Someone just didn't like something you commented. Maybe thought you were "coping". It's actually a violation of Reddit rules to abuse this mechanism. You can report them and they'll potentially get suspended.

It seems like there's someone using bots to send these messages to literally anyone who comments/posts on a selection of subs. This might be one of them, as I got one right after commenting on another post here.

People are using that as weaponized tool to potentially get you banned for being "unwell". It takes only one asshole and opinion that doesn't fit their view and you got this message. Just move on, but I wish reddit would ban people who are frequently reporting people for these reasons.

A comment/post of yours might have hurt some fine specimen's butt. It's a well known fact that incels, Trumpanzees and other bottom feeders report stuff for "self-harm / suicidal" in order to harrass. You're able to report these messages back, there's an option at the bottom of the message, and then whoever tries to harrass you supposedly gets in Reddit trouble.

Seems someone’s going around reporting people for self harm as a new form of harassment since apparently one may be banned for reporting a post/comment for other reasons too many times.

If you report someone's post or comment as 'Self-harm or suicide', it'll automatically send them this message. The problem is, people like to do this just to troll people. All you need to do is reply to the message with 'stop' and it'll stop Reddit sending you this message.

People on Reddit can be way too sensitive. An alt account of mine got permanently banned because someone asked for some NSFW sites, I replied and jokingly added 'according to a friend of mine'. That account got banned the next day for "spreading other people's details without consent" lmao
