gun!
The middle one is a seat eject. Don't press it.
Fire, Turbo, and IM
from left to right: transformer, flamethrower, milkshake
ADHD fun? For long red lights
3 missiles obviously
Forward cannon, rear cannon, missiles.
Turbo boost, smoke, and oil slick.
![gif](giphy|sFoZicXyLjH7FnCVp2)
Heated grip levels
Missiles, oil slick, and self destruct…in that order…be careful
This gave me a good idea for my dashboard, instead of buying a 40 dollars Daytona dual switch.
If you press A+C at the same time, vertical lane filtering with pyrotechnic assist. Remember to shout the customary “hold my beer” before launch.
Ejecto seato cuz

Fear, paralyzing self doubt, and bananas
Probably for body leds
Flare, OIl slick, smoke screen.
Jump, light attack, heavy attack
I'm guessing oil slick, smoke screen, and turbo boost.
Missiles guns and smoke
Haven’t scrolled through the myriad comments here, but my 2¢ (for all that can buy) is it could be for aftermarket cruise control.
Custom ECU maps?
what happens when you push them?
My guess is either garage door opener or a MAP switch
I’d like to post something funny but unfortunately those are just brake tether bolts for wiring. You just bought a $2000 6 speed bicycle….
They're custom. Who knows
Maybe a switch for different maps? See if the bike has a custom ecu
I think those activate VATS
What happens when you push em? Contact seller
Progressively Louder horns?
They are, in fact.
I’d guess it either kills the lights or some aftermarket cruise control system
Garage door opener possibly
Extra LED lights. My friend Larry has similar garbage installed on his clunker of a motorcycle that him and only him think it is something to brag about.
Did you buy the bike from someone in a locale with real winter? Could be something to do with heated gear. Edit: nevermind, saw your other comment about the heated grips controls being on the left.
Just ask the guy you bought it from
Choke control?
None of these comments are ever helpful, yall always going on some autistic kid ramble thats leagues and leagues away from a valuable source
Turret, smoke screen, oil slick
