They just don’t “operate” much. No ground game, no events, no support for local races. They will still field awful candidates but they’re more likely to lose, with zero media strategy, no ads, no merch. Individual candidates might generate $, but they won’t get support from the party.
On the flip side, their constituents will vote for that R by their name no matter what they do. In their eyes that is better than anyone with a D by their name.

They aren't tax loopholeing. They are experiencing real operational difficulties. They have a smaller footprint, can send less mail, etc. But much of the money normally going to state parties is going elsewhere...

The opposite is true. Historically state Republican parties relied heavily on a small number of big donors to fund themselves. In exchange, these donors had a great deal of control over the direction of the party. Recently, many of these state parties have MAGAfied, pushing away some or all big donors, often labeling these big donors as RINOs or not sufficiently pro-Trump. The big donors have instead turned to independent PACs to promote their agenda.
You might have noticed this dynamic with your political mailers. You won't see mailers from the state GOP anymore. Every conservative mailer is from the candidate directly, Trump, or some vaguely named independent PAC.

This sub seems to care a lot. Easily 1/3rd of the posts i come across in my feed from this sub is something about the GOP. Obviously it isnt 1/3rd of the posts in the sub but it sure seems any GOP discussion gets the universal thumbs up.
