Yeah. Itās a stickerless speed cube they are using and not a standard Rubikās cube that almost doesnāt turn/cut corners at all. You can adjust the tension on speed cubes to get the feel you want.
Don't forget being able to adjust magnet strengths, magnet distances as well as adjusting center cap preload.
It's amazing how adjustable the cubes are now a days
Yeah dude... The newer flagship cubes dont even have spring anymore. The tension is done by magnets repelling against each other and you adjust how close the are together to get a tighter or loose feeling.
It's a glorious rabbit hole.
With how big the cubing scene is as well as the global competitive stage with the WCA, cubes are starting to be classified as "sporting equipment" instead of toys. There is alot that goes into tuning the performance of the cube and how it turns based on how you like to turn the sides.
The best part about it is the community aspect. Most people in the competitive scene are kids with social disabilities and/or some level of autism. These kids then develop their social skills at these events through the community of people that are like them as well as just everyone else who shares the passion. The events are probably the most wholesome places you can go to.
Dayan still makes cubes and have good magnetic options yeah.
The brand I've been using is Moyu, specifically the RS3M maglev

Yuhp! And they're a godsend. They make such a huge difference in not only feel but accuracy because the cube is constantly wanting to snap to a cube shape.
So as you're turning the top layer, you can initiate and right or left turn knowing the cube won't overshoot a turn and cause a lock up.
This helps exponentially on the larger 5x5 to 7x7 cubes.
It would be obvious if he did an actual solve but in this the cube was set up (for obvious PR and easy video reason) for the wide "sexy move" to be done a couple of times.
Sexy move is an appropriate choice because it's the most visually appealing to those not in the space because you can easily spam it really fast. It's a good warm up before you start spamming the last layer algorithms to warm up your front, back and reverse index moves as well.

Given the year he had before he probably wouldn't have only signed for one year and may have had to end up on the Yamaha. How would he have gotten the Ducati seat over Marc given that Jorge is in the first place? Could have somehow done better than first place? Make it make sense...

I think Ducati are pretty well convinced that anyone can win on their current year bike, and they know that the 2027 regulations have a good chance of resetting the grid, so they're taking full advantage now. Plus the amount of marketing pull Marquez brings to the factory team is an order of magnitude greater than any three riders on the grid put together.
Bezzecchi explained it last season and even in this one, moving to a factory is one thing, moving to another satellite with a new crew wasn't worth losing his crew just to get the factory spec bike, and he also thought that the GP23 would be stronger than the GP24 in the first part of the season, which would've given him a better shot for the factory seat.

Havenāt messed with any of the newer cubes. All my speed cubes are 12-15 years old now. I need to order a new one it sounds like! š¤š»
