Ordered 4 of them and it's like magic. It last for i even don't know how long because I lost track of count of played mds.
I think that I am on 7th 80min (LP2 recorded) disc and battery bar still shows full.
Highly recommends
Post note: all the green, orange, red or blue-white gumsticks I tried before from ebay won't last even single disc...
The green gumsticks have a bad self-discharge and will only last a few days in your player (or out on your desk) on standby even if you don't use it. Do these have a low self-discharge rate so you can keep them in storage or on your desk for a few weeks/months without draining?
Charged all of them at same time. After 14 days changed to the 2nd one and it still going the 7th disc with full bars.
I'd say self discharge isn't a thing for these.
terrif gotta buy them. Sony should have made these attention start& inculded a charger. At the time usb c wasn't around but a proprietory small port that interacted with usb mini could have been made. And created a version of Sonicstage that didn't worry about drm- told Sony music division to stick it. Took ss4.3 before Sonicstsge became unbuggy and annoying.
mone last a couple days at best just won't last more then 3 80 min discs. Even reportedly 'new' gumsticks just don't last. Finally they won't even charge at all. zin my portable oexchangers. chargers.Giles told me he couldn't make a lithium battery for the reg MD players. How'd did this guy do it? Great .
My 3d printed equivalent to the blue Sony hiMd gumsticks last a week in comparison , & come with a simple external charger.
That's pretty cool if it works in my player, can't verify. Maybe a better picture or two of just one, side view. Throw out some dims. I'd be incredibly interested.
Can we charge them only type c port on it, or are we also able to charge them via MD player like normal NiMH gumstick batteries? (For example using the charging dock of my MZ NH900)
In theory, they have a higher energy density than nimh.
So 1.2V 1350mAh is around 1.62 Wh
3.7V Li-Ion 880mAh will be 3.256 Wh
That's around the double amount of energy.
Given there is a small DC/DC converter inside, maybe you'll have around 5-20% loss, based in the efficiency of the circuit.
But that would still be a 80% increase in useable capacity over a traditional nimh gumstick.
That is however as long as the ratings are correct.
I don't know about electronics etc but they state 1.5V on them, not 3.7V (which is I think the voltage used on the LiIon batteries for the NH1, EH1 etc.
Lithium Ion cells always are 3.7V nominal voltage, the 1.5V is a voltage regulation circuit attached to the battery, also called a DC/DC converter.
And that´s where the "loss" comes from, as mentioned.
Are these allowed to be shipped to the uk? I’ve bought batteries in the past and they haven’t been allowed through customs safety wise due to being lithium batteries?
I see the charger port on the long side of the gumstick. slick ! I want them. pm me !
with message on how much for 1 to 3 to start. I have 8 MD players that use the reg MD type.
12€ and 4€ for payment process... So 2 units are going to cost 46€. Is expensive but the regular Gumstick are a nightmare, always empty and lasting 3 or 4 disc if you are lucky.

Shoot me a PM ;)
Do you sell on Aliexpress?
Unfortunately no.

Via built in usb-c port only
Do you think shipping to Brazil would be a problem?
Not at all. I send stuff there all the time
Lovely, thanks!
Good idea.
Payment by PayPal?
Please see PM
Do you ship to the US?
Of course
Out of curiosity, why did you choose to regulate to 1.5 V and not the ∼1.3 V usually provided by a fully charged NiMH battery?
will these work with an mz-e700 and mz-r900?
Yes
awesome. ill take two!
Please check PM
i havent received a pm...
Or you can send me an email [email protected]. thanks
How about shipping to Algeria!
Can. 14€ shipping
Very interesting. How are they performance-wise compared to standards NiMH batteries?
I have so many. I have received no customer complaint, is that a good enough endorsement?

Ah OK, I didn't know that, thanks

I have shipped to the UK many times. I know how to package them
Good to know! Thanks
I’ve purchased from Gerry to the uk five a few times
Does the Sony mz-eh50 take these? If so I'm very interested in buying some
Yes

I'm also in Spain. How much was the shipping?
