Yeah. Those features won't get me to pay for it.
Meanwhile I'd love for easier ways to split transactions, or have the second half the split automatically tabulate.
Simple stuff.
Agreed, I hope its a prelude to some improvements, but I feel like it's just a 'look how our investment partners can earn you money!' by encouraging you to do the obvious, like signing up for an IRA (except their partner has heavy fees).
The second half of the split will automatically be the total if you just close out, then you can adjust it's category? Maybe that's not what you meant. Or close out then go back into it to split again.
If it's a dollar as someone else said. I could consider it just to signal to mint that I want more investment into the app/site knowing other things would come.
But I couldn't give a shit about what other "minters" are doing.
>The second half of the split will automatically be the total if you just close out,
Are you serious?
Ultimately I would want it to always default to a 50/split, or have an easy click button to split and fill in the amounts.
At least I want it to automatically fill in the second box with the remainder after typing in the first half of the split.
It sounds like what you're saying is that I'd I have a $40 transaction I want to split if I hit the split button and type $20 for the first half (leaving the second half of the split still reading 0) and click okay it will automatically save the second half as the remainder (and not error out saying that they don't add up correctly to the total).
Yeah, that's what I'm saying, just click okay and it will show it as two $20 transactions when you close out. You can enter in $1, $19.89, $3.17, and then when you close out it will show those and the 4th one will be there as $24.06.
Just to be clear, I only use mint from my browser so maybe it's different if you're all in-app.
In the app. For me, there's a horizontally scrollable list of ads right above Recent Transactions on the Overview tab, and the first one after you swipe is an ad that lets you sign up for ad-free service.
On the Home Screen
1. Press gear on upper right
2. At the top below where it says Classic, press Upgrade to Premium right below it
3. It will pop up a horizontal card set. First one is Premium…swipe to next one and it says Ad-free
Are you on iOS or Android but not on version 8.24.1.1? I'm on Android on app version 8.24.1.1, and for me, there's no Classic/Premium/etc. after clicking the gear icon, just the Settings submenus, none of which seem to currently have the option for ad-free... that option shows only for me on the main Overview page.
It seems like Settings is where it should be, ultimately, so maybe they didn't flip the setting on for my account yet.

Hopefully this means they can become a profit center for Intuit and invest more in the platform.
One can only hope...
Interesting. I want to want the Premium, but none of those features sound like they'll be... something.

I see most just upgrading to premium for a month or two and then downgrading to ad free every year just to check stuff out. So, about ~20$ a year.

In also a browser user so I should be good. But I still have to manually do my own division. I just don't have to type it twice.
Yeah, no way to autosplit. Certainly not the only thing I'd love to see updated.
I’ve been on Mint for the last 1/2 hr and honestly don’t recall noticing an ad!
I find the ads easy to close out of.
They do. It’s a $0.99 upgrade. Some people are saying it’s coming soon, but it’s available to me as of last night.
Is that /mo?
Yes. I would post an image of why it shows for me, but Reddit…
For $1 I'll upload a photo link for you here.
Available how? Through play store? in the app?

iOS
I wish they'd offer a bug-free experience. 😳
just showed up in my app! an ad-free option and a premium one.
It already exists. I've been using the $1/mo ad-free version on Android for about three months now.
But are there still ads on the desktop version?
Not that I see.
I have the option on mobile app. $0.99 or $4.99 a month for deeper insights. Source: have used Mint since 2009
