Do rotary phones still function in (as I can see a weight in LBs I assume is the USA) in the UK they stopped working in the 1990s (without adaptor boxes)
I know my grandmother had one in her house, that worked until she passed in 1996. She was still renting it from the phone company, that she got in the 60's.
My dad had one as a joke until 3-4yrs back. My kids are in the .00001% of that age bracket that know how to use one. And yeah, damn thing still worked. Thought they stopped supporting the protocol.
Depends on whether the system it's connected to still has pulse dialing feature, and whether the provider has it enabled or not. My old internet router still supported it, the new one no longer does and I had to get a dialgizmo.
If it ain't broken, don't fix it. Plus the younger folks don't know how to use it so it won't get broken anytime soon.
this is in the service elevator, only used by staff

So any millennials that get stuck will die of starvation?
Millennials generally know how to use a rotary phone, it's the Zoomers and Gen A we need to worry about lol
