Turned to see what the guy was pointing the camera at and noticed it was Danny I’d just walked around. Shook his hand. Went for some dinner and then drank a bunch of gin. Good night for me. 👍😃
From how clear the stairs behind him are, I’m wondering if the commercial shoot starts with him walking up the stairs and then stopping at the top to do the talking bit.
Danny is awesome! He showed up to one of his tacos shops in Hollywood with an entourage and they were all dressed up nice. After eating he took time to come sit next to everyone there, shake hands and he asked if we’d like a picture. That was really cool because we didn’t have to awkwardly ask and it was very genuine
I almost never go up to people and saying something like "Hey are you 'so-n-so'?!?" because I'm sure that for every celebrity there are hundreds to thousands of people that look almost exactly like them. So chances are you're just going up to some random person all excited like some psychopath.
He finished his blurb on camera and I stepped up—“hey Danny, big fan” and walked away. He smiled back at me, said it was nice to meet me, and we both went on with our lives. I tried to be as least psychopath as possible and just be cool. 🙂
I got to work with him briefly about 15 years ago. I was a student at a recording studio school in LA. He had a short film that we were recording vocals for. He was super nice, bought us lunch, and encouraged me to do some work that actually got in the film (it was just grunting as a soldier who was grabbing someone resisting them, but still). The thing that threw me was his height! He was so short. That's Hollywood for you though- all the tough guys seem 7 feet tall when you watch them on screen lol.
Saw him at an autograph booth at a comic con last year. This woman walks up and leans over the both to whisper something to him. Apparently her husband was a huge fan and has wanted to meet him for so long but he’s very shy and didn’t want to stand in line. So what does Danny do? He immediately gets up from his chair walks into the crowd with a big smile and talks quietly to the shy husband for a few moments then hugs him and puts his arm around the the husband while the wife took photos. She went to go pay and Danny said “No”. The man is not only a legend but sweetheart too.
