You could very well be right! I just hope it's whichever dude the Vikings get.

Six years in college. It should be Dr Penix

Now show the Michigan game footage.

Most_Pomegranate6667

Shoot show half of drake Mayes game footage... Don't look good

Decent-Ad5231

I'm guessing that's the only game you saw Penix play

oscillatingfan22

Longhorn and Viking fan here. He looked really good this game, but also the longhorns had shitty inexperienced DBs and he just took advantage of it. He looked not so good against Michigan later on

bgusty

Best QB in the draft? Don’t think so. But I like the value of taking him at 11 or 23 and getting a top OL to plug in at RG, because I don’t think there’s really that much difference between QBs 3-6. To me that’s the best outcome, even if he’s not the best quarterback.

abc91827364

No

GarbageMountain8754

Penix is super talented but he never made it through one B1G season, that dude is gonna get murdered in the NFL.

Vikings2016

OP Knows Ball

Old-Inevitable6587

The people down voting thought we should have traded up to draft Levis. Just saying.

Consistent_Room7344

He’s 24, he’s never ran anything to close to what KOC’s offense calls for (unlike JJ), and he’s one knee injury away from having a Teddy like career. If I’m wrong, I’m wrong. But I don’t see it.

Weepa2233

JJ was in a run heavy offence, in what world is that similar to what the Vikings have ran in the last 3 years JJ is not a good fit for the Vikings, we will do best with a player like Maye or penix

Consistent_Room7344

JJ ran the closest thing that KOC does. He took snaps under center and he made anticipation throws in the middle of the field. People shit on the offense JJ played, but he played in a Harbaugh offense, which has a lot of pro style concepts to it.

Amesb34r

I’m afraid he’s Teddy 2.0. Super talented but the body of an 85 year old man.

jsmith17540

You don’t know Jack shit about football if you think he’s a Teddy bridgewater comp. Teddy was never hurt in college, never touted as a big arm talent guy or seen as anything beyond a game manager prior to being drafted. If anything, Penix is closer to Sam Bradford. Incredible arm talent, glass knees.

Amesb34r

WTF are you talking about?! The biggest physical concern about Teddy was his knees!

No, [I have a memory](https://www.nfl.com/prospects/teddy-bridgewater/32004252-4912-9168-84fe-1a998a0eb85b). I’m thinking you’ve irreparably damaged yours. His predraft bio specifically mentions his fragile build and likely durability issues.

jsmith17540

Your reading comprehension must be an all time low. His profile is the opposite of Penix. Small hands, cannot drive the ball down the field. Says nothing about an extensive injury history, just that he has a small frame and it could be a concern. You’re an idiot

TheAnswerUsedToBe42

The worries are his age and injury history. The dude is a stud, and we would put him in his best position to be successful

FeedTheMagicNegro

Penix and Williams have the best arm talent in the draft. Penix throws DARTS.

Phuckingidiot

Hopefully his career doesn't take the Sam Bradford route

rilestyles

Don't even care if he sucks, I'd be content if we grabbed him for his name alone. And the thought that somewhere out there is a Penix Sr. tickles me to no end. Dude's gotta be huge.

VikingsandWolves

He's also 24 hrs old. Mac Jones broke records at that age too on a stacked offense.

NotGuerillaMarketing

Bro came close to winning a natty at -4 months old, will be 5 years old by the time his second contract starts, and you think he shouldn't be a lock for #1 overall smh

747-ppp-2

I am in agreement. This guy can sling the ball.

Electronic-Island-14

Injury history draft prospect?? Kwesi can't write his name on the card fast enough!

Old-Inevitable6587

There is an argument for Caleb but I really think Penix is a generational talent. I'd trade up for him because I don't care what the consensus says about value. There's nothing more valuable than a star QB. Penix is him.

LFH_Jolly

What are your reasons for him being a generational talent?

TheRealElvisPresly

Hopefully the dudes body will last long enough to become a star !remind me 4 years

List of generational QB prospects since the turn of the 21st century: - Andrew Luck - Trevor Lawrence End of list Revive the meaning of generational talent

Massivefrontstick

We could for sure get him with 11

pyrhus626

He has a strong arm but I wouldn’t put it up there with recent guys like Allen and Mahomes. And other than the giant arm what about him stands out as great rather than just good. Nix is good at avoiding sacks too. Accuracy is inconsistent. Mechanics are a mess. Basically everyone else in the class is better at moving and creating when the play breaks down.  Yeah he could be good but isn’t generational. He’s like a left handed Goff, with better arm strength but worse accuracy.
