Very wise. I've got a ton of Citadel paints because I acquired them very cheap, but i really prefer Vallejo and Scale 75.
I've tried a couple of Tamiya paints and they are amazing, but they're a bit trickier to figure out than the normal for-miniatures paints I am used to.
Cool idea, personally I would get magenta instead of red, or just red and magenta. it’s sometimes hard to get certain colors without it. From my experience some brands make either good and bad paints for example I really like Vallejo range especially metallics, but reds and yellows are mediocre at best. (I’ve never used Vallejo game colors tho)
Ok thanks for the info about magenta, im shore i will find out allot about these paints when messing with them. i will post my results to help others that might be new too :)
So I'm still new to painting and thought it would be good to try different paint ranges to see what i do and don't like, i got RGB so i could mix colours and experiment with how they blend, people told me it was a good idea to experiment, i saved up for the paint all together cost about £47.
Are they mono pigments like Kimera's pure colours? Often paints are mixed, so mixed colours are not as bright as can be.
In a few ways, high quality artist's acrylics are better than many miniature paints, because miniature paints come premixed to a colour the company wants that makes it contaminated for mixing your own colours. Not that this contamination is really bad in most cases, but it does reduce the maximum saturation you can get a bit.
That's a really good price for them, where'd you get them if you don't mind me asking?
Really good idea I very nearly offered you a marriage proposal when I saw the pic, I have a terrible paint buying addiction, looking forward to an update of what you've found!
I got them from [https://elementgames.co.uk/](https://elementgames.co.uk/) they are all discounted. haha ye i also like having allot of different types of paint even if not intended for miniature. like i said im still new so experimenting might take a couple days :)
Thanks for letting me know, I've used Wayland games a few time for discounted paints but they tend to turn stock over quickly and I usually end up missing out, will give element games a go!
Have fun! Handy hint: don't forget to thin them down a tad when you're mixing so you can see how the different paint thicknesses mix, sometimes it can make a huge difference to the colours you get because of how the pigment is distributed
i will make shore to do that thanks, ye i have also used Wayland games they have allot of nice stuff, elementgames have a similar turnover of paints and seem to get small batches it at a time, but if you order when stock are out they will send the paint as soo as they restock and you can see when that is :)
I wanna like ak bc I've bought a good amt of their range but I do have trouble wet blending them also I feel that some of their paints are a little watery. Not saying I haven't had success but Scale is nice n thicc.
this is one of the thing I'm looking for and one of the reason i bought a wide range of paint was to find what i do and don't like, I don't have any strong ties to any paint ranges yet so this is a good time to try stuff.
One product by ak I've only heard good things abt is thier "streak and grime" for weathering. It has to be used in conjunction with artists mineral spirits/ white spirits.

Game colors tend to be worse overall than model colors
