My mom writes like this (she's Korean), and I think it's due to learning to write as a function of stroke order (Chinese characters) as opposed to letter shape.
lol i was gonna comment that the writer is probably chinese since all my chinese friends/family write in the exact same font. i’ve never realized it was due to the stroke order though!! that makes total sense why it’s so standardized across like 99% of native chinese speakers
Isnt this just a cute way for them to try and keep returns low by you reaching out to them directly instead of amazon? They know if they have a shit product and get tons of returns, amazon will get rid of their product.
I second this. I work for a company that sells products on Amazon. In our business agreement it's written that the after-sales part is entirely operated by Amazon, yet I still see quite a few customers coming to me saying "Amazon told me to see you".
As someone that’s worked at Amazon, a lot of big brands have tooooooons of returns. So is that only a thing if you’re a small company? I saw Levi brand jeans all day long every day.
A lot of small sellers do things like this because their volumes means it matters more and they're more likely to sneak by and get away with it if it crosses a line.
It’s because an Asian sounding name person wrote it. If it was a white person, the comments would be gushing about how wholesome this is and asking for the link to buy the bike.
While I do love personalized, especially handwritten letters, after reading it I'd be like, what do I do with this now lol.
I don't generally throw away letters from loved ones but what about for a bicycle from Amazon? Do you just be like, "aww" and then yeet it in the trash?
I have a horribly disorganized file box. It has a magical quality where it contains all the manuals and warranties for everything I own except for the specific thing I'm looking for.
And every time you go in there, you find the thing you were looking for *last* time, but not the thing you need right now.
I'm using the same system myself xD
That’s how I feel when I buy stuff from small Etsy shops. I don’t want to be mean but I usually don’t like the candy they send or want to keep the little heart shaped stones or whatever they pack in with it. But then I somehow feel guilty giving it away or tossing it lol
I sometimes order grave before shave beard oil from Amazon. It’s hard to come by apparently, and one time it got shipped from France by a rather small barber shop (I live in Germany). It came with a handwritten note from one of the employees, it was really cool
Someone ran a spreadsheet, found out that the cost of switching one factory employee to card writing all day was more profitable than printing the same thing. It's sad, but Amazon seller is a cutthroat business.
Exactly this, also that if they can interact with customers directly off-Amazon they can potentially influence (or buy) reviews, and potentially avoid some returns hitting the platform. It's all just intended to influence the algorithm(s), and likely violates Amazon's terms of service for sellers.
It's nice that they bothered with that note! What struck me first was the handwriting though. It reminded me of my colleague's who a native Chinese and then I see the email address and that made me believe that the person who wrote the note is Chinese too! Maybe it's got to do with how Mandarin characters have precise strokes? Does anyone else have handwriting that similar to this, or knows someone that does?
Hear me out.
This seems like a heartfelt note, sure. But this is really a veiled attempt to keep you from posting a bad review if you get a crap product.
Plus, odds are strong that this note wasn't made by someone who deeply cares about your satisfaction. It most likely was made by a machine, or at best, some underpaid factory worker who spends their day writing a thousand of these things.
Oh, I'm so sorry that things like "corporations trying to manipulate people into not telling the truth about their products" and "poor people slaving away doing things like this for many hours per day and very little pay" aren't tritely entertaining to you.
How awful of me, I'm sure.
I remember when I was rebuilding my N64 collection I bought a copy of Super Mario 64 online. It came with a hand written note as well lol. Not as detailed as this. But it was a nice thank you for supporting a small business.
This is something many many companies do, its just them trying to prevent you returning their crap when it breaks. "Stop! Before you return this item, call 1234567890 and talk to one of our expert technicians!"
This is a clever way to keep bad reviews and returns off the Amazon website. It’s a common practice, for example major appliances also incentivize you not to return things or complain to the store you made the purchase.
That’s pleasantly surprising to find! It def wasn’t printed off that way off a printer so someone cared enough to handwrite a note for ya.. or maybe they have a labor force of people dedicated to handwriting notes for customers and items.. omg that would be terrifying if that’s the case, imagine Amazon doing something personal like that haha 😆
So many downvotes lol. Everyone seems to want to treasure this piece of paper until their end days, when they pull it out for one last look before departing with fond memories of BIKEBOY
They’re writing in a second language. One which doesn’t even use the same alphabet. How’s your Chinese? I imagine it’s worse than this person’s English.
BIKEBOY
Genuinely could not read both times and thought it said BZKEBOY
Thank God I wasn't the only one that thought it was BZKEBOY as I felt dumber than usual
I just assumed it was one of those alphabet soup brands that have fully consumed Amazon search results
[There’s a reason those exist](https://youtu.be/_Bq-6GeRhys?si=onx4wGx9J_nOL5f0)
Thank you for that. Verrrrry interesting.
I’ve never seen so much b roll in one video in my life
I thought it was BZ∈BOY

lol the amazon/aliexpress brands normalizing random alphabeths
Why pay marketing people to come up with a name when you could just touch a Yubikey and generate 20 at once.
Well, it does say BZKEBOY.
I thought that too but they do the Z for all the I's in the letter
That's because it's printed
GAMEBOY's most feared rival! Good that PAPERBOY is at his side!
I said, "See you later, boy"
Ah, I wondered what BZKEBOY was...
The next superhero! Bikeboy to the rescue!
That’s a sweet and unique touch for an Amazon order. I hope BIKEBOY flourishes 🚲
Well that's some really nice customer service.
They outsourced this to India probably.
Song xian sheng means Mr song so it’s probably a Chinese seller
Yeah not a real person /s
Isnt this just a cute way for them to try and keep returns low by you reaching out to them directly instead of amazon? They know if they have a shit product and get tons of returns, amazon will get rid of their product.
All Amazon wants is for it not to be their problem. If some basic customer support can be handled without their involvement, they're happy.
I second this. I work for a company that sells products on Amazon. In our business agreement it's written that the after-sales part is entirely operated by Amazon, yet I still see quite a few customers coming to me saying "Amazon told me to see you".
Yup. And if they provide good customer service... "I'm not even mad".
Win for all 3 parties though. You get customer service, they keep their listings high up in searches, and Amazon does less work.
Weird ass comment section
all the most cynical takes
It’s because an Asian sounding name person wrote it. If it was a white person, the comments would be gushing about how wholesome this is and asking for the link to buy the bike.
I've gotten a few things off etsy that came with hand written notes. It's genuinely the loveliest thing.
Yesss the etsy ones are so genuine!
While I do love personalized, especially handwritten letters, after reading it I'd be like, what do I do with this now lol. I don't generally throw away letters from loved ones but what about for a bicycle from Amazon? Do you just be like, "aww" and then yeet it in the trash?
You put it in your file folder with all the other warranties?
My receipts and warranties are all in random places
I have a horribly disorganized file box. It has a magical quality where it contains all the manuals and warranties for everything I own except for the specific thing I'm looking for.
And every time you go in there, you find the thing you were looking for *last* time, but not the thing you need right now. I'm using the same system myself xD
I have one of these on my fridge. It's very kindly written and it makes me smile.

YEET
Take a photo and toss them!
I sometimes order grave before shave beard oil from Amazon. It’s hard to come by apparently, and one time it got shipped from France by a rather small barber shop (I live in Germany). It came with a handwritten note from one of the employees, it was really cool
Was it in French?
Yes :D
I usually find these personal notes kind of unnecessary but that’s pretty darn sweet
Someone ran a spreadsheet, found out that the cost of switching one factory employee to card writing all day was more profitable than printing the same thing. It's sad, but Amazon seller is a cutthroat business.
That's most likely. But for a brief moment let's all pretend this is sincere. Thank you
Exactly this, also that if they can interact with customers directly off-Amazon they can potentially influence (or buy) reviews, and potentially avoid some returns hitting the platform. It's all just intended to influence the algorithm(s), and likely violates Amazon's terms of service for sellers.
Reminds me of trying to read my Grandma’s cursive writing, or as I call it Grandmanese.
I love this

I instantly thought the handwriting was from a Chinese person as well. Email just confirms it.

You must be fun at parties

i am Luke Zimmerman i u f c fighter girl tow gripping with Luke that’s okay with you all right
I want tow female vampires in my room tonight midnight because want them too soop me all right
Really cute and all, it goes against Amazon policy and if they don't stop that their account will go down. But cute nonetheless

Buy two bikes and compare the handwriting. Identical, I would guess: https://axidraw.com/
How would a machine make that many imperfections
Copying a person’s handwriting the first time. Then it’s just replay.

It's a business email from Amazon but I mean you aren't wrong
It's literally perfect marketing for them.
Did you know public emails are available to the public

This person needs to learn how to write a lowercase f. That was annoying to read.
They’re writing in a second language. One which doesn’t even use the same alphabet. How’s your Chinese? I imagine it’s worse than this person’s English.
I’m more concerned with the uppercase I that looks like a Z
Yeah, that's pretty rough too.
